The grumpy thread

I find it incredibly stress-relieving to actually write out a carefully-worded and highly literate email to a person who's annoyed me, stating exactly what I think of them, for extra points I use at least half my obscenity vocabulary. Then I hover over the send button, just to remind myself that I could utterly ruin their day, if I wanted. One day I shall doubtless send one by mistake, in which case I'll spend the last few minutes of my employment doing everything I've always wanted to do, before being asked to leave/arrested.

Alternatively, a good way to make yourself feel superior is to spend at least 45 minutes manically scrubbing the 'kitchen area' clean. If anyone comments about how long you're taking, ask them what's wrong with basic hygiene, then remark that you'd hate to think what their house was like. For the next few days, every time you speak to them, grimace slightly and keep at least 10 feet between you.

E-mails about petrol prices. Once was enough but shed loads of the fuckers arriving in my inbox every twatting week is fucking annoying.

If your boss is a complete tosser who happens to own a nearly new Astra/Focus etc then you may find it good therapy to rent an identical example, borrow his rear number plate and then go for a quick drive through some speed cameras.

Really fancy a SWB land rover of the 2.5 perkins persuasion. Someone talk me out of it please because I know it will be a bad idea and cause much financial pain.

Which 2.5 perkins is that?
Is it not a perkins then? Shows you how much I know and why any Land Rover will be a bad move - woman at work has offered me her Freelander 1.8 on a 52 plate for £1500 and I know thats a real bad move, but Im still considering it....

Anyway on a grump - some cunt ran over my pussy yesterday and burst it. Didnt even stop. Witnessed by a neighbours kid who is in bits.

Utter twat.We are (hopefully) moving at somepoint. House has fields and stuff behind it but a reasonably busy road at the front. That ^ scenario really bothers me and I'm rather tempted to keep the cats inside :?

Same here, other cat never ventures out front its happy with the fields out the back, but the one that got killed used to follow us to the shops. Every morning it had the same routine, go out, crap on neighbours garden (I dont like them much so that never bothered me) cross busy road and go and nick food from bins of cafe. Only it didnt make it across the road.

Sorry to hear about the cat. Same thing happened to one of our adopted ones a while ago. Bastard minicab driver didn’t stop either. Not a legal obligation I know, but you'd think some sense of decency might prevail. Apparently not.One of the current visitors used to stand in the middle of the road completely oblivious to the traffic. Now he seems to have had some sort of scare as he bolts when anything comes. Another one has the worrying habit of running behind or under the car as I’m reversing it into the drive. Not good.

Shit, terrible news about the kitty - I bet you're gutted. I'd be devastated if anything happened to mine.:cry::cry:

Our mog almost got totalled in traffic about 4 years ago, cost me £740 in vet's bills. Daft still thing hitched rides on the roofs of cars though..........

sorry bout your cat  i have one exact same.. miserable bastard called fleabag... and 2 ragdoll cats... oh and a staff cross that thinks its a chihuahua and 5 chihuahuas and 9 chihuahua puppies :D

shitty that about the cat, in france its ok not to stop if you run over a cat but illegal if you run over a dog, plus in france its covered by your house insurance should it get run over, how bizarre :?

Having to sit through Ebay's Vero school. If i want to flog a sealed copy of Windows then I will you MicroSoft lackies... I'm cross as I recently flogged about 10 bits of software that were all OEM and they didn't do a jot about those... Luck of the draw I think as there's plenty more still listed. :(

Since moving in 2006, we've lost three cats. Of course, no-one stopped, but the neighbours did kindly come and tell us about the last one at least. Soil is like clay here. Bloomin' hard work...

So sorry to hear about your cat FT  Though I'm not keen on the photo as he looked just like our cat Kai :?

No work again. Thats the problem with being on an agency. Its like being made redundant... but your still employed.ZERO HOUR CONTRACT KICKI'N IN Y0.

Sorry to hear about your car FT, but probably not as sorry as you will be if you buy a Freelander.

