KruJoe Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Your typical R8 owner these days sounds like a right chancer! Guilty as charged, your honour. Sigmund Fraud, HMC, catsinthewelder and 1 other 4
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Had a few more completely unfathomable communications from the seller. Seemingly I can collect it tomorrow 'if I cancel the sale'. I've said I'll take my laptop up and cancel it 'on collection' cos he's in for £30 ebay fees which he clearly wants back but cant have unless I cancel. Cavcraft and Lacquer Peel 2
Jim Bell Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 This is the most bizzare instance of haggling I have ever heard of.And the cars already sold. Kind of.I will pay you five pounds if you get a selfie* with this fucking chode** in shot. *a selfie is a photograph of ones self, best taken with some unsuspecting cunt-nugget or item of interest in the background. greengartside Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Now showing the listing as 'not available'?? This guy is a complete spunk bubble. Bo11 - give him a shoeing from me when you finally go and collect it. Does he know he's messing with the North-West's No.1 Rover Reviver? Cavcraft 1

Jim Bergerac Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Am I seeing things or does that have a different design of alloy in each corner? Impressive if so. Lacquer Peel 1
Partridge Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Hurrah! What is it with sellers who don't seem to want to actually sell their items? Why bother listing it? Are they hoping somebody will offer them 3x what it's worth out of the blue or summat?
nacho man Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Or sons of anarchy maybe they used to be in a motorcycle gang
Vince70 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 That's great news that you managed to save another rover... So what's your verdict of that lovely little coupe now you've got it back home.
phil_lihp Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Mr B is the R8 whisperer. I'll look forward to this one coming up for sale!
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Went to fetch the SEi last night in the flipping unbelievable torrential rain, why does it always piss down when i get the A-framne out? Its stressful enough as it is FFS. Drove up to Baguley last night, arrived about 7.45. It was on a proper rough estate. I checked it today on Streetview and sure enought heres the Rover: Love the mattress lobbed on the pavement!!!! Think the bloke was pretty astonished that I actually arrived. He says 'have you got anyone to help you?' I had not, so he says 'I can't help you push it you know' Presumably his back was fooked or something. Or maybe some other health issue, he looked like someone who had been laid off his crane drivers job about 30 years ago due to stress and had just sat around the house smoking dope and eating ready meals ever since. To be fair he was friendly enough and didnt give me any grief. For the pushing he volunteered his daughter who was pretty badass and had no problem heaving it once I'd pumped up the flat tyres with my new Michelin TWIN BARREL It was flippin throwing it down, I got absolutley piss wet through connecting up the A frame, which including tyre pumping must have taken 45 mins. His whole family stood on the doorstep watching me get everything ready. One of them proffered 'You alright there mate, I think you;re getting a bit wet' Cheers for pointing that out. The whole time I was there there, was a row happening 2 doors down with some screeching bint yelling out from an upstairs bedroom window to someone out on the pavement "If he fuckin' comes round here again I'll smash his fuckin' face in, I dont care if he or you call the fuckin coppers, I've had it with him the fuckin bastard, and as for you ya fuckin stupid bitch if you go back there yer on ya fuckin own etc etc etc etc etc" it just went on and on and was pretty boring after about 2 minutes. Anyway i got it all hooked up and everything seemed to be in order, lights working etc so i coughed up the £180 and set off (by this time i had forgotten all about cancelling the sale and so had our man fortunatley, cos I dont think he can cancel it seeing as i rejected the cancellation once already). Took it mega steady due to the huge volumes of standing water everywhere, it was fucking unbelievable man. About halfway home i shat myself, as i was driving down a country B-road near middlewich and suddenly the blue lights started flashing right behind me. Its something that has a sort of feeling of inevitability about it while I'm 'framing but I've been lucky so far. There was nowhere to stop that would not be a serious obstruction so I ket going and after a short time the siren came on as well. OK here we go. I put the hazards on and began to slow down. To my amazement a flippin Merc Sprinter ambulance then blezzed past me and disappeared off into the distance leaving nothing but darkness behind me. WOW!!!!! I carried on and got back to the unit without further stress about 10pm. Unhooked the car and set off home. I havent got any photos apart from the above 2 cos of the driving rain and general misery of the whole affair but I will get some at the weekend. The car seems nice enough with the classy SEi half leather interior in lovely nick (only 55k on the clock). I need to fit the radiator and seemingly it needs an exhaust section too but I might have a go at getting it running this weekend if I have time. HMC, vulgalour, Conrad D. Conelrad and 33 others 36

UltraWomble Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Went to fetch the SEi last night in the flipping unbelievable torrential rain, why does it always piss down when i get the A-framne out? Its stressful enough as it is FFS. Drove up to Baguley last night,At this point I stopped - You have my frank admiration - I lived in Newall Green (just down the road and a bit rougher, but not by much) for 6 years. I saw burned out police cars, stolen & on bricks XR3's and has my own flat broken into five times. Its a fucking shithole. I only lived there cos it was cheap and 5 mins walk to the hospital where I worked.
vulgalour Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I wish I could say that sort of show is put on for visitors and the rest of the time those estates are lovely. They are not.
Jim Bell Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The madcap adventures of Bol should be captured in Thomes and be made part of the national corriculum. beko1987, Vince70 and Cavcraft 3
nigel bickle Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Ace Boll.Know that feeling, lying in the wet, hooking up lower wishbones in the pitch black! Hope it doesn't result in a cold. The sinking blue light feeling feels inevitable too. Stopped twice , never knicked - but it'll happen one day. Hope the car proves to be worth it. Awaiting write up with interest
phil_lihp Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Simply heroic. Sounds like it might be anyone's guess what you'll find inside that car.
