The Renault 6 now has brake lights, for the first time since I bought it. What I thought was going to turn into a major rewiring exercise was actually sorted with a new earth wire (using an old bit of wire I had lying around), some thorough cleaning of contacts, a good spray of WD40 and two new bulbs. So that's that job done - now all I need to do is get the driver's side screenwash jet working and it'll just be the welding left for the test.

Just for fun (and without getting 'personal') how do you imagine fellow Autoshiters, assuming you haven't met them?

Whats making me grin is the JOY OF NEGGING. This joyous act had been rendered impossible by ebay's unending quest to remove rights of any sort from users of their site, but now you can dust off your negging tools thanks to SHIPLY. I have been pissed about on there by some clueless wanker, and today have been able to write some vitriolic abuse and hit the big red neg button. Lovely!!! Now i just have to get my £50 deposit back off shiply, expect to read about that in the GOM thread

Sheridan Smith. Nuff said.

Hell yes. Filthy, with big knockers. Well, I assume filth level is dependent on character being played, but she does it so well

Friday 13thisms made me laugh today....

Took a group of fresh meat into the company today. It's my job to give them a load of safety talks and take them on a tour of the place.

First up.... "If anyone's got a mobile phone on them, please put it on silent for the duration of..... [ring ring ring ring ring].... bollocks. that's mine".

Next up I have to tell them that if they have an accident during the induction they need to tell me. At which point we have a joke about how safe they are in an office block. Ten minutes later I take a group down to security, and one lass falls down stairs. Doh!

Roll on Saturday 14th :)

Robert Fripp drives a Sunny!

Or at least he did, as proven in this AMAZING documentary on youtube

More shite on show, including a nice gen1 Prelude. Also features Fripp demo-ing 'Three of a Perfect Pair' to the Polydor top brass "Side one is accessable.... side two is excessive". Fantasitc stuff.

What made me grin today :D

We decided to dismantle the kids climing frame/ slide as they're a bit old for it now...imagine my surprise and delight to discover the frame has left a very pleasing piece of parched grass in the shape of a classic "cock 'n' balls"

^^ you have a far more developed visual imagination than me cheggers.

My son, who works nights, is on holiday at the moment.

Doesn't sound like anything to be particularly happy about but (another long story, apologies) my house is upside down and my sitting room is over his bedroom, which means that it is out of bounds while he is asleep - most of the time that I would occupy it.

His holidays mean that I can be in there with the laptop - the only reason I bought it, and listen to Mylène Farmer on my stereo.

I have spent years acquiring a reasonable stereo and I'm unable to use it for most of the year, same with the TV. Bought a 50" plasma to watch Mylène Farmer DVDs on, piped through the stereo, and it just sits there unused - until this weekend :)

Should be out fixing my non-working turbo but bugger that - the kids swiped my car to go to IKEA anyway, the only excuse I need to sit here with the magnificent

and an almost empty bottle of Cockburns special reserve and a warm glow.

OT maybe but there is a mention of autoshite in there somewhere.

I'm still trying to decide if it's a Panasonic 1124.

(bad enough looking at old car shite on tv and in pictures without looking at the printers too).

Just had an offer accepted on a new home in Wales. £20k under the asking price too. Now we REALLY need to sell our house, and I need to reduce the Seabrook fleet down to a more manageable size too. If you want a house with tons of parking and a FREE Citroen CX, drop me a PM!

Posted

Thanks folks. CX will be on Car And Classic soon. I'd better get it into a certain weekly newspaper too...

Will be putting the Westy in for a test soon, then that'll be up for grabs too. Gutted about that, as it's lovely, but sacrifices must be made!

Back in a truck with a sleeper cab today. EVERYONE should have somewhere at work for a quick 40 winks or a crafty wank. How you office people cope is beyond me.

Good luck. Hope you have better luck than I've been having. (See GOM thread  )

Shut two doors, hide in comfy chair away from window.

Tip: have some tedious works manual type thing open on the desk in front of you in case the gaffer walks in.
