The grumpy thread

Not only were all three dimmer switches broken, I was greeted by this lovely thing. A qualified, accredited electrician wired this up 15 years ago. Why he didn't press the switch against the wall, pull back out and check all his connections were tight is beyond me. It's 20 extra seconds to your install time for extra security. I'm not grumpy because of a potential fire risk, I'm grumpy because of the lack of pride the guy took in this work.

Lying telesales wanker trying to get me to change energy supplier. Wouldn't take no for an answer and kept phoning both the business and my mobile until I blocked his number. Even after I pointed out the terrible google reviews this company has he's now emailing me.Twat.

Grumpy day - missed out on a potential sprogmobile (Clio, full MoT, new tyres, recent cambelt, blah blah) that sold on FB Marketplace in under 30 minutes this morning. Then all I can find is fake ads like the crap stuff below.
Then I got soaked through (twice) in the afternoon in gale force sideways rain.
Then it got dark.
Sod it.

Do not live in the UK but I have just seen the M&S Xmas advert.

Burning Christmas cards, song is strange  Meatloaf cover.

One comment on the YT channel I saw it on thought it was M&S's Ratner moment.

Very odd advert, attracting negative comments because of the selfish message.

But there seems to be a school of thought in marketing that if people are talking about your company then that's good, even if most are slating it!

Trick is to find one of the clearly fake ads like the above, click on it, view sellers profile (see they have tons of cars for sale) then block them. Cleans up the feed pretty quickly for a few hours at least.

ok it does that sometime when the wind blows a certain way , but this time it kept going off ...

after mucho pissing about , I found the screw terminal was iffy if the copper lead shook  , nipping up with a 8mm spanner sussed it ...

but the bastard push rod O ring is weeping again , thats a full strip down , heat exchanger , burner and gas tap out ....but some parts are getting a bit old

It seemed particularly bad last night for some reason - they tend to stand out like a sore thumb (I mean, £800 for a 2010 Wrangler? Really?) - I think half the stuff on there is fake/hacked.
Mind you, there are little gems like the Clio I missed. Ad seemed 100% genuine, guy was nice to talk to and even got back to me at 10pm last night to say the car had gone.

Thank you for your kind words all. ❤️

So sorry to hear this Dave, terribly sad news and really does put all our other minor grumps into perspective.

Sweets based on the Netflix series Sex Education. Carbon neutral condoms (image on the right) to make you feel comfortable with yourself.

For a moment I thought that was strawberry flavoured condoms

Mine has been really bad the past couple of weeks, 2 or 3 of these 'sellers' every single day littering the entire feed up with 30-40 cars all like that, so far underpriced you would actually have to be a bit of a moron to think they were selling it (and a ton of others at the same time) all so far under value.

Ads tend to be quite generic aside from the price being a red flag, big tell tale in the description right now seems to be 'Really good on electric'. Aye, i'm sure a Diesel Mercedes M Class (2017 model you have up for a laughable £2800) is.....

Can I please drive somewhere on a motorway and be able to see where I'm going sometime soon?  In the last week or two EVERY time I have used a motorway it's been fucking it down so heavily even with wipers on full I've still been virtually blind.

Morrison's 25% off wine offer is on now. Unlike other stores, not on all wine. One section is 2 for £11, not included in 25% off. Be careful, signs do not stress exceptions.

My husband had an in-office day at the start of last week, and managed to bring back a stinking cold as a free gift.  Which has just had time to be passed on to me.

Yes I know it's just a cold.  However I feel absolutely bloody miserable.

Supermarkets are great at that

Four for £10  on a selection of items for instance , so you'll pick four things up only when you scan them you get charged £16 because while being in the same range one of the items won't be in the offer thus cancelling the £10 deal

A trolley full of shopping and you won't notice

We're currently in Seville , last night I was looking at my phone trying to find the hotel , my wife was a couple of paces behind me when she shouted

I turned round and 2 women were walking away from her , she'd caught one of them opening her bag , northern lass though , she got some choice words and an elbow in the tit which made her wince

You kinda got to be in the city. Its one of the reasons Ive chosen to bring my children up in London. Many disagree it seems though i feel there's value in seeing all walks of life and learning how to deal with it.

Although, this is our current issue in our block.

Cunting washing machine making an horrendous noise on spin.  Took a look (Ive repaired various items on this one, replacing parts, cleaning pipes, new pump, soldered some electronics),  Looks like the drum bearings have gone or spider broken inside as the drum is rotating off centre.  And I have now discover its got a sealed drum,  you cant get it apart as its all plastic welded together.  Bastards.
