Saw your 'new' one at Asda yesterday - it looks well.

We're pretty happy with it, cant find many cars for £325 with a years mot and full service history. It's especially good because this is the exact car we were looking for to replace the Panda.

My old beast, parked next to a Mk1 Felly. Back in July, this crackin' little car passed its MOT with just 2 advisories. For a 13 year old car I would say that is pretty good going.

So I got fed up of driving a sensible, reliable, economical Japanese hatch and have taken the plunge and got myself the Alfa Romeo I always wanted. What could possibly go wrong?!! :P:wink:

Picked this beauty up today courtesy of your friend and mine, D_Hirst Esq. Lovely condition, stacks of history and only 61k miles. It drives bloody lovely and it makes a change for me to have something that actually handles pretty respectably!

It's a 1.8 T Spark 16V and has been owned from 6 months old by the same chap, even had a full respray about 5 years ago.

Alfa ownership is great. Probably best to go and start with of them easy access savings accounts now though.

Imp is still not done (as ever), GT6 is sitting there awaiting surgery to its sills when I get off my arse, Scirocco has been sold to Barefoot, DAF is on my drive waiting for me to put a small oil seal on it that I accidentally left off when putting it back together the other week.

In addition I have also had this:
100_0129.jpg
and am now the happy owner of this which I bought from M'coli:
100_0138.jpg

Done well over 1k in the Saab now. I really like it, probably as i got it after driving the Scenic.

Right, a bit of an update:

Of the cars above, I have still got the Imp and GT6. GT6 is on the road (i.e. drivable, I take it for a local spazz around every now and then on private roads of course) but not legal as its not tested but will be soon as it doesn't need much, I just want to finish a few bits and bobs on it first. Imp is still in the same state as it was (hopefully not checked the lock up for a few days), waiting for me to have enough cash to pay for a proper nice paint job. Might be waiting a while yet.

The Saab was part exed with LankyTim for the white Audi Auschwitz Which now lives with Volksy:

101_0215.jpg

Saab then moved onto GadgetGricey and then was sadly scrapped.

Volksy and I went halfs on the recommissioning of this Toyota Sera which we got from Kinkersaab and was a right hoot to drive.

SDC11782.jpg

When the Sera sold we then went on and bought the Lancia Fulvia:

2012-01-09084121.jpg

As you may remember the Lancia was in a bit of a mess but we got it sorted and on the road (but still needing a lot of work) and sold it a few months ago. These really are great fun to drive. The small 1.3 engines really are powerful and it handles incredibly well. I really was very impressed with this car. Volksy was seriously gutted to see it go.

I then got drunk one day and accidentally bought the Volvo 740 'Council Estate' from Sam Glover:

volv1.jpg

This went up to Scooters and then CMS who I think still has it.

When i sold Auschwitz to Volksy, I bought a red Audi Coupe which I still have:

2012-07-06090310.jpg

Its thirsty as fook but really nice to drive. I just feel comfortable in it.

I sold the DAF pocketed the £200 I got back on it (I owned 1/3rd of it) and kept it to one side until I fancied something else. That something else turned out to be this, which I bought a couple of months ago:

IMAG0450_zps05af3870.jpg

So far its been really good. Its nice to drive and frugal. Needs a little work where its had a couple of bumps but nothing serious. I will be giving a proper update on this shortly.

I don't think I have missed owt there?

This is my pride and joy and has been for the last 14 years - I still get joy from driving it and can't help patting it and calling it baby when I venture into the garage to get beer.

Last driven out last week after siiting for 2 months. Fired up straight away too

Probably not shite but very much run on shite principle of minimum outlay/max joy....

Also I have had this under my wing for about 6/7 years as both daughters have had it as their first car. Run for nothing really. Mega reliable cheap transport.

I keep it nice because I like it!

And of course I've still got this which I bought this year and have failed to sell - which I am not too unhappy about but have to pretend to be when Mrs alf is about.

Worthy thread resurrection.

Last time I posted in here about a year ago I had a crashy-face Princess, a Polo in bits and a Ledbury Maestro.  Crashy-face is still with me, Polo and Maestro moved on to pastures new.  I also acquired and moved on a Mk1 Golf floppytop that my brother now has as a daily and bought a BX estate from Dollywobbler of this pasture which I sadly ended up scrapping due to terminal rot.

In 2014, the line up is as follows:

1980 Austin Morris Princess 2 1.7HL - Daily driver

20131217-02_zpscf84ff5b.jpg

1981 Austin Morris Princess 2 2.0HLS - OMGGARAGEFIND. To be taken on by a fellow shiter later this year, presently nearing MoT.

20130921-05_zps8fec8c65.jpg

1975 Renault 6TL - OMGBARNFIND.  Still checking through but it appears to be fairly solid and will also be put into daily service providing no horrors are uncovered.

The oldest Volvo in this picture is the newest design.

It's my 1993 Volvo 940 2.4 turbo diesel intercooler, fitted with a refined* straight-six VW LT van engine. It goes pretty well even though I've been neglecting it recently, it needs a new injection pump seal and the fuel tank cleaned out, jobs I'm too scared to tackle just now in the cold and murk. It'd be the best car in the world if it was better on veg oil.

I also have a dull 2000 Skoda Octavia TDI waiting for some love.

Good idea!

In no particular order, I think...

'89 Cavalier SRi130. Bulkhead rotten. Too much of a soppy shite to get rid of it as the first car I actually paid hard earned pennies for

'91 Senator 3.0i CD 24v auto. Bought from Pete-M of this parish, blezzed around in for a year, turned out to have no sills. About 2/3rds welded but ran out of time/patience/people who can weld. Currently facing the Cavalier on the MIL's driveway.

The evergreen Council Estate as owned by half the forum at some point or another. Currently VOR after I demolished a wall with it a few weeks ago. Shouldn't be too difficult to sort then it'll be back on daily duties.

The rough as arses 760 Turbo I picked up for cheapness from a pensioner in Kilmarnock. Amazingly it's MOT'd despite having tyres with more cracks than a gangbang porno and questionable welds on the front turrets.

Ever a sucker for a cheap Volvo, another scrap money purchase was this 1992 Volvo 940 Turbo Wentworth. Misery spec, 177k on the clock, managed 180k and a vibration started in the engine bay which appears to be a bit of a bastard to sort. Will be into the workshop after the Council Estate for mendage as it's got a tightarse LPG conversion.

So that's five down, all VOR. My winter daily runaround then, ideal due to the fact it's got no heating and the model's legendary rustproofing standards is...

Currently mainly using this as a winter hack (the newest vehicle I own!)

Heated windscreen FTW!

Also got a V8 Disco for towing duties and snow:

LPG makes it merely expensive rather than ruinous to run...

Daily drive during most of the year is my BX estate:

Photo0665.jpg

Owned 10 years and 130k miles now.

Holidays are usually taken in this:

IMG_2708054401047520.jpg

Owned for 8 years, and self converted to a camper - almost finished now! Probably will be using it as a tow vehicle to take the Stellar to Shitefest '14.

Which brings me onto my first ever car. 16 years and 100k miles but off the road for 11 years now.

Should be emerging in May, it's not moved an inch for 9 years :-(
