Stinkwheel Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Very tempted. Will depend on two things.... what my work is doing by then (on furlough currently but may not be by then) and if I’ve managed to MOT a proper Citroen, as I refuse to come in anything else. LightBulbFun and mat_the_cat 2

I don't know what the original wheels were but it had moon discs when I bought it in 2006 and I like them so they can stay. It is a Pallas but the seats have been changed to GTi before I got it. I guess this is because standard Citroen seat material just falls apart. Again they are comfortable and look ok so they can stay. Joey spud, LightBulbFun, Shep Shepherd and 1 other 4

This is not a Citroen event and something I really like about Autoshite is that any car, any condition is just fine. Six-cylinder Posted June 23, 2020 Author Posted June 23, 2020 Camping has just be allowed again from the 4th July as I hoped it would be. So bring your caravan, tent or car camp is just fine. Remember we are not providing any other overnight accommodation. It may be some hotels will reopen by then, but I still think it is better to avoid hotels and public transport at the moment. With this easing of lockdown we are still keen to protect our guests and ourselves and plan to minimise the risk to each other. The good news for you lots is I won't be stealing your chocolate biscuits! Mrs6C, catsinthewelder, LightBulbFun and 4 others 4 3

(if its not then thats fully understandable!) Im wondering If I should put together a definitive list of all the things REV needs doing and things I/we should order up or if its still a bit early for that?
Andyrew Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Yeah parts shouldn't be an issue. I'm not at work currently as I'm one of the sheildy people. I'm returning to work soon as I'm comfortable that my work are taking all the precautions. I'm just not sure on when, it will probably be next week but its up to them. LightBulbFun 1
beko1987 Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Mum asked me if I planned to put the tent up (she's never seen it up) but it won't happen this weekend. Maybe when everything relaxes more I'll see if I can stick it up, but it's a long job! Maybe one weekend when at least me and eva can sleep in it overnight! LightBulbFun 1
Tadhg Tiogar Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Thinking about an appearance on the Saturday, if only to have a go on low-powered motorised two-wheeled conveyance, or anything resembling a quad-bike. Never tried any of these things before..... LightBulbFun 1

Ghosty Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 I think I'll pop down in the 205 as I'll be able to get there and back on one tank of diesel, I'll bring some tools and I'm more than happy to put hands to things, I might learn some stuff. Might camp in the 205 just to see that it is in fact possible. timolloyd, LightBulbFun, Coprolalia and 2 others 5
dozeydustman Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 It’s my brother’s birthday that weekend saturday and sunday are definitely out. I may be able to do the Thursday or Friday Depending on what I am doing at work. I’ll technically be working from home planning and optimising refuse rounds and giving the risk assessments a going over, but only need to make myself seen if I have been given a computer. when do you need to know by?

Six-cylinder Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 What a morning! First task today was to delivery my Citroen AX to a local garage who are going to check why it will not idle and balance the wheels as there is quite a vibration at 60 mph. It was easy as I needed to collect the VP1500 from the same garage who had fitted a new clutch to it. 2 miles after collecting the VP I decided to pull in to an unmade road junction and photograph the beauty, but no foot brake at all I sailed past. I drove it back to the garage on the gears and handbrake and now they are going to investigate. I did note the pedal was not returning properly and paused before it did so. I drove home in the non-idling AX. Next job was to take the Alfa 156 to storage and collect the Peugeot 306 convertible. I drove off in the 156 and adjusted my glasses as things did not seem very clear, if I had put my driving glasses on instead of my reading glasses everything would have been fine so return to base. Before I left again I realised I had lost my wallet, a search of the Alfa and Citroen revealed nothing so that left the VP or the ground somewhere as I had it this morning. I drove back to the garage in the Alfa and my wallet was between the seats in the VP. That was when I noticed the n-s front tyre on the Alfa was very low 12 psi on investigation. Luckily I had a 12 v pump with me but it would not fit into the Alfa cigar lighter, I had my big jump pack with me so dug that out and put some air into the tyre. For the first time ever I arrived at my storage to find my area blocked my several tractors and trailers and while they were happy to move them it took a few minutes to gather the people and a plan. The 306 needed a jump as I expected, I got it outside and was excited to lower hood, but it would not work. Curses, it worked fine when I first got the car so read the book, I did not remember that the hood only works when the ignition is on and the engine not running. Trouble is the battery was flat but I wanted the hood down so much I switched it off and reconnected the jump pact to lower the hood. The 306 is home now and on charge. beko1987 Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Grim! I need to check my tyre pressures, the car feels a bit vague. The worst I've had is lowering the windows this morning to go out, and due to lack of use getting a screeeeeeeeeeech from the rubbers as the glass went down. Been out 4 times today now, doesn't make a sound again Six-cylinder 1
quicksilver Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 It's come to my attention that the magnificent muddy spectacle of Shitefest '16 began four years ago today. That means it's four whole years since my first trip to the hallowed Field of Dreams and first meeting with the delightful Mr and Mrs 6C. We've had many good times in the field since then and I'm looking forward to it happening again soon. beko1987, chaseracer, Floatylight and 3 others 6
Six-cylinder Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 This evening IanBMW came over and fitted the water pump to the 323i, thanks for that. The great news is it all works and we have been driving it round the field. The previous owner of the 323i who I got it from visited this evening and we parked the 323i next to his current 325d. richardmorris, paulplom, Dick Cheeseburger and 4 others 7
