Also nearside door paint is a poor match and the radio/CD would be hard to upgrade as it doesn't have the usual Aux in...

Also particularly enjoying the deliberately wonky/light/double/smudged stamping with the generic "Clive Brook" stamps in the service book, to make it look as though they weren't all stamped in the same fucking 5 minute spell. They could have used a different colour pen for one year though, FFS!

Exactly a little imagination would go a long way!

Also after another quick browse, I can tell you the options circled are not actually fitted to the car...

And to those commenting on the colour, it's called "Hello Yellow" and I rather like it (whichever one of those shades it actually is)!

I don't think there's a car show in the land that doles out trophies for base spec Mk4 Golfs yet.

Also I've driven a 1.6 Mk4, "zingy" is not the word I'd use to describe the engine. I'd more describe the experience as "is this what being dead is going to feel like?"

To be fair, it's the 16v one. It still wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding but it's ever so slightly less rubbish than the 8v. 

Still absolutely no way he's getting that money.

You haven't tried the 1.4 16v version. My sister had one. Grossly underpowered, and would struggle to outrun a 2cv. If you want to know what eternity in Hell is, try the 1.4 16v.

There’s some real bargains to be had on eBay as this  is outstanding value as you can now buy rebadged Avro Lancaster’s for £695.

It’s clean as well as it hasn’t suffered any flak or fighter damage but I would get an insurance check just to make sure it’s not a cat S.
