Unfortunately over here in Florida that's not entirely true in the newer neighborhoods They all have covenants and restrictions as to what you can and can't do, even down to what colour you paint the front door!

Sing it with me, everyone.  One, two, three,  "In the laaaaand of the freeee...."

Labs are smelly bastards anyway, mine does the kind of of sulphurous, rancid pumps you can actually taste, regardless of what we feed him

I religiously only feed him his dog food, he never begs for food,we don't feed him from the table and he's happy with the food he has.

I'm currently dying on the sofa as his farts want in my direction and then I remembered.....

I gave him a bit of saveloy at lunchtime :0

Banks. They keep closing branches because they're not getting custom but has it never occurred to them that the branches are never actually open when people are able to use them? My dad has never actually been in the bank because it's only open from 9am to 3pm weekdays when he, like most normal people, is at work. A new bank is opening on the university campus and is boasting "special long opening hours" for the benefit of students. Great, I thought, a bank that opens evenings and weekends that normal people can use, but no, those "long hours" are 10am to 5pm Wednesdays, 10am to 6pm for the rest of the week and nothing at all at the weekend. In any other business an 8-hour day like that is the norm so it says a lot about the banking industry that they consider what is normal elsewhere a special long duration

Still, it suits me better than my current bank, whose 'local' branch is now 12 miles away after they closed the one in town 'in order to serve their customers better'.

The sooner everyone realises that banks are run like every other business (and have nothing but its own interests at heart), the better. Like insurance 'logic', banks are similarly bereft of reasoning.

Think yourself lucky. My local branch is open three mornings a week and doesnt handle cash. Want to withdraw some? I have to give them 4 days written notice . Thing is.....its four working days notice for that branch and since its only open 3 mornings a week its up to 11 actual days before I can get my own money out of them. Or I can drive 20 minutes to the nearest cashpoint and withdraw up to 250 per day, with a max of 1000 in any rolling seven day period.

Farce.

Metro bank ftw. Open till 8 and open 7 days a week. Great customer service. Sadly only in SE at moment but cant recommend.them.highly enough.

They print cash cards on premises so if you lose it, wander along on a Sunday morning printed and replaced there and then.

FFS. After ten years of owning shit cars and running a scruffy old van etc etc, I finally get something presentable, unpainted and without any damage on the body at all, and some fucker in a tesco delivery van has just reversed into outside my house and cracked all the front bumper. It's red too so unless they paint half the car, I'm going to have to have a car that looks 2 different shades of red when under streetlights.

My neighbour came round to tell me it had happened, it's lucky he did because he reckons the tesco bloke was about to drive off as well. At least I have their insurance details I suppose.

This morning I stayed at home waiting for a delivery that has so far not turned up, and I am now waiting for Autoglass to turn up to replace the windscreen on the boring.

I could have been productive today if I had known no-one was going to turn up before 3pm.

Went to the scrap yard today and managed to find a decent used radiator for the ignis, spent ages trying to change the thermostat but gave up as its in the most inaccessible place ever, was getting tired and a bit fed up twatting around with old shite by then so wanted to crack on, in my haste re-assembling the car I managed to put the corner of the cooling fan bracket through the nice new (old) radiator :(

So a day wasted, and its still not sorted, I'll have to buy a new one now, fucksticks....

Air fresheners.

Why do they still use ingredients that melt plastic?

Will have to get a new lower cowl for the steering column.

Dont buy expensive plastic welding kits - spend £10 on magic trees - they will do the same job.

My earlier grump about the 1950 Plymouth is slowly turning into a grin. I went to see the car today and chatted to the son of the owner. The car has been modified and now runs a Chrysler 440 engine, TorqueFlite 3 speed transmission with a Ford 8 3/4 rear end. Want level on this is now CRITICAL. I have found a place to store it too.

Turns out he's pretty desperate to get rid of it and now only wants $2000. The engine and transmission are worth $600-800 alone.

I just need to convince Mrs DF that I need a 3rd car...which is the hardest part of all (and my initial attempt failed miserably) hence why this is still a grump and not a grin.

Banks. Yeah, we have some "late" opening days too, except even if I knock off at a normal time I can't make it to their late hours. That should tell them something. They direct you to phone banking (which needs a pin number I've never had) or the internet, which is OK for some stuff but other times it suggests you visit a branch to complete that task.

Farce.

I've just noticed how similar the words Farce and France are. Coincidence?

One of our cats 'fuzzy' went missing on Thursday night, we spent yesterday looking for him with no luck so flyered the houses today. Mrs gm got a call from a lady down the street who had found him, we think he may have been hit by a car.

God bless you Fuzzy, you will be very sorely missed but never forgotten.

Really sorry to hear about Fuzzy,Miss_155 has had a similar thing happen twice in the last few years & I know how hard it is  :-(

Well, it started again....

Wanker neighbours nasty little son had invited his equally nasty little chav mates to kick footballs at my hedge/near my car yet leaving other places alone.

Twats. I'm leaving here soon, I'm not going to let Mrs_Sterling suffer these twats.

Very sorry about your loss.

It boils my piss when people cannot even be bothered stopping.

Sorry to hear about your cat GM. We lost one of ours in similar circumstances a couple of years back, so know how difficult it is :(

Still struggling a bit after the loss of our cat a few weeks back. House does feel a bit empty. Mind you, there are less shredded mice over the floor, so you have to look for the positives. Especially as our hideous carpet is great for hiding mice-halves.

As a newcomer here, I am touched that you have taken the time to post such kind words. My sincere thanks to you all.

We are both missing Fuzzy terribly, I find myself looking out of the window, expecting to see him come bounding across the garden looking for a feed, It's very sad.

I know it isn't the right time yet but you both sound like perfect fur carers and all of the cats/kittens in shelters need folk just like you.

Maybe, just maybe when the time is right, you might consider another cat companion? I do hope so, as you obviously totally doted on Fuzzy  :-D
