Similar to what I had as my first car back in 1988 (except mine had the whiney OHV A12 engine, not the later OHC like this one).  This example has the US-style grille and headlight surrounds - I wonder if a batch came in like that, as I'm sure I saw another many years ago.

Elites are still quite cheap. It’s been off the road a long time but if it’s got an undamaged galvanised (replacement) chassis, the engine turns freely and the interior is complete then it’s a decent buy.

As I pointed out in my last YT video reviewing my own one, these are amazingly good value against MGBs, Capris etc.

Huge fun, very capable, not complicated and the shiter’s Lotus.

My cynical side saw the email address as a form of communication rather than through ebay and immediately the alarms went off. Some people are not so cynical, though.

Almost 20 years ago Phil sent me some extruded rubber piping to help fix some leaks my cx had. He’s a good guy - physics teacher I think and well known in the CCC. But he was running that on twenty year old TRX tyres and one had a blow out last time I saw it.
