Well today's news.

I was a few hours from winning 4 x mint OEM alloys and Primacy tyres from a GT86 to use as summer wheels.

£42.

Checked now to see if I was still top bidder and they're gone. Auction pulled.

What a bell end. Does he get what a no reserve auction is?

Puma's only gone and passed the MOT! Bit of frantic parts swapping from the spares car, but seriously happy with that.

Had an awful January and February isn't looking much better. Be nice.

I joined the Mercedes club mostly to take advantage of the discount scheme (wish I'd known about it before I got the major work done).

I haven't been in a one-make car club since my Citroën days but I'm really enjoying the magazine. I was worried it might be a bit snobby but the chairperson's column is about a hand-sized rust hole in the wing of her 190, there's a fascinating article about learning to drive tanker trucks, and a piece about the W203.

You'd recommend it then?

I'm glad i have been married for years. This online dating shit seems grim. Like gumtree but without the 80quid cash 2nite mate.

I do, although judging by the photos I'm going to bring the average age down a fair bit (although that seems normal in any club). I'm going to a meet at the Hendon RAF museum in a few weeks, will report back from there.

I get 10-15% off parts and 25% off labour at the Mercedes main dealer in Brighton which is well worth having. Various other discounts too.

There appear to be three clubs in the UK, which one did you go for?

I got some better JDM mats for my Impreza for a tenner, too. Alas, it's acting something of the bell end at the moment.

I'm sure he does but ebay is just somewhere to advertise stuff to a big audience sometimes, he was never going to sell you them for £42.

Why list them, and state he'd turned the car in to a racing car and they were in the way.

Pointless waste of time!

Psychedelic mats only available in Alcyone/SVX flavour. These are just a plush grid. They're still way nicer than any of the junk IM pushed on Turbo 2000/WRX buyers.

Because people are fickle pricks who use no reserve auctions as a hailing tool. They'll have had an amount they wanted in their head all along (they always do) and £42 won't have covered it.

Please note: I am not saying they are right.

I was cycling home this afternoon at 4ish when I was passsd by a guy on a bicycle with a two stroke petrol engine. Oil smell and noise when he passed. Not a velo solex or anything legit. Seemed to be a small motor attached to the basic bike frame. I do have it on camera, but it’s still attached to the bike, and im not. He wasn’t going a lot faster - say 30 to my 20 and then he took to the pavement on the other side of the road. Any ideas?

The bloke you encountered was an industrious bell end.

Perhaps he got inspiration from Project Farm.

Was it an elderly gent who looked like he had recently written off a Range Rover?

Today was supposed to be car swap day.

The plan is to swap the 19 for something shite rated.

1.00 PM was the appointed hour for a rendezvous and I and the 19 were in position.

Sadly, it's all gone wrong. The mystery vehicle has had an FTP and is currently abandoned on the side of a dual carriageway.

Probably bad form quoting my own post, but hey, what the hell.

The mystery vehicle is the former AS bike C15 that I owned a couple years ago and sold to a friend down here in Devon who is not on here but is one of us in spirit.

We'd agreed a swop for the Renault 19 but on the way to the meet the C15 decided that it didn't want to leave Torbay and expired with complete loss of power. It's possibly shat it's coolant to boot.

I'm hoping it's not terminal but it doesn't sound good.

Arse.

Aye, I posted one such contraption in the pushbike shite thread some time ago taken in the works bike shed. No longer around as I assume the Guards have confiscated it.

Bellend doesn't understand that it is now a mechanically propelled vehicle and thus needs tax/mot/insurance.

ETA previously uploaded photos.

I wonder how much this colour scheme cost to spec.

Quite a few JLR test mules buzzing around the Birmingham area tonight.

You can buy the kits on ebay. A mate has one and can be seen bombing around local lanes and fields. They're quite nippy.
