Ahem. New body. The chassis is fine! It's just that if the body is coming off for refurb/replacement, I could get on and tackle some of the jobs that don't get done very often.

At this point, I think I'd be tempted to get the body off the chassis and really identify the knackered bits. Then I'd probably go the route of whole panel replacement with a spot welder. Inner rear wings are easy (I've done it, so it must be), seat box dunno.

The changing faces over 2 decades of Ford in the Uk.....

The smallest, most modern car is loaded with by far the most options.

But looks can be deceptive. The origins of the engine go back further than the others, and it can rust spectacularly like an 'old' car too.

In different senses they are all in a 'banger' period.

I have always loved those mk2 Granada Estates even when I was a kid

Wouldn`t own one now for fear of it getting nicked and raced

Just waved goodbye to the Polo comet after a years happy motoring,it's not going to get pineappled, first classic for the guy too, indeed he wants to take it to be to get the service book stamped!

This leaves me with my 1974 C90,for the time being....

This is the problem. If I really start getting into it, I'm in danger of stripping the entire body, which I already know is rotten in a lot of places. I just need to be more patient, keep saving and keep well away from Ebay.

SSM ? I'm sensing a disturbance in the force !

We stand in Solidarity with our brothers in the SVM and the SKM.

We're pretty much the same except the cars are vegetarian

This weekend I'm hoping to get even more welding done on the Princess, namely the bottom of that front wing I removed and a little patch that the rear arch needs redoing.  Bit more shitty paint removal before applying fresh stuff and the driver's side should end up looking considerably more solid, if not cosmetically more attractive.

I won these this evening which I'd thought I could use on the Sierra.

I'm. Not surprised as they were cheap, especially with good, legal tyres but what a cock, so I replied.

That will learn him.

Dealt with these kind of people so many times. PUT A RESERVE ON THE ITEM. Then you won't get pissy when your treasured items sell for 37p. Why don't some people learn? Shame as those wheels would have looked awesome on the Sierra.

I think I might let the XM stretch its legs today and head to RAF Cosford to see the Vulcan. A long way to watch a plane fly past you, but it is pretty awesome.

I've just watched the X1/9 being trailered off into the lunchtime sunset

So... as I said in another thread there is a gap in the Doobietoo car collection as the Rover is off to the bridge. The urge to buy was strong and this was my buying criteria....

1. Rear wheel drive

2. pre 1974

3. Moted

4. Running

5. Soft top.......

So in the best  Autoshite tradition I have just bought this off ebay......

Had the stitches taken out of my knees, and they both feel much better for it.

Another 13 days before I can ride or drive again though........

Anyone seen that 28 grand mk3 Capri over on retro rides. Lovely but 28 fucking grand!

That Allegro looks utterly disgusting and a perfect* match for all your criteria. Well bought.

Just had the stone chip in the fiat's screen repaired. Not completely invisible now but a lot better and not liable to spread. No excess either. The lad that came to do it hadn't seen an X1/9 before ( car was probably older than he was!).

Spent whole day waiting in queues full of raging kids and sweaty parents waiting for some rubbish fairground rides that were all made to look like made out of Danish bricks.

I'm knackered but both kids are over the moon.

I'm happy to report that the miniature part of Legoland where they try to recreate real places in tiny scale is full of recognisable chod.

I've seen tens of old boxy Ovlov estates, Discoverys, Defenders and Jags
