Charged the battery, poured some petrol into the carbs and it fired right up. I'm getting a new tyre on it tomorrow then I'm all set for my end of February plan to take a long weekend and blitz it for it's mot. Still a fair amount to do including fitting a new speedo cable, electronic ignition, new fuel pump, discs pads and arb bushes. Oh and re-fit the interior, finish welding mounts onto the new seats etc etc.

I'm off to Cologne on a 4 day boys jolly on Friday, wife's only concern is that I have enough pillows for my newly diagnosed arthritic neck, that really should be the least of her concerns

Took the 359k miler disco into the auto gearbox place to see what the youth thinks about its slight clumsiness.

Tells director, well you might as well keep it dan as your company motor. No point selling it with it slightly knackered.

We bought it from bca who ran it all over the country towing a trailer.

 

Its got some big bills aright. Since we have had it.

 

£6024 new short block.

£800 odd compressor

£200 windscreen

£2000 new maf, second hand turbo, actuator for the transfer box.

 

We did buy two from them both with shagged engines mind.
