It’s the Cae Dai 50s Museum. It’s near Denbigh.
Wonderful little place.
We’ll have a meet there some day.

I’m suggesting it as a meeting point for our Shitesteddfod (Wales Shiter meet up) Which you’d be more than welcome at! We just need to firm up a date!

On the way home tonight I spotted a car in a ditch just off a roundabout.

As I was passing I hadn't noticed the Police tape as it was on the floor at the time. I parked up the road and called the cops whilst running back down (I haven't ran for years ?) by the time I got there the lady call handler confirmed that it had been reported and that the vehicle was awaiting recovery.  There were ar least 3 other cars who had stopped by the time I had got there.

I put the tape back up and hoped others will see it, but because of ongoing roadworks on that stretch the cones get easily confused with the roadworks cones.

The secondhand front strut I bought for the V70 arrived yesterday, and I fitted it this afternoon - much easier than pissing about with new top mounts, it took 45 minutes from start to finish.  A test drive confirmed that the nasty clonking has been cured, and the car now drives better than it ever has in my ownership.  25 quid well spent I reckon.

Ran out of time to look at the 75's exhaust, and I'm out all day tomorrow so that will have to wait for another day.

Bornite - any mention of a price on the Volvo?

(not that I'd be able to afford it anyway)

None. I will see him again in a few weeks so will ask again. He’s got a few old heaps that need re-homing!

Off on a collection mission - this time it's a car I've actually bought myself.  This is my first go on one of Greater Anglia's fancy new diesel trains - it actually still smells new inside.  It's pretty quiet too.  Seats aren't as comfy as the old Class 170s though.

Minor news, I popped up to the garage yesterday to check on the Volvo. I put  a fresh battery on it, cleaned the earths and it's still broken. I then gave it a quick wash (as it was looking a little sad) .
I will be arranging transport for it this week for specialist tinkering. I'm really looking forward to driving this again.

Probably not quite shaped to your bum just yet. Maybe more comfortable next year after all the car collections you do by train.

Killing time between trains by taking a wander up to the big house.

Just passed two people carrying a Christmas tree along the pavement.  London is weird.

Any clues as to what you're getting?

I’ve just seen possibly the most Autoshite thing I’ve ever seen.

Remember that red Sherpa panel can off the eBay tat thread, I’ve just seen it being towed home. By a Volvo 940 Limousine!

Madness! Brilliant brilliant madness.

I saw a dude in an  r reg escort cab this morning at 8.30. Roof down in the dark with his tunes pumping. Spoiled with silly lexarse lights and fart cannon. I think he's 20 years to late for that party

'Our' Scottish Citroen Visa Cabriolet has not yet been presented for an MOT since it expired on 14/12/18 :-(

Not looking good. Can't believe it's over a year either.

Mended* with three screwdrivers and some sellotape. It started third kick and ran pretty well, but tick-over quite high and I need to go on a road run. Got a new ignition and keys (£6!) but the old one won't come out, so we bodged it for now.

Completely knackered the tool box lock assembly up, so it's held up with sellotape for now.

Only minor fettling today as still a bit delicate from boys night out on Friday.

620 rear light cluster cracked by some schmuck:

20 quid eBay bargain, old one came out lovely, new* one in, job's a good un (via two bulbs popping and me having to go to Wilko to get some more)\

Also the 420 is back on de road. Whilst the cat is still rattling like a bastard, I fixed the permanent brake lights by swapping out the switch. Job also a good un (no pics). Also worked out why fog lights weren't working. Pressing the heated rear window button rather than the rear fog light button tends to do that....

The 420 had also been struggling to start and was idling poorly. Yup, that happens when the coolant temp sensor is unplugged in the bay by some ham-fisted twat.

So, all good in the hood - 5 out of 6 now roadworthy, just the ungrateful bastard off-road.

Another trip out for the VP1500 today, first to Milton Keynes to meet up with the MK Modern Classic Facebook group for the first time.

For some reason they choose me to lead the group 12 miles to the classic car meet at jack’s Café Towcester we were all headed for. To my horror the car behind me was a MK2 Escort that looked like a full Rally car, oh well I can only do what I can with 69 bhp. The Escort started to lag behind so I did not have to use a nitrous shot to get us going onto the dual carriageway but settled down to a 60 mph cruise the rest of the convoy started dropping behind. We all made it in spite of being separated by traffic lights.

On the way home I decided to check the speedo against GPS and found it was under reading 10% so my 60 was 65 mph. As the car started as an Auto and is now a Manual this may account for it.

The show filled the lorry car park with allsorts, just as I like it. So I have given you the oddest stuff.

Very cool, I appreciate the thought/photos  :)

GPG721K is the oldest known surviving Model 70, it being the 111th off the production line (if it was 11 Model 70's older it would be on a J Reg!)

I really want to get some detailed photos etc of it, I have a feeling that may end up requiring me to drive up to scotland and paying a visit to it in person!

(I do wonder how they have it mounted on that plinth like that! I hope they have not drilled any holes into the chassis or such!)
