What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Oh, it's a petrol! Shame

What always make me smile are the H&S fuck ups.

Here's a couple from the recent trip to Crete.

Don't know who checks or if there are fire regs, but it's always good to have a fire hose accessable.

It's just not only could I probably piss more than this given the supply pipe size, but the tap to turn it on is clearly visible,  nicely beyond your ability to reach over the handrail with a 4 meter drop below it!

This gave myself and several other tourists a good 10 minutes entertainment.

How to unload a minidigger from a tipper truck without ramps or a crane.

Sat beside the lake in France with a brew and the well deserved hangover has done one! Major grin!

Choosing a picture like this you must imagine that the Facebook editor of my local paper had some Shiter tendencies....

Coz sure as hell 4 people weren’t rescued from that MR2... so they’ve picked that for pure aesthetics!

Must’ve been the pop up headlights!

(Orl) Vauxhall (r shit) adventures

Today I decided to take a little time for myself. Been feeling pretty shit lately. This morning I set off to the local Morrisons. Whilst there, my (orl) Vauxhall (r shit) Vectra met another brother;

Including this one, I'd seen no less than 4 Vectra Bs in the space of 30 mins and a 4 mile journey. It looked really clean, like an old giffers car.

Later on I popped into the charity shoppe. I'm well known there and the staff were happy to see me as I'd not been there for nearly 2 months due to Ramadan and now family stuff in Birmingham occupying my free time. One of the usual customers and sometime helper was having trouble with her car, it needed a jump start. I fetched my car and was greeted by a very Autoshite Volvo 760 2.3!!!

I'd suggested that if the Volvo were ever for sale, I may know some Scottish Volvo enthusiasts* that would happily take it under their wing. If not, i certainly know others who would be interested in thenold Volvo. She loves it but has suggested she may sell. She'd just spent £400 getting it through its MOT.

Funnily enough, £400 is what Father_Fumbler payed for his 2000 V70! Me like VOlvo shoebox shaped cars. Will have one someday!

Txt my builder friend mentioned in the grump yesterday.  My roof leak is worse, are you coming?

He turned up tonight, start date on my new roof is 1st July.

He actually offered to come earlier, but can't have scaffolding on the drive when racing's on.

May put the bill on the grump thread later.

This thing has had problems for about 30 years. Since I claimed ownership 18 months ago, I've been meaning to get it fixed.

I eventually had to take it to an Italian man in Edinburgh. Problems fixed AND sounding noticably better.

Spent an hour or two going back in time and watching BBC 2s “The car’s the star” Quentin Wilson at his finest!

I watched the 2CV, Reliant Robin and this one on the DS, which was my personal favourite as it featured eccentrics such as LJK Setright, and the famous philanderer Alan Clarke and his wife.

There’s many more to watch!

I miss Anton Rodgers. He looked like just the kind of man who would have a DS.

His car seems to be on SORN at the moment, and DVLA thinks it's silver rather than black.

As is the late Alan Clarke’s Decapotale...

The Reliant one meets some  right cards!!

Quickest car turnaround ever! Mother Fumbler lists Jazz yesterday. Within 20 minutes gets call, 3 hours later car is sold. Finds new Jazz, views it, buys it, will collect it on Friday. It's the first of the new design Jazzes (from 2015-present), and it was built in Japan. In my (not very humble) opinion, it's a heavily computerised gimmicky lump of steel but she likes it and only has to pay peanuts for tax. It is also Hi-vis yellow. Unoffensive and cheerful, but is definitely noticeable!

Meanwhile, I've found a Micra that's very local for cheap monies with MOT, 77K on the clock, and was a part exchange. HPI clear and all, will be seeing it tomorrow. Lovely metallic cherry red, therefore zero fade which is a bonus. It's all been quite exciting for all of us these last few days!

Watching 1970’s blaxploitation classic “Foxy Brown”

God damn, Pam Grier is a whole lotta woman!  Bit of Antonio Fargas and a Willie Hutch soundtrack (sounds like Curtis Mayfield, that ain’t no bad thing) this is Saturday night heaven!

Spotted a K11 Micra on the A66, towing a caravan up a steep incline. It looked like it was doing about 10 mph......

In the time it would taken me to read that I’d have been in the rear end of the nearest truck!

Men of a certain age will understand.

Cheers Son.

Just looking at Vans on Ebay

There was a time when £75,000 would have bought you some Italian exotica , not any more , a very quiet LDV with no payload I'd guess if it's full of batteries
