Probably a bit late now, but if you are passing Bristol on the M4, you could stop by and plug into my Tech2 for a quick read.

A generic could reader should at least give something, though? Could google any code that comes up. I think @Tayne has a generic code reader.

I wouldn't know due to not speaking to him for a while. I'm a terrible friend!

A generic will give you something hopefully but then it's not the EML on, it's the Vauxhall specific "See workshop one". Often that needs something that can read Vauxhall specific codes - e.g. opcom/tech 2/snapon/Delphi DS150e/etc. An ELM327 with ScanMyOpel should do it too.

So after the Tank Museum escapades 2 weeks ago, the ol girls been back in use as...well generic reliable transport. To avoid any EML issues, I’ve just been staying below the speed that sets it off.

So for updates, I’ve added some tat...

The 2 window ones are self explanatory as for the white one on the fuel cap, It’s the entirety of the ‘Steamed Hams’ sketch from The Simpson’s...

On a more serious note, I dropped by work today to touch up the arches on the N/S rear...

As with the O/S, thankfully it was all surface rust. Only ‘bad’ bits was where they rolled in, which you can see from photos 2 & 3 I just folded out and removed and then added a dab of sealant around the inner arch. Also buffed off some of the surface rust on the N/S front and again painted.

For a quick job, it really makes the car look better in my opinion. You only see it’s a rough arse job if you stop and look!

Yes, it’s actually clean. The bodywork is just that good*.

Also today I finally did...

A much needed Skip run! Swallowed everything and more in 2 runs.

I really must be getting to that age (or state of mind) where doing a skip run was somewhat exciting...

200,000 miles!

My Reaction as I quickly pulled over and took the photo to celebrate the moment...

I may have intentionally been driving around a quiet housing estate that I was passing and waiting for the magic number to come, just to get a photo. I then treated it to a near full tank of Shell V-POWWAH diesel as a reward for its service.

My life is that exciting.

So literally after I hit the 200k mark I started hearing a bad noise, so rather than investigate I just parked it up in the driveway and waited for better weather...that day was today!

And I found...

Yeah, maybe the bottom engine mount is just a little worn. Maybe.

New one is a £14 part from a brand I’ve never herd of. Hardest part was when I realized I needed a female torques socket. I have them of all sizes...in my toolbox at work. Bugger, then though “what if, I used a 6-point socket in place of a torques? Ho Ho Ho delightfully devilish Coffees!”
15mm worked fine. Biff bash boff jobs done. Took for test drive, the clunk and squeak sound had gone. Huzzah

But now back to where I was before Christmas. An intermittent grinding noise from the front. I’ve had it jacked up at work and tried front bearings for play and checked anything else I can think of. All okay...mhm. I’m at a loss for that?

Suggestions on a postcard?

So after thinking hard, I've decided to get rid of the ol girl....I'm wanting to thin down my 'fleet' this year and sadly it's not made it, my loss is your gain!

Yes, we got our self a ROFFLE! ?

So the Bad:

- As said in earlier posts, theirs an intermittent grind/rumble sound from the front somewhere.

- Likewise if you thrash it too hard or drive above 80mph for too long it throws up a EWL and feels as if there is no boost! If you stop, turn it off and wait a few minutes and start again it's gone off and works fine(Unless you set it off again.

- The bodywork looks shit, its solid though!

The good:

- MOT till 21st August!

-Automatic entry to Autoshite high mileage owners club, shes past the 200k miles mark!

- Its a luggage loader.

- Is an car.

- Cheap

- About 3/4 of a tank of Shell V-Powwah Diesel!

- RELIABLE ISUZU DIESEL M9 PULLZ LYK AN TRAIN I KNOWS WHATS I GOTS

Tickets at...£4 a ticket, and I'm based about 20 miles north of Aberdeen.

Any questions, just ask!

I hate diesels and I HATE manual cars, but... I borrowed an absolutely hanging Astra diesel estate from an (ex) friend for a week or two last year.

I was never that bothered with Vauxhalls until I bought Albert Ross' (formerly? of this parish) '94 Astra estate. That had the Isuzu engine, and was surprisingly lively, as well as being able to turn in some hugely impressive mpg figures. Sadly it was already something of a rotter when I got my hands on it, so I only had it for the last 18 months of its life, but fair do's, it wasn't bad at all.
