What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Thought about something, all mk5 Cortinas these days wear a lie.

Back in the day most if not all had the orange part of their rear lights faded to near clear from the sun.

Signs of the times, I guess

After 17 years, the song known as "The Most Mysterious Song On The Internet" has been identified.

If you've not heard of it before, the story goes that back in the 1980s someone in Germany recorded a few songs off the radio onto a mixtape, and on the tape was a song he didn't recognise. Nothing more was thought about it until around 2007, when someone found the tape and uploaded its contents to the Internet, including the unknown song. You would expect someone to know it straight away - but remarkably, even in the Internet age, no one could identify who the song was by, or what it was called.

This was until around two weeks ago, when someone researching some bands who had appeared at 80s music festivals in Germany contacted one of the bands and was sent some of their old material in response...and among said material was the mystery song!

And here it is.  (I especially like one comment that this song is the ultimate example of “I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it.” 😆)

I kicked up a right stink in the Molten Brown shop at Gretna Gateway today.
I knocked a diffuser bottle off the counter when paying. 3/4 of a full bottle all over the floor. Wasn’t one of their better fragrances either.

Can’t grumble at spoons tbh

my local one is pretty good, cheapest one I’ve been to as well, food is adequate, drinks are cheap and it’s clean and relaxed

not that exciting

my mate wasn't feeling the best so forced him out to cheer him up which was successful

£57 in total, for 2 people and drunk enough i couldn't remember getting home so i'd say that's decent value

Just watched latest O'Reilly autos vid - problems with an Xtrail.

At the start of the vid there is a guy in the background pissing in the bushes.

We don’t judge you for it.  Going out for a meal with a friend to talk to is good.

Couldn't find the 'pictures of where you live' thread so, instead, it's here.

This is entitled 'Boxer at Dusk' (and it's been on my phone since Tuesday - weather here today was pants)

This ALF? Thought he'd have been consigned to the pre-internet dustbin of history?
Now SOAP would maybe be worth a rewatch - has the humour there survived the years....

Met up with @Mally this morning to get a pair of mk1 Yaris rear lights off him. Complete with a full set of mint bulb holders which are what go fucked. And are like hens teeth it seems. Keeps the mother in laws car on the road a bit longer!

cheers Pete. Good to see you again. You'll get first refusal on the car for racing when she finally gives up on it 👍

Only two things I remember about ALF...

1) The scene where he sings Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" using a cucumber as a microphone.

2) The director's name was Peter Bonerz.

What makes you grin, well it's this -The ex @Saabnut and @DirtyDaily L322.

It just wafts along so effortlessly, has endlessly adjustable seats (so you're never uncomfortable)  and the double glazed windows make it reasonably quiet... Not forgetting the V8 soundtrack when making progress.
It's a shame these get such a bad rep',  because i can't think of another vehicle that can tow, waft or cover many miles in such comfort. Buy one that is mechanically sorted, keep on top of it with routine maintenance and you'll be tip-top.
I'd like to see how the earlier Td6 compares to this (4.4 Jag V8 engine) - Any members have one i could try ?

Will certainly be one to add to the 'Regret selling' list, as and when the time comes.
