The cam belt snapped and went into the timing belt. I was in a traffic jam when the belt snapped meaning it be easily fixed with the right person.

Aye, 'course it will M8.

How come you never see an advert saying "the timing belt snapped at 7,000rpm while I was caning it past a tractor so the engine is totally fucking fucked mate big time"?

I happily admit that the crankshaft in my 2cv snapped as I was overtaking a triumph spitfire on the a55 at rhuallt hill in 1994.

van 4 life. For those living outside areas where they are expected to fund the privatised public transport services.

Ah, somethings changed and the way i've learnt to post links doesn't work anymore. Shall leave the rest till I find another way. This may take some time.

Is this the daftest speedometer ever?  260 MPH clock in a Cadillac suv? These max-out at less than half that.  I measure 55º between 0 and 70 mph! Be better with a '70s 55 mph speedo...

Still fancy it as my dual purpose daily however: (daily = collecting firewood  and family airport runs)

That's strange, the EU spec ones go till 260 as well. In kms...

Shirley there's a menu option to switch between mph and kmh for when you cross the border between USA/Canada or UK/EU?

Nearly a good idea but I agree, total shit to have a 260mph speedo in anything this side of a Jaguar XJ220

There is indeed a button to switch between mph and km/h on Cadillacs.  They use the same dial for both, just the needle doesn't go round as far when it's reading in mph.

You can faintly see the km/h light there, below the 130 mark.

You press a button to switch between mph and km/h and it recalibrates the speedometer dial's sweep. Annoying for mph users, good for km/h users.

Common to most North American and Australian GM vehicles.

It was like that on my CTS. Note that 30mph isn't actually labelled on the speedo, which is really useful and when you are doing 30 it's barely moved.

Lazy american shites.

That dealer sells some proper shite

They really do. (That Astra is spurs or reapers, but if someone drives it off the premises it was sold as a runner so they can't dodge their responsibility even at £300).

The thing is, they look more established than lots of other bombsite traders, which suggests they've got a reputation to protect (they've paid for signage, for example).

Makes me wonder how many people are being refused repair/refund on the shite heaps they sell, in spite of their statutory obligations as a motor trader.

Maybe they've just got a really scary, burly salesman who just refuses everything point blank.

If you're only going to add one photograph to your listing , then I suppose you may just as well make it look like a still from 'Can't Pay? We'll Take It away'

They come up frequently in my Gumtree searches. I just assumed they were money laundering or something - it’s not exactly cheap for the rammel on offer.

Ex-KMB, Hong Kong. Was one of a load that Slavecoach brought back for Magic Bus and Megabus services in the early 2000s.

I reckon the only place that is going is a one way trip to the nearest weighbridge.
