It's about time the mainstream press started drumming this louder:

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/opinion/opinion-why-too-much-horsepower-useless

Especially interesting that it's from a performance oriented site. Possibly because stuff like a Golf R will be reaching 400bhp soon.

I liked that which is ironic as my daily has 340bhp.

It's still no quicker than some modern diesels but I love it.

What's his name?

Dickhead or Princess, depending on his mood.

Aye hope it goes well Nyphur.

I'll have two rules at my funeral no dressing up as a twat (suits) and the cheapest of everything possible as they are a total waste of money.

My two rules will be:

- No religion whatsoever

- Obligatory Jägermeisters for all attendees

Bristol Uni students........ excellent karma and top youth do give a shit points to all of you..... they appreciate their Jamaican born cleaner. He's always a happy fella and doesn't believe those studying should be surrounded by bad vibes. They appreciate it all and have crowd funded for him and his wife to get back to see family this summer. He never mentioned it and didn't ask for it. It was purely a goodwill gesture from them all.

It seems all youth are not beyond help. My hat is doffed in true respect........

Erm I really hope he did mention it! Otherwise crowd funding sending him and his wife home has a very different appearance?

Return flights fella..... a holiday. I'm sure he must've mentioned not being able to afford said trip at some point.... otherwise they wouldn't have thought of that as a gift I'm sure.

Feel the positivity fella

We've sent your wife to the Caribbean.

Jamaica?

No, she wanted to go.

Good article.  I particularly like this quote:

about as depressing as back-to-back Radiohead albums with a Morrissey chaser.

I'm going to have to use that.

I went for a walk last night.

I think this days it all about the British Yorkshire workforce.

One square metre of 2mm plate steel to make Disco 2 chassis repair sections out of... £5 from my friendly local sheet metal suppliers :-)

Posted

They're worth keeping in with! My local bunch (who all my chod bothering neighbours recommend) must see £ signs as soon as I walk in - 1x2 foot piece of 2mm, a tenner. (After much shouting "oi, Rog! 'Ow much for this piece?" and sucking of teeth.)

Fortunately I only had a fiver in my pocket, so the purchase was postponed. Possibly indefinitely. Or until their pricing ceases to be based upon how well spoken the customer is.

Grrr.

A hoarder on wheels - impressive.

Mind you, after reading what most of us carry around for tools in our cars, not sure we're exempt from the same label.

Chap near me has a focus that's elbow deep in newspapers and carrier bags full of something, big old dude with a wild beard, overcoat and is always wearing wellies. I'd love to get a pic of his car in the supermarket car park but he's always sitting in it ..for hours

I get too embarrassed when the Ginsters wrappers are up to the level of the seat base.

Half way to target weight. Worked it out at half a stone a month since I joined at the end of August last year.

You could have timed that post better than just after I was explaining how many pasties I eat in the car!

:-D

Well done, that's incredible!

Thank you Mr Pillock.

I was naughty and had a pasty for breakfast this morning from the local Sainsbury's petrol station while my driver was filling the truck up.

I have missed Ginsters. Well worth the 10 naughty points!

Nice work, well done! My Mum does Slimming World so I know how hard it is. To lose that weight must have taken serious effort and discipline 8)

There's a difference between carrying items that can be used when the vehicle breaks down and just taking crap along with you.

The only thing I can see there really that would be marginally helpful would be the skateboard, so the journey could be continued..

I would send you a virtual pint Dozey, but you probably aren't allowed!  Well done, top class effort!

It's been more a total change in eating habits as opposed to effort and discipline. Basically I've just cut out the processed shit, limit your bread and dairy intake, and stuff my face with as many lean meats and fresh fruit and veg, pasta and rice as you want. I also have increased meals from breakfast lunch and dinner to breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Drinking 90 million gallons of water in this heat helps as well.

My naughty points are taken up with wine with dinner or a cheeseboard and glass of port. Except for the Ginsters I had this morning as I forgot my lunch box.
