The FoD is getting a name for itself as a home for oddball three wheeler vehicles isn't it...

much the dismay of @Six-cylinder probably

it will be very interesting see what makes such a relatively old electric vehicle go etc especially on the motor speed control side of things

(ie im curious is it a big ass resistor, several speed tappings on the motor itself or some early high power silicon?)

side note you didn't happen to get a chance to drop the fuel tank out of REV did you? :)

There is no plan!

Impulse buy no forethought, just bid and so we have won it, now what!

This sounds like an excellent excuse to get hold of something like a Gardner 6LX engine and a generator suitable to bolt onto it...

Just stick it on front of your Xmas cards.

Those mirrors though...

If memory serves the speed control on these old floats was done by a thing called a thyristor chopper, which switches power to the motor on and off rapidly - more efficient than a BFO resistor, although I would imagine said resistor could also double as a cab heater in the winter.

A really long extension from the house across the fields?

Do the batteries lift out really easily so you can just run them home, and charge them for 4 days to get 33 minutes of run time?

Or would your jump pack run it?

Would the olocit or spare visa engine fit?

Ok, being slightly reasonable and full of Friday drink, why???

I have wanted a Cyclops milk float for years! This one came up and well, why not?

mrs 6cyl is really a huge dennis fan :P

Perhaps she'd like my Dennis mower then? It's a heavy old beast tho...

Trouble is I am still loose in society. Without guidance from Mrs6C I would still have my 114 SLi. You know the quiet one with a smooth revving 75 bhp engine and a 5 SPEED GEARBOX!

I’d say the 1.3s that had the MG cam profiles and wider steels was a better stealth hot hatch. They were great little things until the clutches let go.

Following on from my thread "can anybody check out a car in Glasgow", the answer is yes and thanks to @320touring this morning the inspection was carried out and the deal struck with the seller.

Mighty fine automobile. Complete with a US flag on the back in case there was any doubt where it was from!

Funnily enough, earlier today I noticed a milk float and several milk float cabs mouldering up the side of a workshop. Unfortunately the place was closed as I quite fancied getting one of the spare cabs to convert into a home-bar counter.

Mk3 Escort, I believe.

Loving this thread as ever...I’m a few pages behind though.

There are quite a few refurbished milk floats buzzing around Bristol city centre at the moment that are owned by the council. From bin emptying to path pressure washing.

This eco friendly badged one has a big smelly diesel generator in the back...

Speaking of odd ball electric cars, apart from the usual Twizzys, there are these things that are operated by DPD.
