Door handle on the merc snapped, time for the warranty company to tell me to fuck off when I call them tomorrow.

Went to go take a look at the Midget with a view to making a start on the welding yesterday. Every time I dig into it there's just more and more rust.

Come fucker's used fibreglass everywhere.

The job's way too big for me to handle with my level of time/patience/skill/space/equipment.

It's such a shame. If I'd known the bodywork was this bad I wouldn't have bothered with replacing the engine and gearbox. Both are basically brand new.

Can't keep throwning good money after bad though.

Out of interest, I looked at the price of a new midget Heritage bodyshell - £14000!

I know my other half says my pricing mind is stuck in the 90s, but I was expecting an affordable* £6000 or so.

Ooof!

It's probably perfectly reasonable, considering the materials, tooling and time etc. but it would make the eyes water!

Quite a few decent looking shells for not much ££ on marketplace. Like this one: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/530004862906807/

The rollover jig is bloody useful, and you could probably recoup a few quid selling off the bits you don't need.

The nitpicking on my ZX for sale post is annoying me.

I was hesitant to post it here and so far I haven't been impressed.

Why do people a) only reply to my messages while I'm driving, and b) only ever want to talk to me when they can see I'm trying to work?

If ever I try to have a casual conversation with someone when I'm not doing work, they just blank me.

If the tenant is so unaware and uncomplaining, you might be better off delaying that until change of tenant

New one is now sitting in their hall, waiting on gas fitter tomorrow.  We decided that it's better that way.

Better already although it's bleeding again. The bit down the side has healed thankfully.

Mods, would someone please nuke my ZX for sale thread?

I cocked the description up, the pictures aren't right and the replies are pissing me off.

I'll do another one when I have the time/can photograph it properly/fully know the score.

Meanwhile, it's still for sale.

You can easily delete it yourself. I have done this several times when I've changed my mind about selling a car.

That would be way too subtle.

Had it the delete option been available, believe me, I'd have done it.

It's unavailable.

I'm also thick as fuck at the moment, it's probably this new medication.
Apologies if I've missed something glaringly obvious.

I think there is a time limit on deletion possibility.

Moderation actions at the top of the topic usually has the delete option, it does on my Clio thread anyway.

Not quite. I was smashing a toilet with a hammer in a skip and a chunk fell on my hand. I got away lightly tbf.

Needed to buy something for lunch yesterday, unusually for me. Picked up a ham sandwich from a small Tesco. They'd not even attempted to put any spread (never mind butter) on the bread, it was totally dry.

I'd say.

Just use the hammer next time I reckon.  Swinging a whole skip around isn't even an option for most of us.

It’s in here, emails, QR codes the lot. Nothing has changed in the past 12 months either so it’s all really ‘meh’.

It is going to end in a multiple guess quiz that we need to get something like 90% in - three attempts, if you don’t get the 90 you have to do it all over again.
Problem is that some questions are really ambiguous (imho) plus many are ‘some, all or none of these apply’ and they shuffle the answers in from a pool of possibilities.

Afternoon sesh is the H&S training….

Am I the arsehole here?

I've got a friend (a good, close friend) who wants to talk on the phone a lot. This isn't itself the problem.

I like him very much and talking to him, but usually in the evenings I've got something that I must do/want to do. I think he sees it as "if you're at home, you're free."

Recently he phoned in the evening and I answered it. He asked what I was doing and I replied that I was reading a book. He then launched into conversation. I think it offended him when I said that that meant I was busy. I was doing something that I had been looking forward to doing all day. I think because he doesn't like books and films, he doesn't get that someone might actually really want to read a book or watch a film. Therefore just having a general chat was below it on my list of priorities. He just saw it as being completely free.

The conversation was just about nothing. Chitchat. We had had a long conversation the day before which was just chitchat and had been together all weekend.

For a bit more context, usually these calls are at a time that suits him. When he's on a long car journey. Or sitting alone drinking and bored. If he sent a text during the day, saying "are you free tonight around 7:30? It would be good to have a chat", that would be a bit more helpful as I might arrange my evening differently (eating, cleaning, tidying, other stuff etc).

Am I a dick for not just making time or am I being reasonable that if I already have something to do, it's fine to get on with it? I'm not sure any more as this has been going on for a very long time....

V62 sent away for the 240 this morning.

No chequebook. Went the post office for a postal order.

Need cash for a postal order.

"It's fine! You can withdraw cash right here at the counter!"

... unless it's Monzo. Then you can't.

Walk down to get cash out at a bank. Go back in to find every Tam, Jean and Isa in the queue.

25 minutes to get back to the counter. £25 postal order is actually £28.13, plus another quid odds for a stamp.

Fucking saints preserve us man.
