Depart Ardmore , out over the Hauraki gulf, Up the Auckland Harbour past the city centre then a loop round to fly past Rangitoto Island then back to Ardmore. 

Restored at Ardmore, that must have been an early test flight. I can say that it does sound magnificent from personal experience !

As it's a nice afternoon I have just been out for a drive in the Golf. A yoof with his cap on backwards in a slammed Polo with wicked rimz  waved at me as if I was a kindred spirit, knob!. On the way home I was followed by a nice E reg Mk2 Scirocco., I gave him a wave and got an appreciative wave in return.

Had a leak start in the boot of the 2300s I thought this is the end of a nice dry car but after investigating it was just coming through a loose trim clip so easily sorted.

Whilst waiting in the pub carpark for the AX buyer to turn up, I was entertained by a chap in a light aircraft (single prop) doing aerobatics. He was rather good at loops.

Four brand new shocks for £80, a pair of good used driveshafts for £0 and only a 20 mile round trip has seen me a happy Rover owner today.  I don't need the driveshafts, but they were my favourite price and good to have in stock just in case.

Hey I like those too- as a nineteen/twenty year old in the early seventies I had a Brabham Viva (HB) and I still rate the styling. I could never get my head around the fact that they did a 2.3 litre version of the Viva, over twice the capacity of my car. In my ignorance I thought it must be twice as powerful and twice as fast.

I was staying in a pub in Cheltenham the last few days and this morning during breakfast i saw this Japanese man come down for breakfast and ask the landlord if he could borrow the land phone, no problem he says, hands him the phone and walks off to the kitchen to make the breakfast.

 

Meanwhile i watch Mr Japanese man go up to the table beside us and ask the lads sat at it if they knew the international dialing code for Japan! He then spends the next 10 minutes sat on this phone speaking Japanese with the landlord oblivious still in the kitchen! Talking about getting value for money out of your room!
