Is it just that someone has just been sold my number or has anyone else had a massive increase in spam text messages today?  They started arriving at about 1am today and there's been at least a couple every hour since.  About 70% of them not even in English.  French and German being the only ones I could actually recognise.

I've not had any, I feel left out! 😀

Pretty sure no one wants to talk to me either - they just want me to click on those *highly* legit looking links in the messages which definitely won't infect my phone with some horrible malware in an attempt to hack into a whole plethora of things.

I understand customer details were compromised in the recent M&S hack, so if you've ever bought anything from them online, chances are...

Nah @High Jetter, its just that no-one wants to talk to you

Joking!!! 😄

It feels like that today! Am awaiting 2 replies from suppliers, and was supposed to meet my freeholder's agent at one site at 2:30 - no show and no calls yet.

I don't want to talk to people most of the time

But then, I'm an unsociable miserable bastard...

Nope.  I get one every couple of months, mostly someone masquerading as Scottish Power.

Never answer, just obliterate them.

Nobody wants to talk to me either, just the way I like it.

I had several yesterday and several again today. I used the report function on the phone and left it at that.

That could be it. I can't recall having bought anything from there, but it is possible that I did some years ago.

Local press are reporting an accident on the A50 island at Sudbury this morning.

Old car on its roof, no other details, what does the AS mind think it is?

In theory yes, as long as my eBay spring compressor can take it.  It's about my least favourite job though.  Car is also in for an MOT on Wednesday and there's no chance I'll get it done before then.

Oh, and because German I need a special tool to get the strut top off, so that's another expense.

Watched a video on the Mazda 6 'Skyactive', as I have just bought one without knowing anything about them other than my last car was a Mazda 6 'ya'.  Supposed to be 'Takuya' but the Taku had fallen off.

Anyway, the Skactive label is supposed to be that they have reduced the weight of almost everything to give it better fuel economy.  Just washed it as it was covered in midge corpses and shite from it's trip to Scotland last week and checked the oil as this is apparently a critical issue with them.

The immediately noticeable contradiction to the Skyactive nonsense is the bonnet that I swear weighs as much as the rest of the car.

I don't recall any such weighty issue with the previous one.

It has continued throughout the day today.

There were a few that came in before that this morning I'd already cleared too.  Reporting and blocking each one, but given the numbers are almost definitely spoofed I can't see it doing much.

On the IT grapevine, there has been another hack that isn't public knowledge yet.  Charity sector rather than retail.

Yep, they're the same as the ones I'm getting

Youtube chucked up an excellent playlist earlier.  Tried to download it, usually no problem at all but got a 'failed' message after a while.  Second try worked but when I went to drag it on to my phone (mp3 player now) there was only one track from the original list and none of the others were of the slightest interest.

Re dodgy text messages my dad occasionally gets ones along the lines of "Hi Dad. This is my new phone number, don't forget to save it. Son"

He's had a couple over the years but as I was driving his car through London with him say next to me on Wednesday afternoon he got one 😂 I could very confidently say it wasn't from me, as my phone was in my pocket hand had been the preceding half hour in his presence!

I barely get any text spam. I must be more careful with my number than you lot 😛My Gmail on the other hand 😬

I've been considering getting a tilting car lift, and a 2 ton item came up on eBay, at a price I would pay, from a motor factor in Newry, so no problems with Vat or customs for the Irish Republic. They have sold 800k items with a 99% satisfaction rating. I put off buying until today, because I'm away at present, then hit Buy it Now. To be greeted by a message saying all the items being sold by the seller were unavailable. They have 20k listings, but eBay are recommending trying other sellers. Of which there are none for what I want.

Why would a large firm suddenly get kicked off eBay?

Contact them directly in the morning?

Driving to work this morning I clocked two tiny birds in the road. I slowed and eventually stopped as I didn't want to run them over. They flew away.

Car behind me sounded it's horn when I did this. Because I stopped for some animals.

I am beginning to go off people.

Left my glasses on my car roof, then drove off.

They cost me about £300.

Tried to do a bit of painting this afternoon, but the paint I've bought (aerosol from an eBay supplier) is fecking shite.  Coming out "gritty" and spattering everywhere.  So that's another job that will have to be put off.

It's doubly annoying as it's the second time I've had the same issue with the supplier in question - both times with white paint.  All the other colours I've had from them have been fine, I'm not sure why they seem to struggle to mix white paint properly...

Apparently falling from my pocket to the floor here is enough to kill the screen on a Google Pixel.

In a chunky case and with a screen protector in place.

What an utter piece of shit.  It's now been punted off to be repaired, but is likely getting sold once it's back.  If it needs to be babied that much it's just not fit for purpose.  Just going back to my old Huawei.
