My Bargain Honda Accord estate has passed the MOT with only one advisory, which I knew about, get in.

I could sell on and more than double my money but it's bloody lovely, even if it has done 226k!

My girlfriend and I never agree on cars, to the point where she hates almost all my choices. We've agreed we both like Vectra Cs.

I think you may struggle to find a couples councillor who can help with that..

After what feel like months of rain (it's certainly rained every single day since 30th September) it was not only dry today but sunny!

So after a half-day at work I went for a run in the mountains, and a very enjoyable drive in the Stellar.

A company that rents out twenty year old Previas that have been converted a couple of years ago to camper spec, for £19 a night.

Nineteen pounds! I think these guys might be getting a few calls for the next Shitefest....

Today I followed a Renault Scenic with brown velvet curtains in the back and side windows. What's more they all had cream coloured lining.

Finally managed to get a few hours on the Capri. I have now decided bollocks to getting it immaculate I just want it in the road next year. It's 100% solid but I am shite at prep and my mate seems to almost live in China at the moment so it will be sorted even if it's twenty shades of primer.

Yesterday 15 year old Bosch dishwasher emptied all over the kitchen floor, grump

which is tiled so could be mopped up - less grump

Took front panel off and found the bottom seal has distorted - grumpish

post-3439-0-63541700-1509195794_thumb.jpg

then found that the lip on the tray has also deformed. this is part of the dishwasher tray - arse

post-3439-0-04506700-1509195807_thumb.jpg

I tried bending it back into shape but it just flobbled back down again. so double checked the height against the sides and the front lip is below the waterline. was planning to follow the Dutch and build a dyke but ended up wedging a stick under it

post-3439-0-30414000-1509196001_thumb.jpg

Alas this blocks the door from opening when the front white cover is screwed into place. I did think about fitting a bit of rod underneath the lip to hold it in place but then found a local year old Bosch on the bay with offers. £55 snaffled it

Yay

Fitted and service is resumed

Bottom seal would have cost me £30 plus no guarantees that the lip fix would work

Old unit is going on the bay for spears or reapers

The new ADO16 and Hydrasag designs have exceeded my expectations!  Seems I've found that magical thing of an art style I enjoy working in, that other people enjoy spending money on, and that I enjoy the content of.  It's almost not like working at all.  Seeing those fresh sales today has put me in a right good mood.

Best crack some more out whilst the demand is there!

It's one of those days which makes me wish I lived somewhere with a bit more relief (much as I do love Norfolk).

In other news, the Carina E finally passed its test today.

The gearchange on the type 9 in my mk1 sierra felt a little stiff, then a thought entered my head that when I removed it from the sierra I took it from and fitted it to mine I didn't change the oil (i popped a prop end in the box so it didn't drain out) it didn't really matter as ive done no miles, so toddled off to get some comma 75/90 semi gl4 spec and set about draining with an old facet cube fuel pump, it had what looked and smelt like atf in there, the gearchange is now as slick as an Italian giggolo im well chuffed

Just had to buy another suitcase after the last one lasted 32 days (walking a few miles a week with one will do that). Was just a cheap thing from Matalan and they had to be argued with to refund it.

Where’s the grin? Just bought a replacement for £14 more from the local Antler outlet store with a 5 year guarantee - told them exactly what I’d be using it for and they said they’d be more than happy to replace it if the wheels fall off every time for those 5 years!

Just watched the latest Wheeler Dealers where family favourite Brewer buys a Saab with a knackered clutch, then gets Ant in to change it on the sellers drive, using his tools and engine crane!!

How Autoshite is that!

Plus Ant showed how to use shrinkers and stretchers on sheet metal to repair the rusted out windscreen panel....

Show seems to have definitely turned a corner now Edd has departed

Someone on the CCC Facebook page has discovered a madman (or woman) with 9 Citroen AX Diesels of various ages and condition (although all MOT'd and taxed) in South London. Hero.

I know someone with about that many, not all diesel though. Only one or two on the road as well, the rest are in a nice dry barn. Hubby drives a Saxo VTS/R, not bad for a couple in their 70s/80s.
