Looks like a zaf B dashboard.

Did you run the switched live from the fag lighter ring light or elsewhere?

This got a wash shammy and new rear wiper blade. For a 12 year old car it still looks superb.

Seventy quid? How come so cheap?

Although a 3-litre petrol S Type is a fantastic machine.

Now… that’s something I would really like to try!

I was taken to the 1998 Motorshow for my birthday by my Uncle… it was a very formative trip for me. A 75 and an S-Type have been on the want list ever since and still are… or at least… were until Tuesday!

Part of me is wondering if I would grow to like a 75 if I owned one for a bit… rather than just trying one. The green one has sold, but I totally forgot I had first refusal on one from a friend of a friend who I met at a car show in the summer. And he messaged about 10 mins ago… might be worth a look…

Ah right. I've got a similar (2nd hand) Sony with Android and I really like it.

Took a bit of time out from scraping polyurethane sealant and crap of the underside of this.

And went for a decent ride out in this.

Only managed 320 miles in it between MOTs this last year. ☹️

It drives far better than it looks and is surprisingly nippy around the houses.

Makes me want one again, or a ULEZ friendly Seicento.

Useless information alert, but Streeters is still a car dealership, albeit Ancaster Hyundai and formerly Nissan.  I went there in the late 90s when my mate bought his first car from them, a yellow Cinquecento Sporting.  In contrast I was running a knackered 1973 Mini on a shoestring!

Today I visited a man who does magic with Saabs. I don't own a car anymore, it's now a galaxy class spaceship.

So I thought today was going to be a collection thread day…

I’d bided my time following selling the Saab ‘vert wanted to try and find the right car. When a really good example of a car that I’d always promised myself I would own one day came up, 4 miles from home, and for a very reasonable price. I was excited to go and view after work.

Impressions were good, it was in very good condition bar one or two disclosed faults.
IMG_7104.jpeg.1d5c6c89d225c3ebf5602d55246c492e.jpeg

Such as that exhaust!

But… I drove it and have to say I felt entirely underwhelmed. It drove very nicely, but I just didn’t particularly like it to drive. I then remembered a previous one I drove a couple of years back, and recall feeling the same about that one, but concluded about that one that it was a bit tired.  But this one was less than 60k and well cared for. So I can only conclude that despite wanting to love the 75 that maybe they’re not for me! I’m quite disappointed about this…

wonder if the MG version would be more enjoyable?

I think I agree with brownnova, my 75 drives very similar to a mk2 Cavalier. It followed a Vel Satis and an XJ8, but it doesn't feel as good as either of them. It's not even as nice to drive as the P5 and the P6 I'd been hoping it might.

The obvious answer is you are not old enough to qualify, and its not yet run in.

That's an ECU spacer plate, meant to stop it getting too hot from the inlet manifold. The ECU is not fitted there, I'm guessing Karl is working his magic on it.

You sure the iveco hasn't just decided to end it all? Not just burdened with being terminally shit it was ordered by some sociopath who wanted green paint.

Probably ex-ASDA, seen loads of them converted to recovery trucks. They’ll have a chocolate auto box and be generally fucked from a life of getting ragged around town and bounced off kerbs.

Gave Sierra a polish , put Range Rover on ramps to remove exhaust and start to de-rust the rear underneath.
