Work have told my colleague that whilst she is working in an additional role they will not cover any hours worked outside the usual as either TOIL or bank. This is despite this being agreed and applicable to every other service/department within the Trust. This means that the normal working hours of 9 to 5pm are all we will get despite often having to work an additional 4 or more hours beyond that, often waiting for things like hospital beds and ambulances. Marvellous.

The only appropriate response to such blatant and unlawful exploitation is to tell the employer to FRO. Until this happens and people cry 'enough!', it will continue - and get worse.

I'm afraid what Ken describes is the 'industry standard'.

The NHS are bastards at this as they know the goodwill of the staff means they won't go on a work to rule or whatever.

My works do was ace last night. I treated my staff to some £3.90 a pint lager in a posh pub, generally got pretty pissed, paid for transport home and then clocked the secretary going upstairs in a short nightie.

Its a shame it might come to that and I hope it goes your way. Its part of todays society sadly that nobody wants to take responsibilty for their actions anymore. Hopefully karma will come and take a large chunk of his arse off oine day, the spineless twat.

4 young girls work in our office and every one has admitted to reversing into other cars then driving off. But of course their premiums are nice and cheap

Ram them up the arse and see how they like it.

I have a dash cam in the Discovery.  It cost less than £20, sits permanently by the rear view mirror and only starts recording when you move off.  Takes hours of footage and then starts again from the beginning.  Quality is pretty good, I'd recommend that everyone has one to be honest! (sadly..)

Have you got a link to it? I could do with one for work, what with all the complete twats on the road nowadays.

Because too many people have chosen to accept the incremental dilution of their employment rights over the last 30 years, which is a vital part of the neoliberal experiment. Usually the same people who refuse to organise collectively, then blame "the unions" when it all goes tits up for them.

It need not be so. QED.

I stood my ground with a job when they fucked up my pay and again when they docked my pay when I had a fit at work.  The result was that they cut my contract out from under me and refused to acknowledge any offers of employment they'd given me when I returned.  They also cut the contract out from under my brother for taking me to the doctor's and then home to make sure I was okay.

Took my uncles Scenic Mk1 for it's MOT last week, and got a fail sheet with a few things on it. Managed to get a shot of their laptop (used to work there) and sorted out the ABS problem, but it needs rear discs, rear pipes, a CV boot and a few other odds and ends. Not too much hassle, so I ordered rear discs from an Online factors, and they turned up bare with no bearings or ABS rings. The cheap discs turned out to be far far more expensive than dearer ones- I should know this by now... Now I have the hassle of returning them and getting a pair of slightly dearer ones that come complete. My last 2 days of holiday, of which the last 7 near enough have been filled with sorting out other peoples cars, are now going to be filled with waiting for UPS, then a mad rush to finish it and get it in for its retest. Grrr.

Aaand the cars are still dented.

Yeah, but it'd be worth it for the 'surprise sex' you'd get. Also, even if she pressed charges, there's no way any self respecting judge would send you down for bumming her over the photocopier because she broke the rear light on your Tagora.

Self employment ideas please, don't expect to be welcome back tn my job on Thursday. Could I work for Hermes on SE basis using the MG as a van. Hermes courier always used her own car. I can get by on £200 a week. TBH I could probably get by on 50 if I had to.

I reckon I might go for one of those dash cams, too many horror stories of manufactured witnesses and claim culture.

Mate had one in his work van, got a nice video of him on a roundabout right in the centre of it (as if turning right), and some bint shooting straight onto it and slamming the brakes on in front of him. Made the insurance claim nice and easy, I'm told.

Also, I see some have buttons where you can take still shots. So expect lots more old chod spots.

I have one like this-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-HD-Car-Vehicle-Dash-Dashboard-Camera-IR-DVR-Cam-CCTV-Night-Vision-Recorder-/190858462767?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item2c700d062f

It's even cheaper now, £15.49 with free postage!  You'll need an SD card for it though.  You can set it to record in 2, 5 or 15 minute files so if you do need to access some footage on your laptop, you can just save the appropriate bit for insurance use.  The bigger the SD card, the longer you can record for before it starts saving over the old stuff.

Technically, you need to be covered for business use 'carrying parcels' so you might want to look into that first.

A dashcam is essential these days, I ordered one the day after a hurtling Cadillac overtook the queue at a mini roundabout destroying a Polo I'd earlier flashed to pull out. Not many witnesses stayed to give contact details and It occured that it could so easily have been myself arguing fault with the Caddy driver. Many dashcams claim HD levels of resolution but are absolutely not, a bit of research should find a reasonable one. I've lost a couple of indicators to touch parking cunts lately so I'm going to hook one up to a spare car battery, see how long it runs for, if feasible it would be good to leave one running all the time.

It's a common grump, but got another fuggin ebay twat. This one wants £5 refund on a £5.99 item and he'll keep it 'cos it's not that bad. His feedback shows if you give him a refund you get neutral, otherwise you get negative.

I happen to have his real live mobile number. If only there was some way to have a string of "£100 collect tonight m8" people phone him for the car he's not selling without it tracing back to me.

He sounds like a professional a-hole.  There are plenty of PPI claim websites where you can enter a phone number for a 'call back to discuss your case'...

You really have to wonder whats wrong with these people. Its only a fiver, its not even worth the time and effort to be an arse over it. If you were going to be able to rip someone for several hundred quid with such ease, it almost seems worthwhile. This is probably what they hope the seller will think

If they put that much effort into getting a job or good education they might actually get somewhere in life.

Offer him a £5.99 refund if he sends you the item back, he can't grumble at that, then ban him from all your auctions.

If it's not bad, it's not bad. If it's worth complaining over, he needs to return it.

Then put his phone number in a phonebox under the title "sexy susan".

Further to the Christmas party malarky; I've now fully realised why I don't like them. Stupid, girls in tight dresses who think they are all that dancing about, drinking getting louder. Stupid blokes dancing about getting/standing in your way when you've got a tray full of half drunk drinks not realising you are there.

These twats at Ikea are great to work with when they are sober, when they are your colleague, but as soon as a 'party' is laid on for them, they become rude, uncaring arseholes who see you as nowt more than fucking skivvy.

Never again.

Oh, and some lad has trumped me in the Rover 800 stakes, he owns a PERFECT KV6 Sterling and now has bagged himself a PERFECT, UNMARKED D-FUCKING-REG Mk1 820Si in non-other than Shantung fucking Gold. Why the fuck do I always end up with the end-of-life fucking drunken bastard of cars whilst everyone else seems to end up museum pieces? Every car I own is falling apart in one way or another. I wonder why I fucking bother sometimes. I'm seriously considering just scrapping the lot and doing with some boring car.

Posted

Hang on, you can't scrap your cars because someone has nicer ones! If that was the case, we'd all be walking except for one lucky that with a mint Tagora.

As for work parties, my approach is to take loads of photos of drunken girls and people being knobs, then bung them Facebook. Either people behave better next year, or you don't get invited. Win-win.

I thought everyone did anyway, well except for that fraction of the population who survive off of Greggs pasties and panda pops...

I like this plan. Think I'll wait a few days so he gets used to it being on his car before offering return for refund. I'll be getting negged anyway so may as well have fun :)
