When @captain_70s gets his on the road it would have been great to take a picture of the two of them together as it's amazing how different they are.

Well bought Eddy! That’s an absolute stunner of a car.

Its great that it’s gone to you too rather than someone breaking it up, and the fact it’s a local car and from the same place you are makes it that little bit more special.
I still can’t believe you’ve managed to find one to be honest! Sometimes things are just meant to be.

TBF they do look a bit of an afterthought.  I do prefer the earlier big-oval and some people do fit them to the late cars, but unless I drop on a complete pair for cheaps, what it was born with will stay there.

But look at that back bumper.  That's not original, in fact I'm told it's from a Ford Pinto of all things.  So I would need a pre-1961 PA bumper as well as the lights.

Wow Eddy, that's fuckin' FAB! I'm so pleased for you that you have this dream car.

I've been in two PA Crestas, this one which was owned by my dad's friend Long John (he was 6 foot 6)

And a black one owned by my mate Dudley, but I can't find a picture of it so have one of his F Type

I went all over the place with him in those cars and his brother's Morris Oxford and he came with me all over the place in my Mini so the Cresta is very much a car I love and have history with, much like you!

I was hoping it would be the Cresta!

Nice one Eddy, Well done. :-D

That's fantastic! Congratulations Eddy!

After all the years I lived in Ulverston I'm struggling to place the background in the photos - possibly near John Morgan's but I'm not convinced? Don't recall ever seeing it around!

Wow!! So you've bought the Omega a great, great, great Grandfather!

Have a cracking 'new car' weekend!

What a purchase!

Bloody hell! What a thing! Cap duly doffed.

Nice one Ed.

My late dad had a PA Cresta (I assume back in the 1960s. Wouldn't have been brand new). Think he said it was a pink and purple coloured one.

Park Road, Swarthmoor.  I don't know John Morgan, sorry.

Congrats Eddy!👍

What does 'er indoors make of it?

She knows what it means to me, so she's prepared to tolerate it.  She really went off old cars after Huggy, I've got ground to make up.

Congratulations.  It's a runner that can be improved as time and funds allow - for me there is nothing worse than chucking £££ on something that has been stripped / off the road for years.

Is it the end for the omega?

Loads of info on the PA, including various unadopted facelift proposals, at Vauxpedia

That's a great website, thanks for sharing!

And what a buy! Take good care of it, I'm glad it ended up in the hands of someone who can appreciate it for what it is instead of a parts donor!

Omega will be going back to its previous owner.  I'm planning a month or so of overlap so I can get jobs done on WiFeY, during which the Omega will be going to Chumley; then the private plate comes off, most likely to be re-Roffled, and I'll give Mike a ride in the Cresta to pick up his late uncle's motor.  He says he's missed it so I'm inclined to think he'll keep it as long as possible.  Which is my plan too.  You might well be seeing many pics of them together!

Well done Eddy, hope you get many years of enjoyment from it! You can take the man and the car out of Southport, etc.

I hoped it was this, and I'm really chuffed for you Eddy, really am.

It's a proper thing for a proper bloke.

If I had a cap, I'd doff it (whatever that means)

So much ♥️ for you on this forum. In these times that seem to be filled with a lot of hate, it's good to see.

Enjoy the Cresta 😎
