anonymous user Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Out The ex-Station MINI Cooper, mostly used by a mate, I hardly ever drove it. I really wish I hadn't sold this one but I was stupid. In The ex-Chadders C15, just back from its Mot, I really like it. And behind it the Land Rover that replaced the red one, just back from major mechanical surgery, so to reward me it has developed a new oil leak and the window winder mechanism that I fitted a few months ago has given up. It is locked behind the gate in disgrace so it can think about what it has done. I think it hates me.

barefoot Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Started the year with too many; 1303/T2/944/XJ-8/Scirocco & a £5 Vel Satis. I can confirm that I have finished the year with exactly the same vehicles. And can also confirm that I have spent far too much on the five quid Renner.
Sam Glover Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 I've been quite a grown-up, this year. Out... Tatra 613-4 KATi Citroën Ami 6 MGB GT6 In... Lada 2106 Rover 75 Tofaş Serçe Fiat Panda 30 Volvo 740GL Hindustan Ambassador ...and possibly a Kalmar Tjorven. Babysat; mended; rallied; soiled; handed back... Škoda Favorit 135L Fumbler, Datsuncog, Bamboocarman and 10 others 13
Saabnut Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Well, 2018 was to be the year of the massive fleet reduction, the aim to reduce the 50+ vehicles to about a dozen. It started off well..... OUT:VW polo TDiSaab 99T 3 doorSaab 9-3 Vert IN and OUT:Citroen Picasso - sold to Bucketeer of this parish and subsequently to other shiters. Suspect dead now. IN:Mitsubishi L200LandRover Disc TD5Maestro Diseasal PENDING:RangeRover P38 Diseasal - heading to a new Shiters home before the end of the month. So, at the end of the year I should be 1 down. That went well* Must try harder, although I am heading to France early in the new year where first item on the agenda is chasing down a couple of 2CV vans..... egg 1
danthecapriman Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 No change here, just improvements to the existing fleet. Volvo still being great! Had a few repairs and things fettled to make it even betterer. No intention of this ever leaving my ownership! Transit now registered as a motor caravan and most of the interior conversion work completed. No problems whatsoever with it. Looking forward to using it as a camper next year. Capri now well on the way to becoming a car again and not a bare steel shell and pile of bits. How it looks now is a million miles from how it was this time a year ago. Just need to make more of an effort to finish it now. Mercury. Finally seems to be behaving itself now and is actually running reliably and is a pleasure to use now. One wedding under its belt now too! Plans for 2019? Keep improving the cars I’ve already got. I’m very happy with the current fleet so won’t be changing any of them.My target for next year is to have the Capri on the road again. There’s still lots to do but it’s achievable if I get my finger out. I’d like it on the road for summer. w00dy, davehedgehog31, tooSavvy and 7 others 10

dollywobbler Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Carried Forward from 2017. Then Lexus sold and replaced with this. Then I sold the Honda and replaced it with half a Dacia. Then I bought a Fox. Then I decided I'd better sell my half a Dacia, as I sold the Starlet and then bought two cars in one day. One last transaction saw the Rover replaced with this. Fleet as it stands:Invacar, 2CV, Nippa, Fox, Favorit and presumably the Matiz. I've not seen that since September. LightBulbFun, Skizzer, Coprolalia and 2 others 5

dollywobbler Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 DW, you forgot about TP the "spares" invacar I knew someone would pick up on that! It landed on my driveway as a parts vehicle, and left in entirely the same way - but a bit lighter. I'm not sure it really counts. LightBulbFun 1
LightBulbFun Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 it lived in your sig for a while, so id say it counts (plus its slightly youtube famous )
Crispian_J_Hotson Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 The discovery has cost me a grand in bits this year which includes the set of tyres and blown HG repair. Green BM cost er... About 30quid in parts I didn't need and haven't fitted, oh and a 20 quid puncture repair! Silver BM has only cost me a hundred quid, mainly due to me already buying all the bits it needed last year plus a bulb. If I subbed the work out that I've done on it this year tho, we'd be near to four figure territory. All are closing to service time though!

bramz7 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Wait, I've missed these three too! Mercedes C270 Estate, a loud and ropey but comfy cruiser.Lancia Dedra, which decided to self destruct right from the get go.LHD Fiat Tipo, which was disgusting to sit in and was meant to be a parts car. I also sold both my Tempra (fucked and the buyer was a utter loser) and my Tipo DGT, which I should but don't really regret. egg 1
jon.k Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 An unexpected year for me as a Peugeot lover... I didn’t see either of the arrivals coming. Out - 406 hdi In and out - 306 gti6 In - golf mk3, t4 transporter Stayed - mx5, Peugeot 305 I now have two Volkswagens and only one Peugeot!
Zelandeth Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Carried over from last year: 1993 Lada Riva 1500E.1989 Saab 900i Auto.1996 Citroen Xantia Activa.2009 Peugeot 107 Verve.1985 Sinclair C5. In: 1975 AC Model 70 (missing large amounts of bodywork).1990 Mercedes 208D AutoTrail Navajo.1973 AC Model 70 (missing drivetrain). Out: Pug 107.Saab 900.The bodily challenged Invacar. Lada is still here despite having been for sale since July...because it's definitely priced at the top end of the scale and therefore is very much waiting for the right buyer. LightBulbFun 1
Mrcento Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Out Black MR2-out this weekend to live a life of luxury in Belgium. If this is from a buyer online, i'd run for the hills, fast Last time i sold a car to a Belgian, i ended up in a 4hr interview with Special branch as they tried to track every last detail about 2 of their most wanted suspects and establish what, if any connections i had with them. Never again. Aston Martin 1

warren t claim Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 Well, I started the year with a £800 Mondeo and ended up with a £20,000 debt and a Hyundai Ionic so that must put me in the frame for the biggest negative of the year. RobT, cms206, clayts450 and 3 others 6

ruffgeezer Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Sold everything bar the Ax (damp) and the V70 (fucked). Bought the missus a newer car and sold her berlingo. Been offered a Carlton Commando but won't be allowed that I'd have thought.
Cleon-Fonte Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 OUT After a good few years on the fleet I found trying to run a modernish car that rusts like an old car and commands the parts prices of some expensive exotica wasn't viable. Sadly the Sirion found itself broken for parts. I still miss it. IN With the Sirion gone I decided to try and restore my shite karma by saving my works Corsavan from the breaker's yard. Then along came this shabby but sound Renault 4 that had struggled to find a buyer. CARRIED OVER Amazingly actual progress has been made with the SD1 but sadly I have no photos of it. I'll probably wear this photo out if I keep using it so much. The BX hasn't been on the road much this year due to various issues. I'd like that to change in 2019. egg, Squire_Dawson, Angrydicky and 6 others 9
