Tadhg Tiogar Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 On the way now after giving diesel Borat a wash....
mitsisigma01 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 I was on the way... Field of Dreams jinx has struck again... Last year the power steering blew a pipe, this year whilst sitting in traffic on fkin m25 Mitsi started to lose the clutch pedal, squeezed across 3 lanes, off at J10, done a u turn, limped it home to Halfords Horsham, pedal at the floor... ??? bub2006 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Had this old bitch for 3 months now. Admittedly this has come at a bad time.

beko1987 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 I slunk off at tea time as the kids wanted to sleep at mine but a very enjoyable afternoon, wether it was drifting with @Heidel_Kakao, blowing rust and nuts out of invacar engines Buying shit from @Andyrew or generally chatting and driving random cars! Drove my first ever lancia, and lexus, and skoda its been ace! Hope you all enjoy tomorrow! Six-cylinder, stripped fred, mat_the_cat and 7 others 10

I spotted your beast on the A421 - I must have missed you by about 5 minutes. I did flash my lights but not sure if you saw me.

richardmorris Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 More photos please. I was kayaking support again on the Thames today.
DoctorRetro Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 I think I should have partaken in that sun cream @brownnova... Dominic's pictures from today. Yoss, Six-cylinder, beko1987 and 8 others 11
Yoss Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 It was a really good day. That field is remarkably smooth, even my Skoda which is a bit stiffly sprung sailed round no problem. It is smoother than most roads round here. Those Lancias are truly epic. beko1987, LightBulbFun, Floatylight and 13 others 16
Yoss Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Some more random shots. It was obviously hotter than it seemed as my nose has caught the sun too. The sky looks particularly impressive in this first pic. Shite Ron, egg, richardmorris and 12 others 15
Six-cylinder Posted August 22, 2020 Author Posted August 22, 2020 Then there was the reveal from behind the grey fog, the Visa Cabriolet is home. mitsisigma01, loserone, Heidel_Kakao and 20 others 23
hairnet Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 *upset 2cv *cries theres a samba on car and classic......... the engine makes me do a suicidal richardmorris 1
Zelandeth Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Definitely aiming to make an appearance tomorrow at some point. What I'm driving will probably depend on what the weather is doing. The wind will probably need to drop it it's the Invacar, the ten minute trip round the block to check the new belt was behaving was exciting enough in that regard! Probably between that and the van as the Jag will need fuel if I bring that (not that it needing fuel is ever a surprise!)... LightBulbFun, Floatylight and richardmorris 3
brownnova Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 6 and a bit hour round trip today... 100% worth it. IMG_7169.MOV Rather chuffed to get my first ever drive in a Lancia, and then to get to drive a second Lancia so soon! Also my first tractor drive! Thank you so much Mr & Mrs 6-cyl. Great to see many friends, and meet new ones. And good news @chaseracer my front number plate survived the journey back! BL Bloke, Coprolalia, aldo135 and 11 others 13 1

It feels slightly less smooth on a rear-steer dumper with no suspension and a seat about 4' up in the air... Good to see your Skoda, even if just in passing! Been a while since I saw an early Favorit on the road. Yoss 1
Tadhg Tiogar Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 I thought that went very well. Measured up the air filter box on both the Xm and the E32. The E32 box looks slimmer but longer. Must have another look at the space available in the CX. Must have tried most of the field cars, going clockwise, but couldn't quite get used to the 2CV gearchange; quite unlike anything I've tried before. The Skoda went very well. Trevi gives a whole new meaning to "making a mad dash". We should be grateful it still exists and is working, although it's going to need a lot of bodywork over the years. Next time, hopefully, the CX will be ready to attend the Field chaseracer, Yoss, mitsisigma01 and 1 other 4
Ghosty Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Sorry I couldn't make it, I'm gutted tbh. I got stuck in a closure on the M62 and it took me three and a half hours to get from the southeastern foothills of the Peak District to York - I got to the yard at 1pm, having felt home at 9:20.... As a result I was significantly down on time stripping the scrapper 205, 100 miles the wrong way, and I didn't get home til 6pm. I'd have had to do a significant doubleback to get back on the M1. The 205 was well worth stripping and I've been waiting about two months for the parts, so I can't complain, but it's a massive shame I couldn't make it down. paulplom and Floatylight 1 1
