Now I feel bad for not striking up a conversation, should I swing past at 6.30 on my way home and see if he's still there?

The first series! I thought they kept that under lock and key!

Asking for a friend* here, how would one 'aquire' these unobtanium episodes?

The torrent is not* here.

Does not* contain some of the earlier stuff either ie Woollard and Goffey etc.

It's not* close to 370GB in size either.

What one mustn't* do is type into Google "Top Gear Episodes: Where to Watch? reddit" for a link within to a Torrent file containing literally every Top Gear going including Oz and USA versions and all the specials and one off videos. And, amusingly the pre-Clarkson era episodes too.

One also certainly shouldn't download said torrent file using a program like µTorrent (other progs aren't* available) which will open up the torrent file downloaded, nor* should one be tempted to download anything by expanding out the resulting folder list and ticking selected episodes and letting them accidentally* land on your computer. Neither* should anyone watch the downloaded files (mkv format) using a programme like VLC Media Player, nor* transfer them to a USB stick and accidentally* insert them into a mkv friendly DVD/Bluray player). Not ever. Nope.

Hope that doesn't* help.

(PS free VPN isn't* recommended either)

Granted. I thought he had a previous career racing bikes when they first hired him and that this brought some sort of credibility. Later, I realised he didn't, and was hired for comedic effect and to be the butt of the oaf's jokes. And possibly to appeal to women of a certain age.

He was actually a presenter on Granada Men and Motors - remember that channel ?

Valuable Youtube resource when researching late 90s early 00s choddage.

It's about sodding time! apart from Dixons? and the model centre it was empty when I lived down that way.

High street renovation, Terrible Gate finally being knocked down and finally some money being put into the town.

Close to Brighton if you like the bright lights and bustle but quietish with its own little town center.

Okay, I only lived there for a year, but I enjoyed it, walking along the seafront to Lancing every day to work.

I enjoy everything that the US has to offer, but miss being at home :D

I remember Men & Motors from the early days of Freeview, but not digital/satellite.

Used to watch that, Ftn etc while eating chocolate biscuits etc in the evening, that and a PS2 was all I had for my spare time really. Good ol' days.

It's effectively ITV4 now, but ITV4 is shit.

Oh well.

You've put this piece of library music in my head, one ITV used a lot:

That's not a torrent, it's a deluge!

Why the grin? Total cost was £0. As I was running fairly tight on time I figured I'd buy the tickets on the train, didn't see a single conductor. No wonder the rail system in this country is fucked though...

And it’s not just about laughing at poor standards of literacy like some kind of gammon faced, middle class ponce. The truth is it could be an actual human turd in that bush and someone would complain.

My office at work is getting decorated next week so we've had to move out.

I've ended up in an office on my own, facing the door so no one can see my screens & with my own PC. Currently have the radio up & working hard*.....

Be careful about working hard*, apparently one of our senior management got caught doing that when someone walked in on him. Surprisingly that wasn't a disciplinary offence, but the source material, on the work pc for his stress relief, was. Now we only have open plan offices and I believe that they have reviewed the manual handling protocol

Oooo, got a collection thread hopefully coming this Sunday. Some of you know what it is, but for those that don't, it's something i have never had before. And the seller has arranged a full years MOT for me at cost (well it needed a new back box too) which was nice.

Excited about this one.

Regular readers will know of my internet tribulations and the joys* of living in a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere....ADSL is advertised at 2mb download speed but in reality is 1.5 at best and often way, way less, grinding to a total halt after a couple of days rain.

I invested a hundred eurogroats in a 3g/4g modem that I flung up in the loft and got my internet via the magic of mobile phone technology. It was on the 3g network and I was getting an average of 7mb and up to 9 or so on a good day.

Well, apparently they have upgraded the antenna to 4g and I am now getting 45mb. Its quite incredible actualy - having never had a properly fast internet connection before, this is a real eye-opener.

The down side is I can see myself hammering my data limit, but if I sack off the ADSL altogether I can upgrade to a bigger data bundle for the same price overall.

Ah. If you've got all the internet in France, maybe that explains why there seems to be so little of it in Italy. Bulgaria still champion of the internets, though Slovenia was pretty close.

Driving home yesterday and was behind a couple of fairly slow lorries as I headed round a fairly large roundabout.

Bloke in a new Mondeo comes steaming up behind me, nearly hits me up the arse, then absolutely HAS to get ahead of the slow lorries before leaving the roundabout (he could easily have waited and then overtaken on the next bit of dual carriageway but no, he was far too important for that) so cuts across a couple of lanes to dodge ahead of them.  As he cuts ahead of the trucks he realises that he is going to run out of room and in taking avoiding action goes WALLOP into the kerb and nearly up onto the grass verge.

I nearly crashed laughing!

Dismal upload speed though.

I had to dig Virgin out to sort my upload. A couple of filters removed and we're back in business.

Glad that is still trundling along. What's the mileage now?

Just had an FTP in my Disco 300 TDi, right in the middle of a busy road junction. Initial suspicion was that I'd run out of fuel due to a possible faulty fuel gauge / sender, not in itself a problem as there was a filling station nearby & I had a spare fuel can in the boot.

I then flattened the battery trying (so I thought) to pump fuel through the system.

The grin? Good mates.

The first lot came out to help in a 1.2 Clio, the idea being I could use their battery to jump the Disco. No luck, but thanks for trying to help.

Next mate turns up in a Nissan 350z, who manages to tow me up the hill to my house.

Then another mate (an agricultural engineer) turns up to my house with a Merc C-class diesel full of Snap-On diagnostic gear, we soon traced the fault to a blown 10 a fuse on the stop solenoid circuit.

Disco is now happy again, as am I :-)

Out in the TT today when I had another one pull up by the side of me at the traffic lights. He was probably what most would describe as your stereotypical TT owner (to be fair the same probably could said about me) with his girlfriend next to him. As he was tailgating me before hand (I was doing the speed limit), I hazard a guess that he probably was going to race off the lights. Being a childish sort of person, I couldn't resist. Especially as it a straight dual carriageway into an NSL.

Gear shifter moved from Drive to Sport.

Traffic Light GP lights are Red ... Amber ... Green for Go!

I let go of the brake and planted the accelerator. Front chinese, winter rated death rings squarked and scrabbled for any grip they could while the Traction Control system flashed frantically away as it tried to keep everything in check.

Naturally I got ahead and stayed ahead. There was a good 2 car lengths ahead by the time I got up to 70mph when I backed off the accelerator.

I could see him loosing speed and lurching on his (presumably) manual gear changes. I do like DSG... :)

In my defense of taking the bait is that it was a good test to see if everything was working well! Especially as both cars should have had similar performance as being nearly identical. So all the horses must be still alive in the engine and the gearbox must be whirring its cogs properly. :)

Quite why he was bothering racing another TT off the line I'm not really sure why...

I've slightly forgiven it for costing me far too much last month now.

Auto boxes are brill for TLGPs! I have pissed off some serious kit in my filthy 318 touring. I particularly enjoy the post back off big grin at them as they go past. Really childish but saved for the muppet who is coming up behind then moves to the outside lane at the last minute when he sees your car.

My old gooner shifted alarmingly fast if I properly buried the throttle from a stop! Was always fun! Once hit reset on the cruise from 35, cruise was set at 80... That was scary
