From the same seller as the Dacia Lada Estate with built Fiat Twink. Lovely. £4500. Poor owner has the Big C and seems to be flogging his toys.

Hmm I wonder what else he's selling...

Similar to what I had as my first car back in 1988 (except mine had the whiney OHV A12 engine, not the later OHC like this one).  This example has the US-style grille and headlight surrounds - I wonder if a batch came in like that, as I'm sure I saw another many years ago.

Hmm sad if it’s who i think it is - Julian Nowill of the original Plymouth - Dakar challenge banger rallies, from an era  before the wacky weekends everyone on here loves so much.

Am I being thick or does this represent incredible value?

Elites are still quite cheap. It’s been off the road a long time but if it’s got an undamaged galvanised (replacement) chassis, the engine turns freely and the interior is complete then it’s a decent buy.

As I pointed out in my last YT video reviewing my own one, these are amazingly good value against MGBs, Capris etc.

Huge fun, very capable, not complicated and the shiter’s Lotus.

The fact that there's no photo of the brake fluid reservoir makes me think the seller is hiding something

Looks like the scammers are getting a bit smarter. More pictures, more info and a very cheap price but that's not ridiculous. Also not loading the hacked eBay accounts to the max either.

🚨🚨🚨🚨 Watch out! 🚨🚨🚨🚨

Luckily* for me, I don't have the funds or capability for anything like that anyway, so I'm not in the market!

My cynical side saw the email address as a form of communication rather than through ebay and immediately the alarms went off. Some people are not so cynical, though.

I hope you reported it.

Looks like a better version of the Lotus Eclat / Elite

I've never quite understood why people want to make cars more difficult to park.

He used to have a website detailing the work on the CX. Did he also have a caravan made from a cesena or am I going mad?

Here it is

If I were buying that, I'd probably have it converted back to standard length. Just looks distorted.

Almost 20 years ago Phil sent me some extruded rubber piping to help fix some leaks my cx had. He’s a good guy - physics teacher I think and well known in the CCC. But he was running that on twenty year old TRX tyres and one had a blow out last time I saw it.