Tigger, our first cat got run down :( then the second one, Mungo never came home (I think he got rat poisoned round a neighbours chicken house) then finally Charlie, who we had for quite a while just disappeared. Apparently he had an irregular heartbeat, so I think he knew he was a gonner. Cats know when their time is up, so often go somewhere quiet to curl up and die. My Nan often found the remains of farm cats at the backs of barns and outbuildings when they cleared them out. After Charlie went I decided not to bother again. :(

Sorry about the cat FT.I've just got home from work to find our cat is in the vets having being hit by a car. Boyf said it was a choice between "pay up or put down" Thankfully we have pet insurance, and if that doesn't cover it we'll add some I'm sure.I don't mind spending the money (to a point obviously) as long as his quality of life is maintained. If he can't bitch slap the dog anymore, then its just not good enough. Our road is a dead end, and very few cars need to use it, unfortunately some people think its ok to use it a drag strip because its nice and quiet, but quite apart from the cats, there are lots of elderly types and a few little kids living round here. Our neighbours came banging on the door late one night a few months ago because they'd found a cat on the road, not ours, but I had an idea who's it was. I took it to the vets with them as they were so upset and was hosing down the road after midnight. Poor thing didn't make it. :(

Got an e-mail from HomeLets querying my housing application. They're concerned that the process will be delayed because my place-of-work hasn't contacted them.

So I ring HomeLets up and tell them that I wrote the works number on the application form so THEY could ring my workplace to obtain said reference (as is the norm with most other application forms asking for referees) followed by a question along the lines of:

"So how is my employer going to contact you if they don't have YOUR number..?"

"Errr.." came the reply.

I seriously f**kin give up.. !!

+1 for the soz about the cat. What is your other cat making of it?Fingers crossed, traffic on my road is usually going fairly slowly as it's fairly narrow with lots of parked cars (several of them mine  ), and both my cats seem to know to get out of the way when there's a car coming towards them. I've had a total of eight cats since I was a kid, not had a huge amount of luck with them - the first one had to be put down when his kidneys went (he was 18), the second one got run over, then one disappeared, one fell off the balcony of my parents' flat and died, one buggered off to live with someone else (not a huge loss as he was a psychotic little fecker), one just keeled over and died one evening in my living room for no apparent reason, and I still have two, although one now very rarely puts in an appearance - I'm always a bit worried when I don't see him for over a week as he apparently has a heart murmur, although he's always seemed healthy enough. The other one spends most of her time curled up on a blanket in the porch, although she follows me around when I'm outside, and she now recognises the sound of the Espace - whenever I pull up in it, even if it's quite a way down the road, she'll invariably pop out of the catflap and come to say hello. Cats are GR9 - I'm hoping the current two manage to last out their natural life span. :?

More Renner rantage. Bought a replacement heater control panel yesterday from somebody on RR. Plugged it in, and it does exactly the same thing as the old panel did (i.e. bugger all of any use). So either I've got two equally and identically b0rked control panels (unlikely, one would hope), or something more serious (read: buried further back inside the dash) has gone wrong. I've tried the recommended "ctrl+alt+del" sequence for resetting the panel, but all that's done is to make a different set of LEDs flash uselessly. Balls.

Im really saddened by your loss FT. Cats really are best. We've got 4 ourselves, all housecats (we live city centre, next to the main ringroad, but also next to the city park. Unfortunately, there has been instances of cats/dogs/kids being shot with BB guns in said park)Our oldest is 16yo, blind (supposedly) and toothless. I dread the day he's not around anymore

Sorry about your cat FT, it's sad when it happens - as a kid I grew up next to a main road and countryside and we stopped counting how many we lost.

Frigging hell, a 20 year old cat? Is that normal?Im sorry to hear to hear about all these tales of cat expirey. I know how much it sucks when a well loved pet shuffles off from this life to the next, or whever dead pets go. I gotta confess though... im no cat fan. I witnessed our Guineapig, Chris being munched by a ferral looking tomcat when we let him out for a mid morning garden roam. Vets bills came to 90quid odd but he still died. Maybe I should have charged the cats owner?Cats also like to piss over Rabbits and this can really feck them up. Stay in your own garden. pesky cat.
