The grumpy thread

Although I'm obviously biased it does look like the membership has voiced it's unanimous support on bringing the thread back. Maybe rename it feminine beauty or something similar and mods can PM the whinger and tell him to man up for once in his life?

Didn't we have a grid girls thread going? What happened to that?

I'm not saying you are. I don't want to deny people's bad experiences with cops either because I don't doubt they happen, but there has been some pretty bad feeling spoken about the police before on here (one poster said the only good cop is a dead cop and I think it was here that someone made a comparison to paedophiles) and naturally I don't like that kind of talk and felt compelled to defend.

I guess we all have our biases!

I was so badly treated by (some of) the cops that I made an official complaint, despite a senior officer trying to dissuade me.  That was a long time ago though, in the days when I was being regularly stopped without good reason (not in itself so bad until you add being treated like scum for no good reason).

I have also had some fabulous treatment by and experiences of some outstanding police - I even posted here about the most recent one where a motorway cop let me off a couple of things when he stopped to help me - that was flipping marvellous.  Also I cannot forget the Policeman who tried to save the life of my mate who had thrown himself under a train - there are no words for that level of bravery and commitment.  It is a thankless task that I couldn't do.

Complaints about never seeing the Police or my pet moan about zero enforcement of almost everything aren't meant to be levelled at the Police themselves (at least not by me) - that's an issue of politics and we can't discuss that on here.

Why cringefest? The reactions (imho) are fairly typical to a perceived tendency for serial  'I'm offended' types to manipulate a state of affairs until they get a change which validates them/suits an agenda/allows them to exert control which is lacking in other areas of their life.

The underlying theme seems to be the death by a thousand cuts of transparency and honesty. It's not the subject matter, it's the lack of information about why (complaint) and how many (tail wagging dog?)  that rankles.  Genuinely contentious subjects should be policy - but that is decided ostensibly by the majority of users - not (potentially) a small minority. For the 'girls' thread a poll or similar would have been appropriate - archiving/deleting/tightening of posting rules/etc etc rather than what appears to be a 'like it or lump it' decision based on 1,2 or how many complaints?

The main whingee has enough clout here to ensure it will never return. That’s neo liberalism for you. He’s Won. Like it or lump it.

Red section: Yes that is true. The same with moderation on this forum. Don't like it vote with your feet!

Blue section: And you are not offended by the way the forum is moderated? That post reads as if you are.

I'm very hard to offend. I frankly dont give a shit what is said about me. I can't say I'm offended by how the forum is moderated. There's a difference between offended and annoyed.

Eurocarparts. Twats of the first order.

Ordered a PAS pump for the XC70. Made sure it had the correct unions. Drove in 20 miles have a peek in the box to double check, the pulley flange is broken off reorder for this morning 20 mile drive, new one in the box check pulley borked.

Just ordered one from local motor factors sadly 30 quid more but bet it's right

No single member should have that level of influence. I fail to see any grounds for a legitimate complaint. If I have enough evidence I'll happily name and shame.

Tirelessly trying to dig people out with nonsense like that, as well as keeping on re-opening this 'debate' is just going to cause more arguments. You (of course) know this, so you just carry on. I wish all I had to worry about was two threads being removed off the entire internet (one of which a message was sent to the OP who didn't have a problem with it being gone). I honestly hate to say this, but to anyone who wants to moan there isn't any politics/tits/freedom of speech on here is quite welcome to start their own forum, invite everyone to join and crack on. This, of course, includes myself when the day comes I go.

They seem to be getting worse - choice of two fuel filters for my brothers Navara - took both. Both wrong. Mouthbreather says they're right despite showing him picture of the damn thing.

Ecp look like they may be going down. Who will fuck our orders up then?!

Wirral still has a branch of Motorworld so we're still sorted for fucked up orders.

I'll have to get you to ship down my parts then when I order a wheel bearing for a Toyota avensis and actually get a thermostat for a horsey horseless

Looking forward to the closing down sale, not feeling too good for the poor sods who might end up jobless.

Cutting staff rather than improving their service and being a market leader. Brilliant.

It's never great for the poor buggers who are left out in the cold but provided the head honcho is ok it's all good. A case of I'm alright, screw you.

That’s the end of my ratty Nexia.

Anyone need any parts off it, before I weigh it in?

The Cactus was supposed to give me an easy life.

I parked it at work Wednesday and only just collected it. I don't think this is condensation.

EDIT: It is condensation and a known fault. But can I be arsed to take it in?

Oh crap, hope you aren't too shaken up, aren't the insurance going to want to see it to prove you aren't responsible for the whiplash claims?

What a shame, can’t be many of them left. Hope you are all ok.

This - I wouldn’t be too hasty to bridge it. It’s almost fixable but where would you find panels?

Hi,

Sorry but CBA to read any of the backstory about this (yet again) but there are   "  96 user(s) are browsing this forum " and probably only a few going on and on and on and on (yet again)   so if you want to kick them out please have my support.  I'm off to try a 6 pound bottle of k seal in a k series engine before the scrappy arrives.

4 hrs A&E cos I lumped my head (& existing meds etc). I’m ok. Sore, bumpy, stiff neck, cuts/ scratches etc. Nowt serious

I’ll be claiming off the twonk who hit me. I saw it coming and steered into a bollard, so I’ve damaged no one/ nothing. They’ll pay out pennies so I’m not keeping it around, waiting.

It might indeed repair, tailgate and bumper at the rear. Wing, light and a light hammering, at the front.

But where are the parts, and is it worth it? Engines a heavy breather, car is tired way beyond its years. I’ve a much better Nexia saloon doing nowt, and 4 Esperos if I feel the need to Daewoo.

‘‘Tis a pity. Move on..

Thank f*ck somebody is still aware that offence is not the only negative emotion - I was beginning to have my doubts.

What an absolute bollocks, Nigel.

Keep an eye on yourself over the next 48 hours or so.

I've noticed that, but I'm not sure it's necessarily a question just of political views.  I think it may be just that those on the left tend on average to be younger than those on the right, and thus more inclined to see the world in black and white.

Like the old saying "I wish I knew as much as I did when I was 18".

That's a bit of a bump Mr B. Hopefully not to hurt
