If anyone in the Midlands is missing a very large quantity of big monitors, then they’re in our carpark. Two piles like this, left outside in case the cops bother to turn up and ask who nicked ‘em. What’s the blue container for? Looks like acid!

This lot are absolutely feral. 😕

I know someone who had this a while back along with hints about damage, stuff going missing , possibility of a mysterious fire, etc.

They where told ooo a fire nasty if it spreads ( confused looks from the holiday makers)  yeah said the foreman caravans burn easier than buildings!

Great. Look who’s taking over the office carpark again. Looking forward to standing in human shit and getting stuff nicked again.

The real issue is how that BMW has parked.

I'm more bothered by the VW Touran :D

Granted, although it could be dropping off more stolen TV,s.  The Leon on the other hand? It's owner seems to have found the holy grail of parking spaces.

I think that’s someone who has returned a rental/lease car to a neighbouring company. It’ll be on bricks by the morning.

The cheeky wee scamps have already smashed the fire alarm system.

Let me guess -Police not interested / scared?

They were parked up the street (residential area) and came to site, but all the filthy fucking vermin travellers hid, and when plod wandered off they all came out again, then a fat kid of about 10 years old but with the face of a 50 year old man, in a skin-tight tracksuit and huge 'diamond' ear-ring tried to punch me when I told him to fuck off trying to trip me up and steal my tools. Won't be going back in a hurry.

When I was a trainee solicitor I had the dubious privilege of serving the injunctions on traveller's sites on behalf of the local authority (and some private land owners on occasion).

The adults were all verbals which was fine, you could ignore it or give it back depending on your mood or the situation. What I couldn't stand were the kids. They all clearly knew they couldn't be arrested (under 10) and so they'd be unleashed throwing stones, glass, dog shit you name it. I carried a sturdy umbrella which deflected all but the worst, but did make me very conspicuous

I see you've already met the kids. You have my sympathy.

When I was doing this there were a couple of bailiff squads who specialised in dealing with travellers. Unsurprisingly they all loved a scrap. As a general rule they complied with the injunction and moved on before that was necessary. It was always very messy

How else to survive when you're cast as an unwanted outsider by almost everyone?

Perhaps they could consider demonstrating by their behaviour that all the clichés about them are wrong?

We've made it to that time in the year where we start getting all tropical with daily bouts of heavy rain, interspersed with stiflingly hot sunshine.

The net result is any time during the day that is dry enough to do outside work is also like a sauna.

My social media feed is making it clear that it's "prom" season, aka turn up to an over-hyped Americanised one-upmanship contest in the silliest vehicle possible just to be desperate for a bit of attention.

We had a leaving do from my 6th form which I didn't want to go to but was pretty much bullied into it by the few friends I had.  I was driven there by a mate's mum in a maroon Rover 45 (I think) and after I'd had my (rubbish) meal and one bottle of beer I realised I was surrounded by people who had by and large hated me for seven years, so I left and got a taxi home.  Thinking about it, I may as well have driven myself there and back as I'd just passed my test.

Looking back on that post...I think I just don't like seeing people enjoy themselves.

Filled up the pickup. Yay.

Mostly a grump because that's over twice the price it was 9 months ago.

That sharp a hike when you've been budgeting is a pain in the ass.

Car hire, Ireland. In 2018, it cost £350 to hire a car for a week from Knock airport. Quotes for this August are north of €1,300! Apparently they sold the fleet due to covid and are struggling to get new stock. Not sure how we're going to get round this, flights already booked.

Shitty workmanship really boils my piss, but this is just something else.

Car came in having had a clutch elsewhere, awful vibration through the cabin at idle and the car was shaking (when driving) so badly it was undriveable.

Had a look, when rotating the left front wheel it was clunking and the engine/gearbox was physically swaying left/right

Pulled the inner driveshaft boot off (held on with cable ties and leaking grease, very suspect) and was greeted with a dribble of grease and glitter.

Inspected it to find this:

MVIMG_20220701_105752.thumb.jpg.b643136f665a210979e04dad4ed0d7d4.jpg

One of the roller bearings had popped off and instead of putting it back together properly they just stuffed it in there and hoped for the best 🤦

Clearly they had yanked on the driveshaft, popped it apart and had no idea on how to put it back together

It wasn't salvageable as it was as it had been driven on for a number of miles as it was, totally fucking it all up.

The engine mount was completed knackered, whilst dropping the engine during a clutch change is part of it, it's not their fault it's knackered, but they should have picked up on it.

And yes, they were the guys who could "do it cheaper" 🤦

You obviously don't know anything about the Irish insurance market.

Basically, no short term insurance at all.
