Dumped cars in your area

There's been a few round here like that recently @FakeConcern, straight bit of road, and car completely in a ditch.

Not far from my house is a large roundabout, you can see it for at least 3/4 mile before you get to it, and it's the only bit of road with streetlights on it.

People still manage to drive straight over it, the keep left sign spends more time on the floor than on its post🤦

These have been slowly rotting away for at least 45 years in the woods near where I grew up.

A Mk2 Cortina and an Anglia, maybe a Commer van but not sure of the others.

Been meaning to add this one for ages.
When we originally moved here the car was (more or less) in one piece minus engine/gearbox. It was sat on the top of some old timbers covering a (very deep) mine shaft. They have now perished and the car is, gradually, rusting doen the shaft. This is all that remains - panels and interior have all gone now.

I was greeted with this on my walk this morning and have to wonder how it happened. It's right on the exit of the roundabout, parallel to the pavement and a couple of metres from the road, and has flattened the hedge but missed the signpost.

The rear end of a (possibly quite early) 2CV.

Winner!
In 2011 it was possible to spot enough body panels/teeny tiny thin tyres to work out what it was. There was some upholstery visible too as the front end was present - albeit splayed out flat.
By 2025 most of the car has slipped off down into the underworld and all that remains is shown in the image - last year there were two springs visible - now, just the one:

Is it not the front end? I think I can see the steering arms and a drive shaft.

Don't think the A Class is going anywhere judging by the tyres, and I'm not convinced about the Vauxhall either

It's one of Lord Lisburn's places: https://www.mindat.org/loc-260173.html

This one:  https://www.mindat.org/loc-5076.html

There's a big drain that connects them all - that comes out in the next village: https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/33880?term=Lisburne Mine

From there you can still come up to the foot of the shafts by us - couple of local guys have done it recently- it's a bit slimy and it's over a mile :-(
The fact that the mines are still gravity drained means that (I think) the one with the 2CV is reputed to be the deepest, unflooded shaft left in the UK - no idea if that's true or not.

Mother_Sterling was telling about a small hospital in Moseley, Birmingham she attended to check out their machines and train staff there how to use it. We lived around Moseley many years ago before moving to where she is now.  When checking out the hospital via Google Street View, I noticed this 7-series that looked like it's been parked there forever.

I think next time I venture into Birmingham, I'll be looking to check this out...

Both presumably long gone now,  as they disappeared some time between 2012 and 2018.

I can't see the steering rack? I'll check with my cousin that she's happy with it and if so I'll pick up what I can next time I'm there.

This house is near my Mum's house. It's always had tat packed up with rubbish parked on the front garden. Then, if something gets too old or falls apart, it'll get replaced immediately with another car packed up full of rubbish and put on the garden. I don't know if this is deliberate.

I remember when they had a late W124 parked on the garden, it got replaced by the A-Class next to the bush which was joined by the KA Sport thing not long after.

They've got a fairly long driveway to the side of the house with a garage at the end but there are rarely ever any cars parked there, there is a Saab convertible there which is usually parked at the top of the driveway. It does get used but has been seen on the garden unused full of rubbish. They seem to like their A-Classes.

Rover 820 Vitesse in Birmingham. At least this one seems to be looked after.

I'm not going to divulge where this is as the owner has asked me not to. But he does have some interesting stuff about.

Parked in a sad Kidderminster council-housing estate:

I tried to get a photo of this Focus being eaten by a bush sometime back but my phone wasn't fast enough and the image came out all blurry. It's only in Kidderminster and on a quiet housing estate but you always feel there are curtain twitchers watching.
