Currently stuck on the M5 near Oldbury due to an accident, I hate motorways when they go wrong.

People are now driving the wrong way up the hard shoulder in an attempt to get to freedom.

Actually they have been instructed to do it so hopefully I will out of here soon.

Yeah, that doesn't look fun.

A motor factors near here tells their drivers to avoid the M8 in case there's an accident and it closes and to use the A89 which more or less  runs alongside it.

It's done. Except it isn't really, as the technical inspection says it has no brakes. The car was promptly taken back to the garage.
What the actual fucking fuck are they doing? 🤯 If I knew it was going to be a PITA I would've towed it to my trusted tame mechanic. He's getting the car anyway, I just wanted it registered instead of paying a third of the yearly tax+registration fee in towing. Fucksake.

Pissed off, who, me? Never. 🙄

Just spent ages cleaning my wheelie bin and wondering why it was so dirty and stinky as I never put any stinky stuff in it, mostly just non recyclable plastic packaging and only need to put it out every six to eight weeks.  Any food waste, of which there is very little, goes in the compost bin.

I generally take in the bins for three neighbours and it was only when I was finishing cleaning the outside that I spotted that it was next door's bin.  Was just about to put a load of Jeyes Fluid in it.

On a similar note, on Tuesday was helping a good mate of mine do some gardening as the weather was decent, she asked me to go and fetch the green bin to put the rubbish in, so I went and grabbed it from the side of the house.  It was only after we'd filled it up that I noticed I'd grabbed the neighbour's bin from the shared driveway to the garages at the back of the houses - I just put it back and hoped they wouldn't notice!

Ran out of brake cleaner today.

Toolstation - order for delivery only
Screwfix - one in stock locally, got there and it had gone.
Local motor factors - Bulk 5 litre only, I don’t have a suitable sprayer. No sprayers in stock
Euro Crap parts - none in stock, ready for 9am next day.
GSF - bulk only, no spray bottles.
Halfords - yes we have plenty of own brand in local branch. Get there and they only had Holts. £10 a bloody can!!!

The only spray bottle I do have at home comes from a set, one of which dissolved last time I got Isopropyl (brake cleaner) on it.

You'd have thought he could afford his own bin, what with being the Duke of Edinburgh and all.

Just worked out that with the increase in minimum wage and national insurance, the wage bill for my staff will increase by 13.1% from Monday. Deep joy.

Currently walking around a shopping centre waiting for some discount sweet treats, and I can’t help but notice… what the FUCK happened to table manners? Yes I can see you eating food, I do not wish to see an example of what it looks like when you decide to do an impression of a washing machine. Don’t get me started on the noise either.

I feel ya mate. Today I needed to top up the oil in the Vectra, whilst at a petrol station in Dover by the ferry port, I spotted a small bottle of 5w 40 for £16, I had a nagging feeling I should buy it but didn't. Then on the M20 motorway I got the signal of "Check Oil' on the dash, fuck, so I DO need some oil, I pulled into a services and the same bottle was £TWENTY FUCKING EIGHT POUNDS.

There's a reason I'm always poor.

Also, similarly, I wanted some brown bread, get some, sod all. Local Co-Op has closed for good, next shop didn't have any because greedy savages grabbing all they can, next couple of shops didn't stock any. Bear in mind here, I've just driven from Brussels back to Worcs and have a banging headache. I really couldn't be arsed with this. I did find some wholemeal with no added sugar. It'll do.

You sound like the advice I was given by a uni lecturer on report writing, years ago.

1, Tell them what you're going to tell them

2, Tell them

3, Tell them you've told them 😁

Someone cleverer than me could make this recursive by writing a report about writing a report about writing a report about writing a report...

I was supposed to be meeting a friend for coffee today, which involved dragging myself out of bed far earlier than I should have (admittedly 9:30 isn't that early, but I didn't get to sleep til about 3 and I'm supposed to be using my time off work to catch up on rest)

I even took the opportunity to put on some nice clothes I don't wear often, and put on my Ariat cowboy boots.

Just as I'd finished getting my things together she texted to say she didn't feel well and couldn't make it

Now I need to find something else to do with the day! It won't be going for coffee on my own, I don't particularly enjoy having vast sums of money extracted from me for the pleasure* of sitting in a noisy environment drinking shit coffee.

My classic Panpan is in a garage across town and I haven't been there in years tbf.

Every door has been booted... You can't actually open the door so that's good.

That's exactly the sort of thing that happens every single time I try to meet up with anyone, be it friends, family members, or anyone else.  It's always me making the effort, and it's always them who get my hopes up and then conveniently have an excuse ready.

I wish people would just be honest with me and admit they don't want to ever be in my presence.  Because no one does.

My wife's Honda came up with this last week, which she initilly thought was the DPF.

Happily it wasn't, but after draining the filter housing 3 times (not a fun job on this particular car, as it's right down on the back of the block and above the driveshaft) it still keeps coming back on. Have taken the fuel pump out and a fair bit of water in the tank (a few spoonfuls) so have drained that out and hopefully another drain of the filter wil be OK. It's a PITA though as the whole centre consol has to be removed to access the tank.

Given that a simple drain of the filter didn't help, I'm thinking it may be contamined from the petrol station, especially as she went to a different one to usual (we both typically only use one of two in the area, and nothing else on th fleet has had problems). I don't imagine there's any way of proving it, or any come back either.

This would make me happy not grumpy. Just let them get on with their lives and you have more time to do what you actually want to do and not what other people expect you to do.

Not that I have friends, but the traditional response would be to text back that you are popping into town, passing the Pharmacist, and the bakery, so you can get imodium or zit cream (or anything else she might need), and you'll buy her a cream cake to cheer her up and you'll be dropping it off about say 11:30

Wins on 2 counts. You are a real friend who accepts that people get ill and you make her feel like you care.

Or If they genuinely are just crying off, then there's a slight passive agressive guilt trip included.....

Years ago now there was a bloke with a new BMW had an FTP that was found to be water in the fuel.  Made a bit of a stink about it.

A bit of digging found it to be from one of the tanks at the local Sainsburys.  Somehow a lot of water had got into it, more than feasible through condensation.  They dug the tank up and ensured that it was waterproofed, no problems heard of since.
