Have they suitably raised the VED on VWs now that their emissions aren't what they should be?

I could be wrong but I think the way they cheated would actually reduce the CO2 emissions in the real world.

Certainly in the states the diesel VW's had been marketed as environmentally friendly vehicles. The US hadn't really been that big on diesels other than in trucks and pickups but VW really pushed it as a fuel efficient environmentally sound choice.

Fannies.

You should be able to claim off VW if you could prove that you chose the car based on the emissions - NOT the cost saving in VED, but the actual emissions.

Evidence should take the form of letters and emails sent at the time of choosing the car, which express your desire to save the planet. Membership to Greenpeace perhaps, that sort of thing. A photo of you halfway up a tree at a road building protest, suffering from pubic lice and having changed your name to "LeafMan" or something.

Anyone else is a fugging chancer who was only looking after #1, and your compensation should be diverted into building green energy shite like windmills and whatnot.

Re VW emissions my grump

What sort of Forum is this when the people who IMHO post the most sense have user names of Pillock and Mr Bo11ox. This place etc etc

I bought a 2010 VAG diesel and a V12 Jaguar.  Does that mean I have to compensate myself?  Or mount some sort of protest outside my own house, maybe?

This is the internet, so I'm sure someone will be along in a moment to tell me what I must think.

You ought to start an argument with yourself on here then report yourself to the mods.

How about a sense of fair order, any UK VAG 3k compo application must prove their VAG passes  proper emissions in order to receive it and the V5 is tagged as such. Any UK VAG qualifying and no application then Her Maj Govnt clean air department gets the £3k.

Everything points to it being so (I haven't run a HPI check to confirm but it's insured by RSA, is an automatic and is £4000 under book price because he "doesn't need that much money")

Re the VW emissions thing - my line manager has to have his 14-reg Audi remapped to maintain the warranty...is VW checking to see if they've had a power re-map prior to doing this, so that they can wriggle out of doing it because the customer has voided the warranty?

Good spot. HPI says Motab car under lease until Nov 2017. The cheeky fuck, you can contact Motab finance and let them know if you fancy 0370 6000288,

I'm guessing it's also stolen - you'd need to be a special kind of stupid to try and sell your own leased car

Maybe, the ad's been pulled now anyway. Fortunately I'd already screen shot the whole thing along with the guys Facebook profile and emailed the pictures to Motability.

You just need to get one Daily Mail journalist making a story out of that and it will quickly turn into the end of the Motability scheme. 'SHAME OF 'DISABLED' PEOPLE SELLING THEIR CARS PAID FOR WITH TAXPAYERS CASH AND TROUSERING ££££££"

^ laughably, it's completely true. The only state not trusted to run the railways in britain is the british one.

Having lived in the Netherlands I can vouch for how superb their railway system is. The main reason for this has been constant adequate funding and an appreciation that safety, quality and punctuality require highly motivated staff and that the way to get that is not by endless pointless targets, constant attacks on pay and conditions and telling them they are shit all the time.

Ebay. I cannot even leave negative feedback for the prick who won my sister's car then failed to make contact.

Is it standard Virgin Atlantic policy to give all female staff uniforms one size too small?

I understand we're all different shapes & sizes, but everyone looks better in clothes that fit well.

Edit to add: Yes, I know how first-world and middle class this sounds ;-)

Spotted outside LHR T3, waiting for the staff bus, was a VAA larger unit that had had to have an extra panel tailored into her skirt.

My sister got me Ben Fogle's Land Rover book. Unfortunately, it is the worst book I have ever read. Or rather, attempted to read. Why would you ask that clown to write a book about cars? It's like asking Prof Alice Roberts to present Top Gear, or asking Eric Pickles to write a book about diet tips.

The book got rapidly closed at Alpha Romeo, but that was hardly the start of the problems.

Prof. Alice Roberts presenting Top Gear - what a wonderful idea  :-D .

well here's a pretty crappy grump as I'm not good at this grumpy lark.

for the first time in my life I don't see anything I would like to buy, I've spent the night on the interweb and not one single thing has jumped out and wanted me to buy it, :-(

Its like a backwards midlife crisis.

If you're concerned about fuel consumption, don't fill the tank right up - All you're doing is adding extra weight which screws up your empeegees.

Ermm just saying like,sorry

D'oh!!

People upstairs are moving out, so they asked me to move my car out of the disabled spot it lives in for their removal lorry which was coming at 7:30 this morning. So I got up early, took the dogs out early and moved the car early. It is now nearly 9:00 and still no van outside and as far as I can ascertain, no one upstairs at all.

Not a morning person at all!
