sierraman Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Peter Simpson strikes me as a bloke I’d like to have a pint with.
chaseracer Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 He is indeed a top bloke. He came to SF17 at the Bubble Car Museum, and I don't think we unsettled him too much... somewhatfoolish, eddyramrod and Bear 2 1

SiC Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Ha! I saw that for sale in my local classic car search. Did wonder who would be prepared to buy that.
SiC Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 If you breakdown or have troubles then Panhard65 (now on TDW) is your man. His workshop is just off Wellington too.
Popular Post HMC Posted September 3, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted September 3, 2022 Always fancied some sort of blown Bentley. This was cheap, and used previously as a daily so I’m hoping for reliability and embracing the slightly faded grandeur vibe. obviously the crappy plates will be binned ASAP Flat4, Ohdearme, B4lljoints and 53 others 56
Popular Post HMC Posted September 3, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted September 3, 2022 Money shot. I can’t say it been a relaxing drive back as I’ve been listening for noises, sniffing for the aroma of impending doom and watching the gauges like a hawk. But so far no ftp and it’s a lovely cruiser. High Jetter Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 I'm not sure if Sir Humphrey would describe that purchase as 'brave' or 'courageous'! I'll mebbe have a random when the time comes! beko1987 1

gadgetgricey Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Think there's a youtuber doing up his Rolls/Bentley on his driveway (My Mate Vince) . Some of the stuff is so over engineered when taken apart. You are such a brave man for taking this on, can only be a Citroen SM next

Low Horatio gearbox Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Immense and well bought, that one looks impressively not fucked. I saw a similar (Broken) one 2 weeks ago for very little and interested me very briefly. Mind it's still for sale, tho to be fair the inside looks vastly better then the outside. CreepingJesus 1

Zelandeth Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 One of these is similarly on my bucket list (well, actually a Silver Spirit I'm actively after, but I'd not say no to that either!). Hopefully it behaves for you, biggest killer of these (aside from rust) is disuse from what I've seen. If they're used regularly and maintenance is kept on top of - based on the couple of folks I know who have or have had them - they're not too scary. The price of some parts on the other hand is bloody terrifying. See also why disuse is so dangerous to their longevity.
