A lovely Gti went through Anglia Car Auctions classic sale last month.

I was in Kings Lynn the next day and it pulled up beside me at traffic lights.

I like a 309. Tried to persuade my brother to buy a black 1.6Sri in 1990.

He ignored me and bought an XR3i which dissolved in no time.

Once someone pointed out that the 309 has 205 doors and I haven't really been able to not see it since.

Like a Maxi / Landcrab.

I’ve seen two this weekend. Both in driveways granted. One was a white early looking (phase 1) and the second was a black phase 2…

There's one in daily use around Kent - think I posted it on this forum somewhere?

309 estate

Does not compute! 305 maybe?

Unless that hero who makes his own 309 "break" conversions has produced a beige one

There was one very similar to this on Facebook Marketplace recently, located Saffron Walden and wondered if it was yours, but I think the ad was pulled as I haven’t seen it since.

There’s also a JRG phase 2 one knocking around Chichester but I haven’t seen for 6 weeks/2 months

EDIT - facebook one is back up for sale but it’s not @Amelia’s old one.

That looks pretty good to be fair. I reckon that would have sold well once the 305 estate was pulled.

Today!

Heading along the M8 out of Glasgow.

We had a lovely red 309 GTI replica/tribute.

It had a 1.6 engine with lumpy cam and bike carbs. Absolutely fantastic fun.

This morning I saw a red 309 GTi heading south on the M50 as I was driving north.

I saw a rather splendid little Cherry Red 309 in Exeter this afternoon, K624JYD. A five door 1.4 GL still on its original wheel trims. Despite being shiny and honest and straight, it was sporting a nowadays-retro Scrappage Scheme Survivor sticker on the tailgate. Also worthy of the Late Reg Madness thread as it was first purchased in March 1993, the 306 successor only being introduced the following month.

A Style base model, in Cherry Red! Also Late Reg Madness, in that it must be one of the very last cars ever produced to run the old chain-cam 1.3 from the Horizon. I knew they were fitted to many initial 309s as well, but I didn't know that they made it beyond the 1989 facelift! Cracking find indeed.

I’d love to see someone create a Talbot Arizona, just to confuse people at car shows. Bullshit them that they sold them in a very limited run from August to September 1986.
