Took the boys out mountain biking this afternoon.

The oldest lad complaining that something is not right with his bike.

Lets have a look says i coudn't see anything so jumps on to give it a spin gears/back wheel locks up sending me over the handle bars in to a heap on the floor.

The handle bars dig into my left hip close to somewhere soft, skin my right knee and left palm.Fucking too old for this shit.

had that for the last 3 weeks at work

to the spanner gadge in depot

'the bikes making a clanking noise when i pedal every couple of cranks - crank is fine wheels arent loose drums gears are not falling off'

itll be the chainguard

can you adjust the chain

asked this twice and nothing

last week same thing

asked him on monday as it was still making the noise and as itd been flagged up on the board in writing please fix - went to them today took the chainguard OFF

gave it to him in his hand and said metal on metal makes a clanking noise metal on plastic youll hear a rub

go ride that = yes it making a noise = itll be the bottom bracket then (which isnt loose)

and they wonder why the 700 quid bikes they use are fucked after 6 months when they wont repair them

Another day, another ebay INR case. Except this one wants a refund M8. Oddly enough the first 5 sellers I emailed also had the same message from him.

Place your bets on ebay giving him my money back, and a gold star for being a top clever thief.

On the subject of eBay and to$$ers, an item I couriered 8 days ago hadn't arrived yesterday, so the buyer started a dispute (cheers for that, you could've just asked me to look into it first) - Gaypal promptly froze everything and I needed to pay for something today. As my purchase was more important than the sale, I refunded the buyer to get my account unlocked.

Cue the buyer asking why I'd refunded them so promptly - "it seems a bit fishy to me". Of course, I'm clearly scamming you by GIVING YOU YOUR MONEY BACK. After showing great restraint and explaining the situation to them, I get another 3 messages stating that I'm apparently acting "suspiciously" but they're not going to neg me because they're feeling generous.

Seriously, how are these people allowed into society?

I just bought a gearbox that was supposed to of arrived by last Tuesday. When I sent the seller an email asking where it was you have a choice of title and when you pick item not received it starts a case rather than just letting you send an email. It turned out shitty link had damaged the packaging and it had leaked oil. They then decided they wouldn't deliver it. They hadn't told the seller this so he didn't know what had happened. I ended up collecting it from the depot and he refunded the postage. It appears that ebay have once again changed things to side with the buyer.

I've had sellers get seriously grumpy when I've opened a case, but as Panhard say, it does it automatically these days. Stupid system.

I bought a £2 phone charger cable last week and got the wrong one in the post (lightening rather than micro USB). Clicking on the 'wrong item delivered' link on the ask seller a question fired up page 1 of 'open a case and teach the scum what for'. I hit back, asked an other question and matey is sending the right one out, told me to keep the wrong one etc.

Fucking eBay. Matey will now get good feedback, rather than the first thing he knows is he has a case against him for a simple mistake

Agreed. All I want to do is send a polite message asking for info.

Nothing ebay has done recently is as bad as that delivery and return policy shit they've put in place. It's highly infuriating.

I think the most sneaky back door con from ebay is charging a final value fee on the cost of postage. Selling anything cheap will end up costing the seller money to give the item away. Robbing buggers

Some delightful person has caused some damage to the near side wings and doors of my Almera. Friday morning there where some parallelwhite lines down the side and this morning there a shoe print on the back door and a dent.

Can't prove it happened in the residential car park at my flat or when it was parked elsewhere.

Just as well the car is a bit 'shite' . Would be livid if it was much newer.

I hope that karma catches up with the son of a bitch (or daughter) who did it.

Ah, didn't realise that - useful to know about if I need to politely chase up a purchase in future. Still doesn't explain why my buyer threw a wobbly when I tried to do the sensible thing though.

Eventually, I reckon eBay will only let you sell anything under a business account. If it doesn't have a recognisable catalogue number and/or is more than 5 years old, you won't be able to list. I just hope that another option will be up and running by then.

I try and only buy from ebay these days (though I do understand they still get business from that) as I don't like giving them money or being pissed about by so called buyers.

I did purchase a phone holder for my bike recently which was absolutely useless, so I mailed the seller (a business| who told me they would refund half the money as it would cost me a fortune to post it back to them abroad. I then pointed out the listing clearly stated it was being sent from the UK, so said 'no thanks, but a partial refund is no good as the item is no use at all, I'l like a full refund, where do I send it back to as postage to the UK won't be much'.

