That’s how it is/was. Why buy locally when the handicap of distance is there to be overcome and also brings adventure ? Why buy a good example when there are far, far worse available? 
 

Local cars in lovely condition rarely make for great reading IMHO.

people dont wanna be bummed by a scrapyard for something they want all the money for when its not legal and is worth fek all when fixed

essex is also a foreign country - but then - even the seller doesnt techincally know where he lives

I'm sure this featured on the thread last year(there can't be 2 frilly metallic blue RHD Simca wagons in the UK), given the amount of work needed and the non-existent Simca 1501 licker market outside of AS it is rather salty.
