I hoped to be able to make this at the last minute but I've been struck down by what feels like a combination of hayfever and flu so I'm not sure I'll be up to it :(

The weather is looking good so I will come along. Car has been washed and vacuumed in preparation. I probably can't stay too late but I'll be there for a bit 👍

I’m gonna pull myself together, get the MGB out of the garage and I will see you boys and girls soon.

Good man, fresh air will do you good, and all that. It's a lovely sunny morning down here, and precipiation percentage has reduced greatly for today's outing. I might even leave earlier than planned.

The last two standing? I much enjoyed seeing cars in the metal that I've seen on the forum, and chatting with some new and old remembered faces. Kudos especially to @Peter C who dragged himself out of his sickbed to be there. Hope everyone got / gets home OK.

It was good to meet everyone today, I enjoyed seeing some unusual cars and getting out for a drive into the countryside. This was my first Autoshite meet but hopefully not the last!

I also made the trip to see the local yew tree as mentioned in the first post. Having never seen one, let alone stood inside a tree before, I enjoyed that too. Thank you for the recommendation @inconsistant

Brilliant day, I’m really glad I managed to shift some things around in order to be there, as I said it’s basically a yearly tradition at this point

I’m pretty sure I managed to say hi to everyone this time, sorry if I missed you though

thanks to @inconsistant for arranging it!

Thank you to everyone that came along and took the trouble to speak with me.

@lisbon_road We didn't get a chance to speak. Perhaps next year!

Thank you @vtec-e for escorting me home on the M25. I lost you when the heavens opened and traffic started around the M4 junction.

Thx @inconsistant for organising.

Thx to all that showed up, was good to chat.

Hopefully all home safe and sound.

Saw some good windscreen wiper action  in the m25 and even overtook quite a few in the pouring rain  in the suzuki sj on the way home.

See you next year, same place same time ?

A fine event and good to see everyone.  Thanks to @inconsistantfor organising us.

Many fine cars and my pictures would add nothing.  I still think that the Citroen Traction Avant is the coolest car out there, being so far ahead of its time.  Mine in contrast is probably the least technically adventurous.........except of course running on LPG, so here's a picture at the petrol station in Fleet on the way home and the price, which is mysteriously less than anywhere else south of Birmingham.  Hopefully see you all next time.  Perhaps next time we will see @RobT, @Stanky and @CaptainBoom?  Hope they are all ok (I know Rob is ok as away on holiday)

We have one of these nearish to us at Farringdon near Alton. I actually came very close to it on the drive home. They seem to think it could be 3000 years old, though how they know I'm unsure, it's not like they can count the rings.

But there does seem to be a thing between ancient yew trees and old churches where the tree significantly predates the church. Not sure what the connection is.

I wonder if you could maybe carbon date a dead bit of the centre of the tree?

many thanks to @inconsistant for arranging the gathering and to everyone who had kind/nice things to say about REV! glad people enjoyed her presence :)

twas good to see @wesacosa made it with the Reliant Kitten, and @Three Speed's daily driver traction avant is fantastic, it reminds me a lot of @Sunny Jim's C15 in how its got all the little trinkets and bits n bobs that you see in a vehicle thats been owned and daily driven for a long time, and not just a show queen :)

highlight reaction of the day is the fellow shitter who's name escapes me, at the end of the gathering as I was setting off asking me how far i have to go, to which I responded with my route plan and he responds back with something along the lines of "Oh you where not joking when you said you'd been on M25 earlier!"

@Weird Car. I drove past you at this point, shame you didn't get me in shot.

I was going to toot my horn but I couldn't see you so you were probably inside paying, so I didn't.

Also, a highlight of the drive up, on the A272, one of my favourite roads (we all have a favourite road don't we?) I'm doing 60ish which was the official limit and this mk1 Yaris sailed passed me like I was stood still. That made me smile and I thought good for them, smashing Yaris stereotypes.

That's the thing about ancient yews, they don't have a centre, they are hollow. The centre dies and rots away leaving the outside to carry on. But I'm sure the arborists have their methods.

good to finally meet you and to see and have a sit in REV

I was delighted I decided to take the Kitten despite only getting it late Thurs night and having my first spin around the block yesterday evening

Sat at 55 pretty well but was loud. Not sure I'd want to go much further in it until I look to sort the exhaust

Ah no, sorry, I thought that was in the afternoon. I assume it was you in the petrol station in Godstone or else there were two City Rovers in very close proximity.

Glad to make it to Flower farm even though I was a late arrival, there's always one! My first time to FF and good to meet you all and your cars. I was pleased to assist improving the bonnet opening /closing on the Corsa van, and thanks to @Yoss for a handy rag to wipe off the excess lubrication on my skin.

@Peter C I was on your wing until a mile before the M40, when the BMW M140 between us failed to keep up with your acceleration. My last sight of you was overtaking on the outside lane of the M40 slip road heading West, from my view point on the M40 East slip road. The MG appeared to run well with no odours or smoke emitted and easily keeping up with the other traffic. Though I was disappointed to not hear any rattling bass when alongside you!

Many thanks to @inconsistant for organising this. Masking tape and Felton worked well for name badges. Great to meet people and have some interesting chats about all sorts of stuff. All good - nice to see so many different vehicles and people and put faces to names I’ve only seen online and to catch up with some I’ve met before. Never saw the Ewe tree. Will look out for it next time.
