Very White Rover swapped for Very Blue Rover (what is it with blue Rovers).

Ken, I would have offered you a 405 auto but with some shit going on at home I can’t see how I could arrange it all if you were even interested...

Ken, don't you still have a perfectly good little Volvo automatic?  Or did I miss something as usual?

OMG not a fan of lowered cars (old age arthritis and foobard hip) but that roverrrrr is gorgeous

I do have the Volvo but that will hopefully be going to a new home soon'ish.

There was a potential swappage in the offing from a very, very nice chap from this very forum for something of a similar size and age, but French.

Looked uber wafty and comfy too. Sadly the insurance gremlins decided that they wouldn't like to insure it under my classic policy despite it being of a suitable age and so on. That old 'what is a classic car and what is just an old banger' cherry again. Hey ho.

So, back to square one. I think I need something along the same size as the Rover just because it's nice to have a larger car sometimes. The i10 is smoll and a bit choppy 'cos short. Rover by comparison is still rather comfy.

Back to ze board of drawing for now.

Just to say........... this place and all that  :D

I honestly reckon you should just run that little vario 340. They are characterful things, propelled by French and easy to look after.

The most famous of breakers is but 5 minutes from my house, and I’d be only too happy to help out with any bits required.

Come on man. Sell the Raver if needs be, but I wouldn’t bother with another unknown car when you’ve got something suitable on fleet already.

^^ I hear what you is say. Makes sense I guess.

Historically I was never really very good with sense and cars. Will try harder.

Oh well, doc appt tonight. Will see how this goes.

I really don’t get it with 405s and classic insurance (I assume you were talking about a swap for 405).

My insurer had no problems with my 405 at all. Junkman did once suggest that they for some reason look at estates and saloons differently.

Insurance. It just gives me a headache as to the utter randomness of it all.

FOAD, is that the AS bike Rover? Thought that was a 3 pedal car?

Is that the AS bike Rover? Thought that was a 3 pedal car?

Yes and yes.

OTOH the AS bike Saab convertible has the correct pedal count, as well as a supremely rorty V6. ;)

Aye Ken, another vote for running that Volvo!

You could take the bike then swap it for something else? People might be more inclined to take it on if it's not somewhere up Scotland.

Also, moar ownerz.

Saab. I like Saab. Had a chrome bumper 99 and a boggo 9000. Oh and a 5 door 900.

Oh yeah, MRI on Weds. Am in agony now.

Hope all is OK Ken. And keep me posted on the Rover, if I come into some money, I'll buy you a nice automatic car and swap.  :-D

Cheers mate.

Rover is still available to purchase or swap (sadly).

Classic insurance means that I am a bit limited as to what would be suitable. For some reasons they don't like wafty French chod but wafty Swedish chod was fine. Go figure.

The leg thing is looking especially shit so if anyone has something that may be suitable then please get in touch. It would be sad to see Rover go but not much choice to be honest, even my walking is getting more shit by the day.

Cheers folks.

I'm sure dollywobbler will have the perfect car for sale for you in a month or so...

Wow man, is this still here, surely someone has something to swap? I'd offer my Rover Sterling but it needs some welding to the sills, a radiator and an MOT all of which I've no time or money for and I'm sure it'll cause you more pain than your current Rover. It does still drive though, just.

It's a shame it's not in rude health itself otherwise you could feel like some well-to-do MP from the late 90s driving around Westminster in it.

I'd only get lost in Westminster Mo. Woeful sense of direction lol.

Gizza shout if you are ever over this way mate. The Turkish place is still here.

I guess a Roffle is the way forward. Just not sure what to pitch the virtual tickets at price-wise.

I don't suppose a 2001 V6 omega fits the bill?

I'll take a random ticket please.

Those Civics are quite cool! Worth the money but sadly in Madchester. Good spot though.
