Much tea was drunk, sucking of air, but no conclusion was reached.

What's caused that?

Result of my recent job interview today - nosirreebob.

Did go to a colleague on my team who I saw as very much the main competition and am genuinely pleased for him. Apparently was a fag paper between him and I.

Still feels like a kick in the nuts mind, no matter what my brave face says.

The owner's inability to drive the car properly?

We don't think so the clutch plate was in good order and the clutch even worked like this, but when he switched it off the starter would not work again.

bet something went bang 3-400 miles before... then they bought it in as it made a funny noise recently.

Got to be close to writing the car off hasn't it? Or was it fairly new?

It went bang then completed its journey but would not restart. 54 plate so depends if they can get a secondhand gearbox for it as the casing is cracked.

Git of a dilemma for someone! If the zx did that it would be straight to ASM without passing go as its not worth £200 on the bridge...

Got another grill, tried to make a debadged grill, turned out rubbish, couldn't get it to fit as earlier facelift don't fit last of the mk3s so cut off all the lugs, couldn't get badge to lay flat so cable ties all all round and balls to it..

I received the discs and pads I ordered, hopefully get them done before back to work next year.

Probably not though.

Pagid pads and Blueprint discs, nothing fancy.

Spent 7 of the past 24 hours inside a 22 year old Swede...

A bit high mileage and feeling a bit baggy, but the Saab performed its pre Christmas run down to the folks and back perfectly.

At a guess, exploding clutch pressure plate for 200 points; fracture due to crappy steel quality/flaw in steel exacerbated by vibration, flappy bit becomes progressively loose and flappy, eventually skelps the nose of the starter housing and in a mutually destructive embrace everything falls off and gets spun around like the spin cycle from hell.

National Express taster for January confirmed and I'm on a couple of courses that week too. Looking forward to it.

....and we have a test pass at last.

Two dampers, one ball joint and a brake switch later.....

Should've been out working on cars today but have spent the whole day playing Wreckfest on the PS4.

Haven't even left the house.

I'm vegetating at the moment, when I know I should be outside working on the Dolomite. Just 100% knackered right now.

The Golf passed the MOT today so chuffed as it's a years ticket for the new shiter to enjoy. Also saw @Lord Sterling E39 looking rather sad and languishing in the yard there too.

I made the pornservatory into a games room yesterday. All the consoles are in there with the Scalextric so I'll probably be in there until the novelty wears off.

I'm enjoying some time off from work though.

Incidentally there's a guy I was racing against called OP_OMEGA_V8 which I assumed was nothing to do with Vauxhalls but I've looked and theres a whole section on Wiki about prototype V8 Omegas. So its been educational too.

E46. He'll get around to it one day..... I'm not massively bothered about it at the moment. The Vectra is going in soon too.

Down in Somerset for the festivities.  Drove down in the 75 in the end - ran faultlessly as always.  There wasn't even much traffic.  Now full of food and alcohol, and it's not even properly the big day yet.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Bin collection day is different this week and I forgot so Meg has been temporarily downgraded to the recycling bin until I get to the tip.

I have cooked. This is a major life event as it is something I do, rarely. Christmas and the dogs birthdays (I buy them steak for birthdays) and that's it.  I did the lot: Turkey, stuffing, parsnips, roasties, yorkshires and even... sprouts! It took me just over an hour to cook, twenty minutes to dish up the dogs Christmas dinner and then mine, by which time it was bloody cold! Still, it took them an age to eat (and what a bloody mess they made doing it!) and so I got to eat a meal in peace. This in itself is such a rare event it's worthy of comment.

Now feel stuffed/sick and may not eat again until the new year. At least Chester seems to be better - was up most of the night with him and finally took him for a walk (a very slow walk!) at 5:30 this morning. When we got home he finally settled and slept thru until about 1:00p.m. and seems much more himself, as can be witnessed by the dinner he has just eaten. I expect he'll be ill again shortly. Though he is currently under the duvet with me ( both on the floor) while Phoebe is asleep on her giant pillow next to me/the heater.

As copious quantities of sprouts have been consumed, I expect this place will stink like a Calcutta Khasi in about an hour... :)

Only had a small beer with dinner rather than the usual wine odyssey... so I popped out for a Christmas Day potter in the Deux Chevaux. Was very pleasant. 42DD5555-12DD-46E7-A9C7-ABAA2DEC0E8D.jpeg
