I completely agree with the statements about venting by shouting at things,

Vulg obviously I don't know details or circumstances but it really does sound as if someone is attempting to change you for the worse and in my opinion if someone wants to change who you are they aren't worth a second thought because obviously they would accept who you are unconditionally if they cared for you, I'd be seriously looking at standing your ground and letting them know Its not happening or getting away from them asap if I was you before both your physical and mental health suffers

You'd be surprised how much built up tension this can relieve. Shout at things Vulg, you'll feel the benefit. I had an argument with the toaster the other say and it felt great.

Vulg, I don't know if you remember but I wrote a couple of years ago when a very close person to me in my life aimed some rather vitriolic criticisms at me during a rather heated family meeting. The comments were hurtful and rather over-played. It felt like being shot/stabbed, it really wasn't nice and not something I wish to go through ever again. I remember getting some support from friend on here, particularly Dugong.

I've said this many times but sometimes something like this can be a blessing in disguise/kick up arse. Things don't always come easy or fast otherwise you wouldn't be where you are. You need to reach the bottom before raising again, and believe me, sometimes when you think you've reached the bottom, something else comes along to bring you down further.

To get where I am now took a bit of determination and luck. I am now out in the world on my own and for the first time in my life, I feel like I'm going somewhere. When it comes to my own personal possessions, I am stubborn, I have had "comments" made about my possessions, but I always remind those commentators that my things are MY things, I worked hard and paid for them myself so it's up to me and only me what I do with them, I don't wish to hear/see comments about what i should do with my personal possessions from anyone.

Just think of it that your current situation won't last forever and you will see a day when you can actually smile again.

Vulg, obviously I don't know the ins and outs, but I'm 26 and was in a similar situation last year,my sister and her boyfriend together with my mum,who I was still living with (same house since I was born) decided that they were moving in,together with all their stuff.this left me,my sheds full of stuff and my cars in a situation where I had to get out,and make sacrifices, but ultimately be happy.I moved in with the Mrs,sold or binned most of my stuff, kept all my tools though,as I couldn't replace All that. I don't have a workshop, driveway or any whereto work on stuff any more,at the moment, which is shite, and am having to run around on a Honda c90 as I can't afford a car or have anywhere to fix it,but I'm happier, and have more mental freedom, been learning to play keyboards,my madness record collecting has restarted, making models etc. Looking in I can see similarities, you have two princesses, one dead, and one always trying to join it,and perhaps they would rather not have you there any more (my mum hated my activities despite being nice to my face) I would sell up,move out and start again, use your drawing as a means of focussing your mind, and in time you can start again, and if it was me I would never go back :-)

Cheers for the comments, all, I do appreciate it.  I have contingency plans for myself and for my cars, the only one I'm definitely not parting with is the beige Princess, I've been told by a few trusted people that I'm not allowed to do that, they recognise it's important to my sanity, what little I come equipped with.

I guess I'm just making a lot of back-up plans at the moment and one was just making people aware things are a little shaky for me here.  Weirdly, I'm not upset or panicking about this, I'm just really angry that it should be happening again and that I feel like I've somehow allowed it to happen while I've been burying myself in work to try and dig out of a hole taking a chance on turning a bit of profit with projects and the like.

I have a better job opportunity, living arrangements and all that good stuff on the horizon, it's just a bit of a trek to get there from here.  Things will get better providing I keep my wits about me.

I know that it's from the Gruniad but still it reminds me that while the Daily Mail is one of Britain's leading newspapers, part of my allegiance to this country dies a bit more.

If it's any consolation, the Daily Mail's average circulation last year was 1,863,151. The population of the UK is 63,000,000.  :-)

To me, newspapers are like politicians. They're all in the business of telling lies to however many idiots they can convince to buy them.

They can all FRO as far as I'm concerned.

Angyl. I'm crap at advice and 'There, there, it'll be all right' platitudes but I'll send some Karma through the ether, I hope it finds you in good order & your shit improves soon. ;)

Getting legged off a mental looking swan by the canal this morning. That's the second times in two weeks and the bastard nearly had me today!

Found my old Peugeot 106 last night whilst browsing on Gumtree. Sad to say that the current owner gives not one fuck about the car and it looks like it's not seen a car wash since I sold it. It's M.o.T and tax are out soon but he still wants £250 for it! Mental! It's a shame as it's the car that I had when me and SWMBO first got together.

Yesterday i declared summer and put me winter tyres/wheels in the garage and me summer set on, so the weather is down to me.

