Celebrity status is questionable.

Death is inevitable.

When the grim reaper calls we are all equal;

When my time is nigh I will be called alongside many more worthy than myself

Keith Richards is still here, its nothing to do with righteousness, maybe do what you want and F**** what other people think.

(Without directly hurting other people or compromising their quality of life, I just want to live my own way and not bother anyone else worth bothering about)

So tired. Been up since 545, went to bed at 1am.

Falling to pieces.

Been really grumpy for about a fortnight now, i suspect i've got Shingles - prickly feeling on my belly and back, but no rash. Rang 111 on Monday as it was so bad i couldn't wear a shirt, and they just said take paracetamol, and call the docs on Wednesday.

Keep breaking down in tears too. For no real reason. I'm forty fucking seven FFS, not some two year old toddler whose had his blankie swiped. I'm on anti-depressants, (Mirtazepine?) but they don't seem to be helping. Had counselling in the summer - 6 x hourly sessions - but she couldn't convince me that i'm not completely useless as a son, brother, step-dad, husband, employee. So i tried to top myself. Couldn't even do that properly (OBVS!) took a shit load of assorted pills, hoyed them all up again.

Just had enough now.

Sorry to be a black cloud, just thought if i typed it out, it'd make me feel better.

I suspect the long pause in anyone posting is because we're all wondering what the hell we can say to make things better for you.

Depression is a bastard. A bastard that has no preference or prejudice when it decides to take up residence.

Use the people you have around you, us included (us especially...). The working world is beginning to return to normal and you should be able to get professional help. In the meantime if you just want a sympathetic stranger to talk to, let me know and I'll PM my number.

Virtual hugs

Bob, the problem with these "electronic relationships" (fnarr) and meeting in a field once or twice a year is that we shiters often don't know much about each others' daily lives.  This does not mean we don't care, however.

Remember this, though - and it has been shown every time I've seen you - YOU ARE A TOP BLOKE.

Ay up - I'm also depressed, and I've been on Mirtazapine too. Stopped working within a month. I've also been through a counsellor, as has my mum, and had similar experiences. Not good for much but very basic stuff.

I'd suggest you go to a/your GP and get yourself referred to an actual psychologist, you seem to have enough of a case - I do apparently after all, and I haven't tried any alternatives to life yet.

Purplebargeken is a mental health professional, I suspect he might drop you a PM if he sees that.

The tearfulness is part of the body's response to fighting the shingles, I believe, so don't give yourself a hard time over it!

Only thing I would add is try different counsellors. They aren't all equal.

Good counsellors understand that and normally will be happy to have a chat first.

Either that or 6 visits isn't enough. Humans dont have a factory resset button so it can take lots of time to undo it all.

Is someone on here able to visit outlaw118?

Just put a brew on and listen to him.

ASMM Roadtrip Coordination Dept. stands ready.

Outlaw, you have me whole hearted sympathy regarding depression. As mentioned by Cheggers it doesn't take any prejudice in who or how it manifests. I'm game for coming to Essex. Get out and about or something? Even a cafe and cake.

It doesn't count for much Bob, but you know we've got your back here mate. You might be a shandy drinking jellied eel miner, but you're a great bloke with a decent fan base on here. Words are just words when you're feeling blue, but just remember what you are certainly isn't 'useless' and everyone has emotional patches, not the least of which is down to Christmas and what not.

Now go and stick a Chas N Dave Betamax tape on and do the Lambeth Walk up and down your apples and pears, me old china.

I'm hoping its not the ignition switch, it's been done before. The FCF recommends jiggling the key about as a test before getting the multimeter out.

But the other week the fans went on FULL BLAST for a few days then fixed themselves, and the Blower motor transistor thing was given as a culprit, so I've ordered a cheap one of those from ebay to see if it fixes things before looking at the ignition switch and the relay mod.

Not tried it today, going out to a party later with Eva so will see if it's fixed itself yet.

Right, the fans don't seem to work until I start to drive... Moving the fan speed to full and it turns on a few meters up the road, so I need to drive blind for a few meters then pull over and wait...

Fan speed resistor ordered! The speeds all work once the fans kick in though.

However the cloth I used to wipe the screen internally is filthy so now I need to clean the glass inside as its smeared to shit

I've been chasing a bloody cheap car on social media, so cheap in fact it's pretty much a complete no-brainer. Trouble is despite a few polite questions and hints, he just won't tell me what's wrong with it. Obviously there's a chance it's free of major faults, but no matter what questions I ask about the mechanics, bodywork, roof etc all I get it 'come and see it'.

It's not far away but I just get the feeling he's hiding something (and I've said that to him) and a few other people have viewed it and walked away. Anyhow bollocks, he can shove it.

I was working Monday... WVMing across the Tyne Bridge, as one does... poor soul hanging onto the OUTSIDE of the brige railings :(

Someone was kneeling on the path - likely pleading with the poor soul & bizzies had just pulled up.

Hope that all ended well.....

I had that on the Tay bridge once. We were walking across the footpath in the middle when a slightly dodgy looking guy passed us coming the other way. I sensed that he hadn't kept going and looked back to find him clambering over the barrier and crossing the road to sit with his legs dangling over the river.

I dialled 999, the police sent two cars and a van over. The two cars held back and formed a rolling roadblock, the van went ahead and a copper leaned out and grabbed the guy. No pissing about, I'm not certain they even stopped and I doubt the drivers more than a few cars back even noticed anything was up.

I think they have to deal with that sort of thing quite a lot. :(

I would think so. I'd hate to think they had that part of the operation so well rehearsed without giving any thought to what happened next.
