That is piss-poor design on Facebook's part. If you click "ask seller for details" it just sends this message, you get no opportunity to edit it.

I always send a follow-up message too, mind you.

I find it happens when scrolling down the ad/page and you don't realise you even pressed it until the seller gets mardy with you or someone else replies....

One of the most annoying things in the world is seeing an animal with a bad owner. Especially when it means the animal might get injured by running in a road etc.

someone I know is adamant they're getting a rescue staffie ,  single, not got much money, has just moved into a new house and works full time.

I think the dog will last a week before it goes back when it's eaten half the house but they can't be talked out of it, I feel like ringing every rescue centre within 30 miles and telling them what they plan to do which is leave it in a cage 8-12 and 1-5

reminds me of a conversation I had with Zel last time I went down to his place

the gist of it was, the saying "they dont make em like they used to" also applies to driving tests

apparently the driving test these days has gotten much easier then it was in the past

(and speaking of tinnitus my brother tried cooking again which set off all 4 of the smoke alarms in the house...)

I think the driving test is harder than it used to be, not least because driving is harder than it used to be.

the motorbike test certainly is , mine in 1978 was a bloke with a clip board standing at the side of the road in a brown suit, for the emergency stop it was a bloke in a brown suit with a clip board hiding behind a post box , a load of us went to take the piss out of a mate taking his test ,he did a 100m wheelie past us and still  passed

Oh yes, the other day I apparently asked for more pictures of what was being sold. Two concert tickets. Ffs.

I would agree, the driver aids of a modern car may help, but the sheer volume of traffic and unfortunate driving habits of other road users put me off driving as much as I used to.

Aye poor dog. Some like cages, but only if they are cage trained from a puppy. Lucky that I brought to a few events years ago was & she'd go in her cage & shut the door when she was bored of people! I don't think it's right to lock them in though, dogs need to walk around the same as us.

Besides a happy dog doesn't eat your house, so that's an issue it's not the dog's fault.

Autodoc.

Bought a fuel filter from them for the 416, and a vastly incorrect part labelled 'Opel' arrives.

Email them, send them pictures, nope it's right they say.

They ask for more details, OE part numbers etc. They repeatedly ask for different things, every time I give it to them and they insist the part is correct. It isn't.

I've had to tell them the part is wrong 5 times now and they can't accept that the part isn't a correct fitment.

Fucking fucktards, just give me my £15.

and this is why I’ll continue to use ECP - at least when they get it wrong it’s very very easy to get it sorted

Er, what?  Is that supposed to be a telly?  I don't need a cumbersome name like that cluttering up my 45-year-old episodes of M*A*S*H, thank you.

Sold leather Jaguar steering wheel on ebay a while back. Buyer was in Hungary, oh f00k...

First of all the buyer said he had pay-pal issues and was trying to sort it, took a few weeks and TBH I forgot all about it. Eventually he paid! I sent the wheel on ebay's global shipping program, it was due to get there today...

Except the buyer messaged me with a screen saying Paypal had found in his favour and he was being refunded. News to both of us...

Checked my email and the Global Shipping Program deems the consignment to be restricted and wont deliver it or return it! Paypal have refunded the buyer BUT I get to keep the payment too, meaning e.bay is out of pocket by 45 quid odd, which I find especially weird. I'm guessing they're not happy about the airbag...

Buyer isn't happy as he really really REALLY wanted the steering wheel, and it seems now that it's irretrievable and probably in the boot of some Hungarian UPS delivery driver or something.

Anything I can do to get the wheel back?

Posted

Probably not, if it's the airbag then it's against the rules to forward it on but also against the rules to send it back. I would imagine the reason you both get to keep the money is that effectively they now own the wheel and it stops them having to do anything with it although surely they can't always do that, they would be massively out of pocket.

The GSP doesn't prohibit airbags specifically but does say they can't send any compressed gases or liquids. It's a bit harsh of them to expect everyone to know how the thing they're selling works but I suppose they can't name every single thing that's prohibited.

Fair points, well made - it's just one of my crackpot theories.

It's not a theory , a number of people have been convicted of taking multiple tests for people.

This guy has taken multiple theory tests so loads are driving without valid licences, they don't know how many

I don't think you're even supposed to send airbags by UK courier so they won't send it back , as they've refunded both of you it's theirs now , they did the same with me , I sold a WW2 helmet to a guy in Sweden , got as far as eBay and they kept it , refunded both of us

In the grand scheme of things a few refunds doesn't slow the gazillions flowing into their bank account much

Out of 1.9 million theory tests and 1.5 million practical tests per year they have only revoked 1100 licences in a give year period, so it's not actually a massive issue in the overall scheme of things

Except we only know about the ones they caught, so we don't know if it is or is not a massive issue.

Sounds like I screwed up by sending an airbag, I wonder how they knew what was in the parcel?

At least the buyer has been refunded, he's pretty upset though. This saga has taken well over a month and a lot of effort on his part to get his accounts in order so he could pay and the net result is he's back to square one!

Anyone know of a cheap X type leather wheel I can send him? (without airbag this time)

They can’t routinely X ray parcels surely?

I have to be at work at half 4 tomorrow. Going to do my 5th CPC module. We share with 5 other local councils. Why we have to leave the depot at 5 to go to Lewes I have no idea. It's a 45 minute journey at that time of the morning and it starts at 8am.

If you sent it to the global shipping centre they'll have the listing information so they probably checked it to see if you'd posted the airbag

As they're responsible for any damage or loss once they receive it I'd always assumed they re pack items for the international leg so they can check it's OK but they don't

I can however comment on shutl, I posted a vintage amp , got there with a broken screen , so I got him to send it back , thought the screen was glass which isn't covered but it was Perspex which is so I claimed

They must've checked the pictures he'd uploaded of it arriving damaged , mine showing it Ok on the listing and approved the £300 claim , money back in my account in a few days and I got to keep the amp

The other scandal involved "interpreters" for those test candidates pretending not to understand or speak English.

Did you ever watch those episodes of Bluey and Bargearse?

Also, why do I remember this stray converstion from ages ago but can not remember what I had for dinner last night?

Because no one in their right mind would trust them, they have to keep saying it to make people think they are honest