A couple of hours later I got a message telling me to keep it and I got a full refund.

I've had some pretty good experiences as a whole recently though and scored quite a few bargains, so can't complain much as a buyer.

Nearly hit a guy on the M6 south near J19 today. I was in a 44 ton container lorry and this fella was standing on the passenger side of his ford focus, which was on the hard shoulder. As I approached in lane 1 he walked round to the drivers side, crouched by the front wheel and fell backwards, landing on his arse- his head was right in the middle of the lane! I was about a trucks length away when he did this, doing 56mph, so no time to brake. I instinctively pulled the wheel over and veered hard into lane 2, the wheels just missed this guy by inches. Fortunately there was nothing in lane 2 so I didn't cause an accident.

I was pretty shaken up, so pulled over at Knutsford services and rang the police, giving them the details. I thought the guy must have been drunk and was worried about his safety. When I got home I had a quick surf of the net and ended up on a truckers forum I used to frequent. The exact same thing happened to another driver today, same guy, same car, same place, same time. This time he ran into lane 1 and stood there waiting to be hit, fortunately the driver managed to just miss him, I can only think he was trying to commit suicide. I hope the police picked him up before he found oblivion.

Bloody hell! That would have shit me up too, horrible.

I had a young girl do that to me once in this village I was driving through, she just stepped out into the road in front of me, luckily I stopped in time.

I pulled over to the petrol station across the road as it shock me up and I needed fuel anyway, as I stood there the girl appeared again and this time she got ran over by another young girl driving past, amazingly she got up and ran off leaving this young lady crying in the car with her two young children in the back.

The next day I was reading the local rag and this girl was in there, it turned out she had been raped by a taxi driver the night before and was killing herself because of the upset she felt...

Ebay is shite to sell on but I keep going back to it, collection only though as the price of sending a parcel is getting silly.

I just had some beetle bits for sale and there was an item I sold which I should have posed but thought it was going to be collected but I was thinking of a different item.

Buyer lodges a case rather than message me,my PayPal account gets frozen so I can't use the money to send my other bits, i sent the bits off but no reply, account still frozen, so I said fuck it and refunded the buyer, result is my account is unfrozen so I can keep everyone else happy but money lost again

I fully appreciate the level of mental/psychological torture that might lead someone to top themselves, and I understand that self-infliction is beyond many people, but jumping in front of a truck or car would remove any sympathy I might have for them. OK, if it's a train, it's still not pleasant for the driver but at least there's some degree of removal there and they wouldn't actually see it happen. But hitting & killing someone in a road vehicle would be so massively traumatic for most drivers, not to mention the risk of causing injury or death to others, that anyone who did it could only be an utter sh1tbag in the first place.

When you're suicidal, you don't really think about the effects on others.  At least that's my experience of it.

This, in a nutshell, is how it is. People commit suicide and leave children, families, businesses with people dependent on them and God knows what else. If you're suicidal, you really don't care about anything but dying.

Hopefully, the guy on the M6 got help before he screwed a lot of lives up.

I guess it's different for everyone - arguably any suicide will negatively affect someone, whether it's the person who finds the body or the people who grieve afterwards, and I totally understand how mental illness can overrule those considerations. Personally (and I'm going back many years) I seriously considered doing a number of really dumb-ass things, but I'd never have deliberately smeared my entrails over a random stranger's car or truck. In my far-from-expert view, if someone's far enough 'gone' to completely lose all concept of collateral trauma, then they'd surely be capable of doing it themselves, on a smaller scale.

I got sent an incorrect but usable item for a bike a while back. Asked for a 50% refund though I was willing to keep the item - 'return for a full refund' was the response.

Another one was some '90s headphones. Damaged in the post due to poor packing, asked for a refund, but said I didn't want to send them back, after all they were useless (perished rubber parts crumbled). Seller ignored me and I just got the 'return for a full refund' message.

And then there's the iPhone story from Christmas, that was a joke, seeing as I couldn't checkout through eBay, the person didn't understand fees, and the 'mark as payment sent' button is fucking useless.

I'm only ever using email/'other questions' now.

He is probably just doing it to get some more in depth research on the ghosts. He was a bit of a nerd like that.
