Pickup a JDM import? Doesn't look like UK issue.

This house is near my Mum's house. It's always had tat packed up with rubbish parked on the front garden. Then, if something gets too old or falls apart, it'll get replaced immediately with another car packed up full of rubbish and put on the garden. I don't know if this is deliberate.

I remember when they had a late W124 parked on the garden, it got replaced by the A-Class next to the bush which was joined by the KA Sport thing not long after.

They've got a fairly long driveway to the side of the house with a garage at the end but there are rarely ever any cars parked there, there is a Saab convertible there which is usually parked at the top of the driveway. It does get used but has been seen on the garden unused full of rubbish. They seem to like their A-Classes.

Rover 820 Vitesse in Birmingham. At least this one seems to be looked after.

I'm not going to divulge where this is as the owner has asked me not to. But he does have some interesting stuff about.

I tried to get a photo of this Focus being eaten by a bush sometime back but my phone wasn't fast enough and the image came out all blurry. It's only in Kidderminster and on a quiet housing estate but you always feel there are curtain twitchers watching.

That seems a mildly early focus? I'm sure the first I ever saw was brand spanking new on a T plate (a teacher at my primary school, I was in year 5 or 6)

That one is probably quite fucked going by that bush though

The earliest Ford Focus was an S-plate of which there are a couple of examples still about:

So s V-plate is fairly early but not especially.

This one?

I believe this a 1996 Daihatsu Hijet (S100P/S110P) which this is, was sold here but in small numbers. Some mich later ones (mid 00s) were apparently imported here.

The reg P289 TUG, no longer shows up on the DVLA, but this was there in April. It's MoT ran out in 2016 and is meant to be white.

Oh I know they were sold here, have had several hence my name. The front didn't look quite right on that when I looked last night but I think it's partly due to the colour-coded bumper. Also, the panel above the bumper, between the headlamp surrounds, should be flush not recessed.

Ah! You'd know more than me then. I've never driven one, let alone noticed them, I literally just grabbed some info offline. Although I would honestly love to try one of these tiny pick ups.

They do seem to have a bit of following, I can see why. I'd honestly have one, just have one.

Great fun to drive. Mine have all been vans though, slightly more room in the front than the pickup. When I get my Piaggio Porter's head gasket done you're welcome to come down and try it. (All European Hijets were made by Piaggio, in Italy, under licence)

Yes 4x4, and a pickup with a bigger deck too. You could get vans with a LPG conversion, and also electric powered direct from the factory - in the 1990s!

A guy on the Hijet forum put a bike engine in a pickup, and others have too - not sure there's on on here though.

I can't see the steering rack? I'll check with my cousin that she's happy with it and if so I'll pick up what I can next time I'm there.

Thanks!  The rack is inside the axle tube the arms are attached to.  The whole lot unbolts as a unit.
