I had someone interested in the 320d. 2 miles down the road it went all disco biscuits and pinged up abs and traction control lights. Oh and I found out the oil leak on my 5 series is a right shite hole to fix.

Bahhhhhh

The miserable dog on Ebay cancelling my 99p bid on a set of cheap ass allen keys after a week, if you want more then don't start at 99p...

In 3 days time I'll cancel my bid on his Vespa reed membranes just when he thinks he's sold them.

Slippy McTeefive may have to be released back into the wild.

Hate to say it, but it is very hard to remove a lodger from a house, so you're in a strong position. I'd reply that the end of August seems a better date.

Depends what the terms of the lease is. My lease with my tennants is 2 months notice from either party during the term of the lease. Which reminds me I need to do a new one. Even if it is expired and its a periodic tennancy, then I thnk its a month. Would need to check that though.

Aye, but my point was, plasticvandan can't both have to move out within a month and have to keep on paying rent until August.  If he's paying rent until August he can stay in the house until then.  If the house is to be sold before then, he doesn't need to keep paying rent on it.

Moving is never cheap though.  If I have to leave a place I generally withhold the last month's rent on the old place and use it for the deposit on the new.  Landlord of the old place can take the last month's rent out of the damage deposit, and sort out any shortfall at a later date.  That still leaves moving expenses and other fees though - although these are a lot lower if you avoid going through an agency and deal direct with the landlord.

Since nobody is going to do anything about the C2, I brought it home from the dealership.

What a piss-about....ever tried loading a car that is locked in gear onto a beavertail trailer using only a pissy wee hand-winch? Fortunately, the guys at the garage were sound and all pitched in to help. It had to go on backwards and as I winched, they raised the front right off the ground with a massive trolley jack and a jenga-style tower of wooden blocks.

Strapped down, perched right on the rear edge of the trailer, it was a fun* drive home with negative noseweight and all the weight right out the back of the trailer. I then had to unload it without their big jack. I didnt trust my Halfords two tonner to roll on the rough cement of the barn floor so I kicked some life into the Landrover and just dragged the bloody car off brutal-style.

Removed various plastic junk to get at the top of the gearbox so I could get a spanner onto the actuator servo arm and shift it into neutral manually with a BFO spanner and some force. It still wont start - no clicks, no relays, nothing. The various dash lights seem to come on and off as normal, but it just flashes the word "AUTO" in the gearbox display and thats all it does. Occasionally there are ten or so rapid buzzy clunks from one of the gearbox actuators, which it never used to do, but after that, Im stumped so until I receive the diagnostic voodoo box I have ordered, not much more I can do.

Oh and at some point in my pissing about, I have done something to the drivers window which will now not close.

I can see this thing ending up getting weighed......

All fucking moderns are fucking shit. Especially Sensodrive-equipped C2 VTRs.

^ This. If you're still within the Assured Shorthold Tenancy term then I can't see that the landlord can make you move out before the end of the term anyway. Plasticvandan - you  might want to consult with the guys on here: http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?3-Residential-Letting-Questions - many tenants post issues on there and the landlords tend to be very helpful as most are professionals and it really pisses them off when other LLs break the law.

By the way, you are NOT a lodger. A lodger is an excluded occupier with very few rights and tends to be in a 'live with landlord/lady' situation. Tenants have a fair bit of protection under law and rightly so.

Ah, I see. Apologies.

Somerset conked out and failed to restart 1/2 mile from home. That isn't the grump, what is the grump is nearly getting mown down by three of the "lycra warriors" that blight the roads in this corner of Essex every weekend. And one of them having the cheek to shout that I should have looked where I was going. Fuck off you inconsiderate boring twat, get back in your BMW and head straight for the nearest cliff please.

Is this car the same as Renaults QuickShiteShift5 ?

.... also based around FIAT Selespeed.

If so, when you open the drivers door, a 'bzzzzz' [from under the car] is the pump priming the shift hydraulics pressure vessel  :?

Mrs PBK's Micra. It's bog standard red, has faded bits, has parking dentlets and scuffs. It has just over 40,000 miles on the clock. It's an R reg and she loves it. It's worth about £300 on a good day I would imagine.

Yet some cunt still has to come up to it and put a scratch on the wing. Well that was fun for you wasn't it you brainless fuckwit!

Get the Fiat to back up a bit or get a mate to park next to driver's door.

Let the twats tyres down and then park 1mm away from his car. Then sit in the garden dressed in shorts and a vest, swig from a Tennents Extra can (you can just pretend if you want) and glare randomly around whilst talking to yourself in a variety of very bad accents. One of which MUST be Scouse.

I dont think so, no. This system uses electric solenoids to shift the selector lever and clutch arm, rather than hydraulics.

Hit a bird while out in the vectra.

Felt it hit, then the bulb warning light illuminated - n/s fog light inoperative.

Bulb was £7, you can only get to the light by partially dropping the underbelly panel - just as well i had to go looking as the wires to the light had chafed very badly on the panel - i had to get the electrical tape out.

I would'nt have been as keen except that the MOT is due on Monday.

gone now, I think he was viewing the house next door that is for sale, probably should have let his tyres down so he'd buy a house elsewhere

Just had my AA renewal, gone up from £6 a month to £15.90! How the fekk do they justify that. I know that I can get it for the new customer rate, but that is still £9.60. 50% increase.  Seems bloody ridiculous to me.

Doesn't help that I haven't slept at all since Thursday and I'm buggered and a bit grumpy.
