I've uninstalled it, re-installed it, troubleshot it.... still it doesn't show up when I go to, for example, add a photo to a post. It appears in the list in Device Manager, but there doesn't appear to be a way to access the contents.

I thought I was doing the right thing buying an external HD to store my working-files. Now it seems I was totally wrong because the fucking thing is keeping them prisoner!

Drop box? Google drive? I'm chest-deep in a swamp here, it's midnight, raining and foggy, and you're sending me to the shops?

I had the same symptoms when I tried to resurrect an old SATA drive I had kicking about; showed In device manager but not in Windows Explorer. Managed to get into it using various drive format and corrupted disc tools I found online but nearly all the files I got off of it were junk.

They're usually not loud - only audible when you're very close to the drive or it is resting on something that resonates with the noises.

It does make a bunch of clicking noises.  I held it in my hand close enough to hear, and could feel something whirring (silently) accompanied by clicking as if something was trying to complete an action, but failing.  Maybe I'd better have a look at that vid!

The problem is Michael is that it didn't sound as you had intended. It came across more like an insult.

 

Sometimes a joke or a light bit of banter might sound funny to an individual person but in writing it might come across completely different. It's happened to me before and vice-versa etc and so on...

I'm not really sure if I should write this on here or not but this evening I was told that my friend John, Oldford from this parish (owner of the stunning red Cortina Crusader and blue Sierra LX) had only hours left to live.

 

He was told on Friday that the cancer has spread to his bones and there was nothing they can do for him anymore, since that news he's gone down hill fast and had a couple of strokes and is now in a bed in his front room on drugs. The nurse doesn't think he'll last the night.

 

Me and some friends have been over to say our goodbyes with all his family with him, it was awful, he's only in his early 50s and the nicest bloke you could meet as many of you who have been too Shitefests over the years will know and who would do anything for anyone.

 

I don't really know what to say but I hope you can raise a glass to him or just spend a moment to think of him.

No way man, reading that was being hit with a hammer. Never met the guy but have spoken to him online and seen a few pics of him and his car. Oddly enough I was just looking at the "embarassing selfies to usernames" thread where the last pic I saw was with him at a meet some years ago. My sincere condolences and my thoughts are with him.

I was thinking about him today weirdly. I had heard of his situation and I was reading through my Capri thread earlier which he posted in and I suddenly thought I'd not seen him post for a while.

 

So sad to hear that news trigger. Thoughts are with him, his family and friends. I hope he's peaceful and painless as possible.
