Dyslexic Viking Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Am I the only one who likes the old places stickers that used to exist? And people used to put these on their cars and caravans etc and I think it's a great way to get an insight into where they've been and show a part of their history that is often forgotten. A 1972 Mazda 1500 for sale in Norway has clearly been on a European roadtrip at some point as a example. Stinkwheel, ProgRocker, cobblers and 10 others 13
davehedgehog31 Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 The one on my fabia was less exotic. KWhite, cobblers, warch and 32 others 35
Dyslexic Viking Posted November 11, 2025 Author Posted November 11, 2025 A 1969 Sprite 400 caravan for sale in Norway has been to both Sweden and Finland and sevral places in Norway. davehedgehog31 and eddyramrod 2
HMC Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 I like real / old ones like youve posted on the mazda. In a sense they form part of the history of the car- same as a GB / Uk badge. Controversial opinion (?) i dont like fake or “humourous” ones particularly and have taken those off cars ive bought Stinkwheel, eddyramrod, Dan302 and 5 others 3 1 4
loserone Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 I had an outline of a racetrack on my MX5. Points for identifying it.
Dyslexic Viking Posted November 11, 2025 Author Posted November 11, 2025 @MrsJuular Triumph has to be the one here with the most of these stickers? davehedgehog31 1

(Ayr McDonalds) I should have one "I left Ayr before McDonalds arrived"? Does anybody remember this sort of small, triangular one - kind of 1960s - 1970s - folks used to arrange them into as much of a circle as they could make on a camper van window or the like. Can't find any images online of the full circle so have an individual one nicked from Etsy eddyramrod, Remspoor, cort1977 and 3 others 5 1

Spain via France one year and Austria/Switzerland on another - kind of 1968/1970. My Grandad had a Super 8 cine camera and shot miles and miles of old school, no soundtrack 'videos'. All lost in the sands of time He would bring back those foil stickers for us kids - they were double sided so you could stick them inside the windows or on the outside of body panels and the like. We'd stick them on school books (and lie to our friends just how exotic we were) or the bedroom windows. Dyslexic Viking 1

I think my Dad managed about four on the Herald and got all grumpy when he couldn't move them to the Toledo. (I mean, let's face it - Cumnock, Auchinleck and Minishant ain't New York, Paris, Munich)

I managed to get my push bike up it though, carrying my bedroom (tent), and bought it another sticker as a result! That bike has lots of stickers of places it's been to. comfortablynumb Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 That's a lot of stickers on a crashbarrier that's not supposed to go anywhere.. Used to have loads on my parents old frame tent, wonder where it is? 🤔
stuboy Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 personelly ive never been a fan of stickers on cars.................... yeah right.............. High Jetter 1
Garythesnail Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Have one from my childhood.... UltraWomble, warch and Dyslexic Viking 3

Lord Sterling Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 I'm a bit more of a purist. Although these on my cars aren't necessarily what the cars would have had when new, some do wear them. Must admit, still not too sure about the bottom sticker on the XJ. UltraWomble 1
Tayne Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 Isn’t the modern equivalent a compulsory sticker? The Swiss motorway vignette or French and German emissions stickers.

Can't find any images online of the full circle so have an individual one nicked from Etsy I do, but was always mildly perturbed by how some would be upsidedown by the time the circle was completed. In Norfolk and Suffolk these Kilverstone stickers were a common sight in the 1970s and '80s, with 3-4 different animals (maybe more?) as a I recall. warch, Dyslexic Viking, EyesWeldedShut and 1 other 4
warch Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I like zoo and wildlife group ones. My Landrover had an Edinburgh Zoo sticker in the rear side window (with penguins) until I fitted a different roof, now it has a Koala stained glass type sticker from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland. I wish zoos still sold visitors stickers, they usually don’t these days. My old Landrover rear door still has an early 90s Naughty But Nice (renowned Hereford club night) sticker on the window glass. catsinthewelder and Dyslexic Viking 2
Hertz Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I like place stickers on cars, the older the better. Had a few on our old T25 camper and we added to them with places we went to. I also want to be this person... UltraWomble, chaseracer, EyesWeldedShut and 3 others 6
JakeT Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 The stickers I have on mine are the ‘euro’ ones. Swiss vignette, Austrian vignette, German environmental sticker and French Crit’air sticker. I should have done a little sticker for the countries we’ve taken the car to, I think we’d be at 17 now. Dyslexic Viking, warch and Barry Cade 3
sierraman Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I had a Las Vegas sticker on the back of an X plate Mondeo. It’d never been needless to say, it struggled getting to the airport and back, the clutch was shot. EyesWeldedShut 1

brownnova Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 There were a fair few location stickers on the back of the first Pontiac when I bought it. Probably still there @Rust Collector? Nearly all of my cars end up with a Welsh Dragon and an AS sticker on them. The 2CV gathers stickers from all the camps it goes to. UltraWomble, FakeConcern, High Jetter and 3 others 6