Probably be 2 ft of snow by the end of the month.

Good to know I have someone to blame, the hail earlier was particularly nice* to be caught in.

Had a note on my car saying don't park here...

Was parked in the free for all car parking bit opposite our garden, which has a space belonging to our hose.

Put another note out saying we live here, so do one. Hopefully they just haven't seen my car before and will realise.

Otherwise I'm up for a war!

Despite numerous Facebook group postings, a scrappy visit and a local eBay trawl, I have failed to a second hand battery to stick on the ax tomorrow.

Well, seems that yesterday I acquired the standard Autoshite injury - something in the eye - which necessitated a trip to hospital. Which after a three hour wait turned out to be that rather than having something in my eye I had actually managed to take a small chunk out of it.  So I ended up with one eye full of painkiller followed by yellow dye to diagnose that I had a bit missing but that it should all be fine within a day or five.

Vision this morning is a little odd out of one eye but I look a bit less frightening than I did yesterday.

I have also discovered that having yellow dye in your eye gives you yellow tinted vision. I actually quite liked that, I felt a bit like a classic French car with yellow headlights.

Cold call survey monkeys from India are making me angry today. As soon as you ask who they are, they hang up. Time to do away with the landline phones I reckon.

Also, this cold wind can FRO!

Pay for that thing that blocks withheld numbers, it's bliss. Along with caller display you can see foreign numbers (they actually divert calls abroad to try and sneak past your block) and thus simply pick the phone up and shout FUCK OFF at the top of your voice, before slamming the receiver down.

*That said someone on here (I think) said the best thing to do is to ignore the calls as if you answer they just sell your details on to even more companies as a live number, that's why caller display is a must.

Pay? Nah, it's a lot cheaper to just unplug the phone. We do get some overseas calls from relatives though. We need to convince them to Skype.

Sadly can't unplug the phone - the other half's ex's parents (who are ace, and help out with the kids loads) are proper oldschool - although they have a mobile phone, they just won't use it to make anything other than emergency calls and they certainly won't call our mobiles from a landline. So the phone-tied-to-a-wall stays.

As do the bi-weekly phone calls from some elderly sounding old lady asking for June. Tell her she's got the wrong number, and then stay next to the phone as she'll call straight back and ask for June.

I used to have a guitar teacher who lived in a 1930s ex-council house that before him, was owned by an old boy since new - still had the wooden windows and the like. Most weeks the phone would ring mid-lesson: 'hello? no, hes's dead, sorry... okay, bye.'

When he moved in, the guitar teacher just kept the late old guy's phone number, and then registered Telephone Preference Service in his own name.

Turns out the dead guy wasn't on Telephone Preference Service and there was no way the guitar teacher could re-register the phone number. He couldn't change it either as he'd have to re-print all his business cards etc...

I unplugged mine a few weeks ago after one automated PPI claim too many. Odd thing is I'd get loads of calls for other people despite having had this number for about 2 years

Here's a neat trick on cold callers I picked up from a friend that actually works.  Damn, I phrased that like a terrible forum advert so now you won't believe me.  Anyway, when the phone rings pick up the receiver but don't say anything, nine times out of ten the caller will hang up, the other 1 time it'll be an automated voice and you yourself can hang up.

If you have friends or relatives that call you, this could confuse them a lot, but this isn't something I suffer from particularly.

1) The Princess is now MOT'd but I can't drive it yet as only having an old logbook I have had to send off to the DVLA for the tax disc which I was told can take ten days. If the local centres were still open............

2) Never been let down by a Shiply bidder, infact most have been more than helpful. However I accepted a bid to collect the Horizon from Bury St. Edmunds and the guy has gone quiet and doesn't respond to messages, twice when I have managed to speak to him he asked what he was supposed to be collecting! Who would forget being asked to collect a Talbot Horizon?! The seller is getting annoyed as he has already been let down twice, I just hope he doesn't think it is me! I did offer to send him a deposit. I did make the mistake of not checking this guys feedback, it is 90% with quite a few people saying he forgets or just doesn't turn up!

TPS does stop UK based companies making sales calls. It doesn't stop autodialers that try every number combination, overseas calls or so-called surveys. Which makes it less useful than a chocolate teapot.

Spam mobile texts and sales calls can also be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office and a few companies have actually been fined for Being Naughty - http://ico.org.uk/for_the_public/topic_specific_guides/marketing/calls
