What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

It has been like that as long as I remember, so going back to ~1991? Thats when we moved to the Stonhams when I was about 6 and used to go to the lake for walks and whatnot. I am amazed its not either been bought up and developed or turned into a fly-tipping hotspot - like you say its right on the road and open to anyone.

Brilliant pictures - I've never been brave enough to venture in, but looks to be worth an explore even if a lot of the machinery has now been removed.

Driving home from work I've just witnessed an accident.

Why is this a grin?

It was Karma in action.

Picture the scene.

Pulling out to go right from a notorious side road near Totnes, T-junction on a 90 degree corner on a fast road. You have to cross fast traffic. I notice a road bike coming round into the corner, but I can pull out safely before it reaches me. Look in the rear view. The old focus estate behind me has pulled out without seeing the high viz chap on the bike, noticed him too late, stopped, then tried to reverse out of the junction. Too slow and the bike goes flying over the bonnet. I pull over, do a u-ey and go back to give my details to find the confrontational car driver getting a thorough dressing down.

The cyclists an off duty copper!

Another good nuisance call today from some woman asking about life insurance

"hello I'm from blah blah life insurance"

I ask her "do you have life insurance?“

“yes“

"with your company?“

"no with another company"

"well your company must be pretty crap if you don't even have a policy there yourself"

At which point she was a bit lost for words so I put the phone down :-)

Berry Pomeroy turning onto the main Paignton - Totnes road. Coming from Berry Pomeroy into Totnes.

I work some funny hours, but should be commuting in the Scirocco soon so fairly noticeable!

Ah Totnes . Been down there a few times , camping at woodlands. Do they still have the rolling the orange down the main road in town centre race ?

Private land rules! So far today, I've driven after 3 pints, had a 3 year old sat in the front seat with no seat belt or car seat, and ive driven with no seatbelt

2nd gear tick over is perfect for cruising around the caravan park too, with a lovely aroma of liquid vegetables wafting behind me!

Unless I'm mistaken there are 2 roffles being drawn on Wednesday, B0ll's Laguna, and 320T's 156

I don't care enough to check, but has anyone got the same number(s) in both roffles and considered what happens if their number comes up

I was reading a story about a new car website today. The name of the website. superprix.co.uk. Yes that right, super pricks co uk.

This means a group of people sat around discussing the name of their new company and not one of them put their hand up and went, erm...

Super chuffed with the car I purchased today. I've been looking at the documentation I got with it today and it's been local since it was new and I'm owner number 3 now, although it was bought in Central London originally.

Also my friend who drove it back absolutely loved it too. A bit surprised by the lack of PAS to begin with but got used to it. He said that his new 500 felt a bit boring afterwards…..another person converted.

One would have done, been made to feel a complete fud for his trouble and vowed never to voice an opinion in a meeting ever again.
