Good deed of the day...

Not a lot makes me smile these days. I suppose helping someone does though. Saw a guy with a W-reg Honda Civic estate broken down on a roundabout, it starting to get busy and I wanted to get home, but as all other dricpvers were ignoring him I couldn't. I asked him (about 3 times) if he needed any help pushing it out of the way which he was happy to actually receive some form of help.

I parked my car on the grass and helped him push it onto the grass verge out of the way of dozy-arsed drivers. The bastard thing was quite heavy, probably because it had his gardening tools.

The car started, gears engaged but no drive apart from some thumping noise coming from the underside which I suspected was a propshaft failure.

Hopefully he got it recovered, he said he was waiting for breakdown service to arrive.

Going home last night, I passed an Agila (so a Suzuki WagonR). In it were three people...

My brother's scored me some old meters, these look eighties.

Mmm tracking power supply. Lab gadget envy!! Late '70s or 80s and still a really useful box.

The AVO meters didn't change much over 30 odd years. Horrible bloody things, we binned them with much joy when affordable practical digital multimeters arrived around 1980.

Was it Cavcraft and some happy customers?

Sitting in between the more bona-fide classic cars - I spy a knob van! And in Autoshite corporate colours too!

There's a place in Glasgow where my mate gets his hair cut where you can have a coffee, beer or whisky while you get your hair trimmed. The counter to that is that it;s £34 a pop which is more per haircut than I spend on haircuts per year.

When I was in my early teens the local barbers had porn mags for you to read while waiting for a haircut... it was never empty....

The chap I go to has Sky Sports running off a Kodi box. Saturday tends to be quite busy.

I had some time to kill earlier so thought id do a bit of work on project teabag, i thought i had found all the bodge repairs from years gone by, i lifted the sound deadening to cut out some rot i noticed 3 plates of which werent welded on,

I peeled them off with a screwdriver, they were stuck on with sealer, i laughed my head off its like a treasure hunt for shoddy repairs

Yes, "they all do that, sir" according to my local Honda garage. My 55 plate example did exactly the same thing and left me stuck in the middle of a roundabout in Aberdeen, thankfully some Lord Sterling types stopped to help push the bastard thing on to the centre of the roundabout so it wasn't blocking the majority of traffic attempting to cross the River Dee on the A90...

Look where the window washer is? It must stuck through the wheel arch. Mines the other side.

Anyway I suppose Fiestas don't cost as much in Spain then?

This one was in Exeter so no foreign excursion this time, but cheep they are and funny colours.

Only seen a few over the and all of them were battered to chuff.

This one looks OK in yellow but I'd need the steering wheel on the other side.

125cc hoonage on the way back from Glossop in the dark tonight.

The thing about 125cc hoonage is that it's very slow indeed, but feels faster than the speed of light :-D

Karma does work, Had my youngun with me for a few days so we've been out and about:

Monday Cheshire oaks we find a bank card next to a car outside Nando's, contactless too, handed it to the manager and left a note on the car.

Alton Towers yesterday, we had a few spare fast track tickets and gave them to various people who looked like they'd appreciate them

Today I realised I'd left my bloody jacket in the Wetherspoons we stopped off at in Cheadle, they are going to post it to me :)

Just booked flights for summer holidays.   To England.   Not much of a grin for most on here but I haven't been back for a few years and very much looking forward to it.

I've said before I don't plan on selling her and I think he is going to make it even harder if I change my mind. TBH, I can only see a 1.3 Horizon swaying me on this. There are 2 cars that my parents had when I was a kid that I've not owned. One is a Horizon 1.3, the other is a Sunbeam 1.0. I don't really remember the Sunbeam so it doesn't bother me (just as well as they have all probably been converted to rally cars, plus I have owned several cars with the coventry climax engine) but a Horizon in on the wish list and would be one of the only car that might replace the Visa.

But my dad hated his Visa (hence why he replaced it with another Horizon) so I might not get on with a Horizon but need to hit one someday.
